DOES NOT TAKE CARD HERE WHATSOEVER, lady at the counter also rude, every-time someone came into the office she over exaggerated a loud sigh. I understand this is a contracted post office but my goodness your representing a company, and member facing in customer service…
I understand there is a lot of animus towards the postal system here. That said, there is an employee who works in the lobby named Michael. Every time I go in Michael is in a good mood, courteous to customers and goes out of his way to be helpful. In my opinion, this man should be in charge of the lobby area and serve as an example to the rest of the sour faces there.
Terrible post office. I have had packages sent back, rescued one package that had my address correct, my son's driver's license was sent back because his name was not on our box and yet we keep getting junk mail for a business. Their name is not on our box either. We don't even bother to go when Amazon says a package is in because it takes them up to 2 days to 'process' it. I was told one day when I asked about a package that was in that there was 'a mountain of Amazon mail' waiting to be processed. And yet, we pay A LOT to be able to pick up our mail when neighboring communities have delivery. Good grief. I have no words for how stupid this is.
My question is. Is the public a customer and should they be treated as such or am I considered a nuisance for coming in to collect my mail ?
I stood in line that I have always stood in to get mail that is required to be signed for. The line is exceptionally long and I waited for well over an hour this morning and when I presented the yellow card that is used to let one know of a special delivery the gal behind the counter said in a rude tone “you are in the wrong line “ I responded with
“This is the line I have always used “.
She immediately responded
“I can make you get in the correct line” with a glare in her eyes. That was a threat. She then said
“ I’ll get it this time” I watched her go get my certified mail I’ve been waiting for I never lost sight of her She was less the 20’ away
Why even say that to a customer. I avoid using the postal service. no service from her just attitude. Bad attitude.
Every time USPS sets my package as out for delivery they NEVER deliver at my from door and only at my mailbox, even if gave them instructions? I don't even know if I'm allowed to go to the post office the same day I get slip, and I can't find an explanation for this
I just had our postal carrier, Chris, get super aggressive with me and I would like to know who I can talk to about this situation as I am alone in our business location often and I do not want or need that kind of behavior. My cluster box has been missing two days and I have received no mail. What is going on and when should I expect delivery of the packages I know were delivered?
I shipped a package to a friend in Alaska, when I asked for her address I didn't understand that you use the PO Box for USPS and there physical address for UPS.
Needsless to say they scanned my package @ 0736 arrived wasilla and at 0743 rescanned saying bad address. After 3 hrs of calling the Post office finally got in touch with someone who said it was being returned to shipper, when I asked if it could be held for pick up she informed me if my friend came down asap she might still be able to pick it up, the could not hold it for pick up to many packages to go thru to look for one package.
So basically I paid $21.10 plus tax to ship it to myself...because they can't be bothered to hold a package or even offer to correct the address. 7 mins after receiving the package it was marked returned. USPS is a rip off in my book!
A permanent and consistent flaw in the entire postal system in Alaska, specifically for those of us who (...wait for it...) PAY to have secure mail service!
That happens to hundreds of us EVERY DAY and they know it. They're not delivering the mail but keeping the money paid for such.
In other words they just plain steal money, with no intention of putting an ounce of energy into the process.
I vividly recall they refuse to even rent a box without proof of residential address so it's not like they don't know where it belongs!

I’ve been trying to call 401 N Main Streety over and over again! About a locker door that wouldn’t open to make sure they don’t return it.
I wanted to talk to the postmaster at the main post office this morning about the janitor guy. I was in getting my mail and the lobby was pretty full but several were wearing masks and adhering to the 6 feet required. A young couple cam in and started up a conversation with the janitor stating it was ridiculous what we are going through right now. The janitor guy agreed and stated it was ridiculous that he had to disinfect everything all the time. He’s lucky he has a job. It all pays the same. A lot of people have been laid off and in this pandemic I cannot take the virus home because my husband is high risk. I have been only checking the mail once a weans to hear this is unacceptable.

Super irritated with our postal carrier. I'm pretty sure we have 2 different people who deliver our mail. The first half of the week my mail won't get delivered or sent out, I've had coffee soaked mail that I couldn't open or barely read delivered as if there was nothing wrong with it and if I have mail still in my box from the previous day the mail carrier won't deliver my mail.
The second part of the week we have no issues. Great mail carrier, she always delivers, takes mail that needs to be sent off, brings packages to me door etc.
do you think I can get ahold of anyone to complain about the first mail carrier? Nooope. I get stuck in a freaking phone loop. Not happy.
5 times I have had photos delivered to my mailbox with "DO NOT BEND" on the packages, printed in easy to read lettering. Sadly 5 times I've had photos I've paid good money for, bent, creased and basically ruined because they insist on cramming the package in my mail box. I have called to complain which does no good because it has happened 5 times! Thank You Wasilla Postal services for crappy services!
Someone called me today and told me the p.o. on Knik Goose Bay was shut down without notice & we would have to get our mail from the main Wasilla p.o. Who has the authority to shut down a single po. like that with no notice??????????
Terrible is a soft word to describe the post office on main street in wasilla. Paid extra money for shipping and they never put the slip for the package in my box. Them old f???s behind the register are no help at all. When I asked them to go back and check for my package he broght me a box that amazon delivered 4 days before that day.
We have the CRAPPIEST post offices in America... right here in Wasilla. Perpetually UNDERSTAFFED! RUDE! And completely Disorganized. I can see why the USPS is being bailed out by the taxpayers. As far as I am concerned, they should simply be SHUT DOWN.
