Why are all the trash cans taped shut? Laziness or some kind of identity theft concerns due to mail being thrown away?

This post office is the most unfriendly U.S. Post office I have ever done business with. They act like they are doing their customers a favor and refuse to give simple instructions at times. The U.S. Mail isn't the only delivery service, but they act as if a person is less than intelligent if they aren't clear about their processes. On one occasion, I witnessed the person behind the counter acting very rude to an elderly lady asking for help with her mail situation. I was insulted to see this verbally degrading treatment of an elder. In addition, they make it clear they will not extend any courtesy beyond what is required in their job description. Extending a helping hand isn't their job. P.S. be sure to bring your own pen because none will be loaned.

We got a notice in the mail about the recycle bin being in the way of the post office vehicle. I try my best to always comply with the USPS, I know they are on a schedule and don't have time to deal with obstacles. I apologize for the inconvenience. However, I always put my recycle bin on the opposite side of the mail box (on the other side of the driveway) on purpose, in order to keep the drive area free for the USPS. It is the garbage and recycle companies that are throwing the cans in areas that block the USPS later in the afternoon. We are away at the work and have no control where they throw the bins.
