Before our mail carrier “Mike” retired our mail delivery was wonderful and Mike very personable. Now, the new delivery person leaves packages on porch front steps no matter weather. Please just put packages over the short gate by the front door. It would really not be any extra work, my packages will be safe from theft and dry from rain etc. Can this be done? I don’t think I’m asking too much. Thank you. Olivier Harborview Dr GH. 98332

I think the post office is ok but the delivery driver all of a sudden developed a phobia of our mail box. They demanded we move it, the only option was on somebody else's property. They refused all other offered locations. It's going on a year since we recieved any mail. Except for some Amazon things, I think they are forced to not screw around with Amazon shipments. We've turned in at least 3 or 4 complaints, sometimes we get a call never to hear from then again until the next complaint, now they don't even call in response to complaints. Now I will attempt to have then delete the address from existence.

Gig Harbor Post Office has not delivered our mail for a week due to snow. So typical of this post office. They don’t even answer their phones. Have they ever heard of the mailman motto? “Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds”!?!

People who are reading these reviews, please note the dates on them. Most of them are from years ago. I've never had trouble with this post office and have always been treated with courtesy by the staff. Yes, there have been a few occasions when mail for a neighbor has been in my box, or mine in theirs, but I have never had packages left in the rain--always on my porch with that day's mail added so I don't have to walk out to the box. I don't want readers to think that the complaints from three or four years ago apply to the staff that is here now.

I see that I'm not the only disgruntled person here dealing with this post office. I have a great postal Lady when she is working our route I get my mail. But when we have our substitute that's another thing good luck if your waiting for a specific mail or package. Tuesday I got some mail that was all dirty and with tire marks all over the envelope. With a post mark of 2/05. Where the hell was it for almost a month?... Our regular Postal Lady told where where. Down the street where a lot of my mail ends up because the substitute doesn't take the time to organize the mail. Last year I was told by the substitute that my medication was delivered to the wrong address and that I should go to there house and ask if they have my medication. Went to the post office and talked to the supervisor and it was like talking to a brick wall. This post office could really give a rats ass about the public service they are suppose to serve.

I see so many complaints and feel very fortunate that for many years we have had the most wonderful postwoman deliver our mail! When there is a sub we have had mail in our box that was for someone else and our mail has been in neighbors boxes. But our regular mail woman is fabulous! I live on 65th Ave CT at 32nd street. Sending a big THANKS to our postwoman!! ❤️

For the second time, a package was tracked as showing delivered, but I did not receive it. Spent 45 minutes on 11/24/20 at the post office trying to find out what happened. All the supervisor could tell me was the delivery person was in the general area of my address on the date and time it was supposedly delivered by checking the GPS. Really? Last time it was prescription drugs and I had to go knocking on doors to find it. As I was waiting, a guy came in to get mail out of his PO Box and there were a bunch of letters not belonging to him! How hard is it to put the mail in the correct PO Box??? This is by far the worst service I have ever experienced at any post office and they really do not care that their service is awful. The attitude I got was "that's the way it is" I think better management would help, maybe it should be privatized.

I am disgusted by our mail service. At least twice a week, and sometimes, 3 times a week, our mail is deposited in our neighbors box. The two boxes are adjacent to each other and very clearly marked with each house number and each name. There is absolutely no excuse for depositing mail in the wrong box, except for shear laziness on the part of the mail carrier. I've complained about this before but there has been no improvement. Our neighbor has a PO box, so does not always check his box. Now, our voting ballots were delivered to his box, and consequently we did not receive ours until today, and purely because I asked him to check it. This is lousy service on your part. Our address is 11222, 70th Avenue, GH. 98332. Please respond to my message. Last time I did not receive the courtesy of a response which is also not acceptable.

Terrible phone service. Called local number to discuss mail delivery problem. Called at 5pm. Automated answer said lobby staffed until5:30. Call transferred to operator and then disconnected. Tried at least 10 times after that with same result. Absolutely terrible customer service. No wonder they are losing billions!

Holiday Rush, Limited Time for Courtesy? I know it is the Holidays and there is a ton of mail and packages to be delivered, BUT I had two packages dropped off in front of my garage in the wet and out where package pirates could very easily see them. Just a few feet away, I have a covered front porch with furniture where the postal service provider could have easily left them. I had been tracking the packages, knew they would be coming “sometime” that day so I stayed home to receive them. I received no courtesy notice (such as a knock on door, or a ring of my doorbell) to alert me that I had a delivery. Had I not heard the sound of the mail truck, I would not have known that my boxes had been delivered. As it was, I had to go out to check where they were left. Thank goodness otherwise, who knows how long they would have been sitting out in the elements or, even worse, stolen. My usual mail person always places the packages on my front porch near my front door. I know that this delivery person was not her. What happened to courteous service? Especially with so much on the news about “package pirates” right now. Come on! Based on other reviews of our Gig Harbor postal service, looks like I am not the only person with a complaint.

Does the PO understand that not all postal issues can be resolved by voice prompt?. It is disgusting that it's impossible to speak to one of the overpaid (at my/taxpayer expense) employees. Any other business that provided this deplorable "service" would be out of business.

Must have been a Holiday at least for the postal driver on Goodman Drive NW as my neighbors received mail service but not my box even though my outgoing mail was in the box at 0700 and the flag was up. Probably the same driver who said my mailbox should be replaced even though the front door is embossed with "US Postmaster Approved".

But PLEASE hire drivers that can READ or care enough to deliver mail to right addresses. The last 6 mos. everyone's mail has been put in wrong box. The residents are constantly having to deliver the mail to rightful addresses. PLEASE PLEASE TRAIN OR SCREEN YOUR DRIVERS. SOMETIMES ++ CRITICAL MAIL ++ IS NOT DELIVERED ON TIME DUE TO DRIVER ERRORS.

Had a Priority Mail box delivered to my street mail box. Only problem, it is not for me nor for my address. Have tried 10 times to call 253-858-7262 only to get the phone ringing for 10-13 times, then a busy signal. I know it's the holidays, but come on people, this is what you get paid for & why I still send things through the mail to support the USPS. Answer the dang phone, so this package can get where it's suppose to be!

Mail delivery guy did not deliver my package to my front door just because couldn't drive all the way to my door - 35 yards drive way from street. Reported attempted delivery - blocked location- we had quest and one car was packed on the driveway but easily accessible by walking Same day, same time UPS delivered package. This is ridiculous - 30 yards walk and 2 pounds package. Lazy freeloaders

If I have to deliver mail and package wrongly delivered to me and lose more packages some irreplaceable then I have no choice but to bill the gig harbor post office for my time. I had one carrier hand me to wrong package and when I told her it's not mine she sighed and rolled her eyes at me. Come on bring back Darrin to my route, he was the only one that actually cared.

I have always been a strong supporter of the USPS and would still like to be but having now lived in Gig Harbor for 5 years I find it more difficult to defend the workers. They never answer their phone I tried for two days and it was always busy and when they finally did answer their response to my missing mail was lame and it was apparent they c ould care less. Never got my package or any follow up. I find myself in the same boat today, they won't answer the phone and it stays busy all day. I would hate for their jobs to be eliminated and performed by robots, but I feel like I would get as much caring from a robot than I do now and they would be more competent!

Once again, I'm writing a review to complain how the Gig Harbor post office has again cost me thousands of dollars. I am a small business owner and rely on shipping services for everything from raw materials, to client payments, to delivery of my final product. The Gig Harbor post office has lost my materials, they've lost my money, they've lost my product and have ultimately cost me thousands in lost time and materials in just the 12 years I've had to use this office. This time, however, the Gig Harbor Post office just cost me $12,000.00 due to their ignorance and utter incompetence. I have been in business for 40 years...I build high-end guitars for professional musician's around the world. On June 5th, I went to the Gig Harbor post office to ship a $12k custom one-off instrument to a client in Switzerland. The postal worker at the Gig Harbor post office typed 'Swaziland' into the system instead of Switzerland. In spite of all my shipping/customs paperwork and labeling stating otherwise, the guitar was shipped to Swaziland, South Africa where it was swiftly lost. Thanks Gig Harbor. Bad enough? Nope. Sue, the Customer Service Supervisor at Gig Harbor left me a message requesting I call her back...so I did. Apparently she forgot she asked me to call her because when she answered, she impatiently snaps, "I've sent an email to Johannisberg, what else do you expect me to do?" I was completely startled by her sudden anger...and as i started to respond, Sue went into a rage and began yelling at me...the customer whose guitar she lost! Wow! Totally bizarre, unprofessional and emotionally unhinged behavior from a customer service supervisor toward a client seeking help. I remained calm and pointed out to Sue that there had been USPS tracking updates, so I asked if the USPS still had control over the guitar. Sue snapped again, "Wrong!" with no further explanation. I told her I would now need to either spend a couple months rebuilding the guitar Gig Harbor lost in Africa, or get sued by my client for the value he paid. Sue then actually laughed at me and said, "Sued? For a parcel? Haha!" Not sued for a parcel, Sue...sued for the value of the guitar you lost. Clearly for Sue, the manager at Gig Harbor Post Office, the products we small businesses create to pay our bills and feed our families are nothing more than laughable "parcels" to her...and she actually gets paid to supervise customer service. Scary. The Gig Harbor Post Office has consistently had the worst customer service ratings in the state for good reason. Let's put the Gig Harbor Post Office out of everyone's misery and shut it down. I will be filing a case against the Gig Harbor Post Office with the Postal Regulatory Commission and Consumer Affairs US Postal Service and would like to hear from others who have similar experiences with this office.

I am really ticked. I ordered a new drivers license and a new social security card, and never got either one. Did the mail carrier take them? My mailbox is a community lock-box so I know my mail wasn't stolen after it was delivered. Getting really tired of my mail not getting delivered for no apparent reason...

I'm not as livid as some of the people posting on here, I'm just confused and I don't know who to take up my complaint with. I'm also curious if anyone else is having this same issue. In the last couple weeks, I've ordered two items from amazon. Delivery dates for both just so happened to land on Sunday. In both instances, I would track the package and it would say "Out for delivery" then by noon it would update to: "Delivery attempted - An attempt was made to deliver your package. You may find a notice of attempted delivery that provides more information." No you didn't. I've been here, at my computer... which is by the window to my front door. I would have seen you... no notice either... I understand it's inconvenient to deliver on Sundays, but I've never had this issue before. I mean, straight up lying to me? Two weeks in a row?

I want to know who is working at this post office. They don't deliver packages when their site says they are delivered. You can never reach them by phone because it's always busy. This is the second time they have not delivered critical prescription medication. I just last week received a prescription package that they say was delivered back in November. I just got that package last week. When I walk in there today, they are not going to be happy - someone is going to have their head handed to them. I am very disappointed in how they are handling (not handling) our mailed items. Does anyone know who we can call to lodge a major complaint about their service?

This is, without a doubt, the most incompetent and rude Post Office I've had the misfortune to encounter. I am a small business owner and have had the same materials shipped from the same vendors to my home for the past 20+ years. One such package was not delivered, yet USPS tracking stated it was....then 30 minutes later USPS tracking stated, "No secure location available". B.S., I was home waiting for the package, no postal carrier ever came to my door. I called the Judson st. post office and spoke with Jennifer who was extremely rude and abrasive. She did not want to hear my explanation and repeatedly and rudely interrupted...ultimately hanging up on me when I returned the same hospitality. It's experiences like this that prove why the USPS is dying fast. They provide a service that is now served much faster, far more economically, and much more environmentally conscious via email and online auto-bill pay. Their customer service is abusive at best when they actually answer the phone. I will not lose a wink of sleep when these useless postal workers are out of job....they deserve it.Follow up: After much discussion, the Postmaster at Judson street was able to resolve this issue a few days later, which I'm grateful for. However, the day I received my materials, another package was lost. These people would never survive in the grown-up world where responsibility and accountability are expected.

2nd time in many years of trying, actually got someone to answer the phone at the Gig Harbor post office today. I was looking for info regarding a package the tracking info said was delivered yesterday, but was not. As I was asking the question, the girl on the phone blurted out "just give me the tracking #," so I told her I really just needed my question answered. She, again; let me say BLURTED OUT, "just give me the FRICKiN tracking #!" Which certainly angered me. Her name is Tressa, as least that's what it sounded like in her BLURTING! Is this a result of not having an education? Is this how the post office trains their employees? Let;s hope that Tressa is only temporary help. I realize the Gig Harbor branch has one of the unfriendliest, least helpful group of employees; but this nasty telephone comment was the lowest of lows, even for the post office!!! Merry FRICKIN Christmas Tressa!

ok, I'm famous for last minute things..I drove to the post office to
mail my ballot today and the woman in line before me drove up to the
outside mail drop box just as a postal worker was unlocking it and
taking out the mail. She asked if he could take her ballot and he said
yes and threw it into his mail cart. I then drove up and asked if he
could also take mine and he said in an irritated tone, "NO." Not to
be deterred, I drive around, park and go inside--holding the door for
the person behind me..just happened to be the rude man that said he
wouldn't take my ballot, along with his mail cart. I put my ballot in
the indoor mailbox and he promptly unlocks it, takes the mail (including
my ballot) out and throws it into his cart and heads for the back room
sorting area...Are you kidding me???
