Postal Locations

Multiple days in a row now my pink polybags in my mailbox that are sticking out are not being picked up. I even have a note on my mailbox asking for the postal worker to take my packages. These are packages that weigh around 5.5 oz. 70% of the time I take them to the Post Office however this is an ongoing issue hurting my small business. How do I make sure my packages are being pickup up?

I've been patient and understanding regarding the USPS' situation during this pandemic, but enough is enough. Why are my mail carriers neglecting/ignoring the mail I want to send out? I put the envelopes in the mailbox and lift up the red flag. Time after time and carrier after carrier, my mail does not always get picked up and sent out. I don't understand it at all. Please correct this with your employees! I'm happy to discuss further if you contact me.

As a small business fighting to stay open during the pandemic this is awful. We have had hundreds of packages stuck at the Allen Park facility since Dec 15th these customers are now demanding their money back....This is thousands of dollars we are on the verge of losing and product. The damage to our business is massive. You raised the cost of postage in October to help cover the cost of additional employees....where the hell are they??

I am just like everybody else around this facility, I have had 2 different packages delayed at this place for 3 weeks & has not moved since 12/14/20 But I have shipped 5 packages thru this place & has already been delivered in NM , OR , CA in less then 5 days . I really think the Main postal service needs to do something about this PROBLEM . Next time I am going thru FEDEX, there a little more $$$ but very fast delivery. I will never again ship anything thru USPS.

I have had 3 boxes held for over two weeks at your distribution center. I understand some delay but it appears to me you are not handling it in an organized manner - first in should be shipped out first.

To correct the delays at this post office the postal service needs to do the following: 1. Close it down and direct all mail to another distrubution center temporarily. 2. Put a team in there to move all the mail out on its way. The current postal employees are overwhelmed and they need help. There is no solution at the present time and the postal service has approached this problem with its head in the sand.

I too paid extra money for 2 day service that should have arrived to its destination by 12/15/20. There is no clear tracking information after 12/12/20 when it left the local post office.When I called the local post they claimed the package was forwarded to Allen Park, MI distribution center. I filed a complaint with USPS and have not received a response yet. I contacted several local US congressmen with the pertinent information. One responded. Contact each of the board of postal governors, they probably do not care but maybe if enough customers did they might. Somehow this mess needs to get straightened out. Allen Park obviously needs help.

I'm with everyone else! Today is Dec. 22, and I have had a package sitting in this post office since Dec. 10. No one answers the phone, not even the supervisor 's number! I called my local P.O. in TN to see what I could do and got all these excuses defending them....Christmas, Covid, etc., yet I'm receiving UPS packages in 3-4 days delivery time. My own post office is running just fine. I understand things running behind schedule, and I'm fine with that as long as I can track progress. But this is so frustrating!

They've had my package since 12/16. This is the 2nd year in a row one of my packages has disappeared into the Allen Park Black Hole.

I have had a package sitting in Allen Park since Dec. 8th that has not moved. I live close to the distribution center that I could literally go there and pick it up myself. This is beyond infuriating.

I spent $75.00 to send a Priority package on December 8th, after being assured by postal employees that Priority packages will not be affected by slow downs. It is now the 21st, AND IT'S STILL AT THE DETROIT DISTRIBUTION CENTER!!!

Very unhappy that the gift I ordered for my father has been sitting there since December 10th with NO MOVEMENT! Come on guys. Either get it together or hire people who can. I currently have 2 packages that were suppose to be here for Christmas but have been sitting here since Dec. 9 and Dec. 14. My book order for my preschoolers, who are not going to be back till after the holidays, is stuck. My family Christmas is this weekend and no package because my stuff is in Allen Park! I ordered with plenty of time and assurance that my packages will come for Christmas. Lies!!!!

Package shipped from Pennsylvania Nov. 24 and arrived at Allen Park Post Office the 28th. Still there. Shipper replaced the order and shipped it UPS. Arrived in three days. Had an insurance bill arrive two weeks after it was mailed. Magazines arrive shredded and in plastic bags. What in the world is wrong with the postal service? Maybe UPS/Fed Ex need to take it over?

I ordered something quite some time ago. First it went to Detroit, but now it's been stuck in Allen Park for days now. My package has been stuck in MI for a week now. I understand things may not be running as fast, but why can't they figure out a way to mitigate this. People need their mail. Please just figure out a way to get people their mail.

Sent a package to a customer over 2 weeks ago. Today is October 14th, and it's been sitting in Allen Park, MI since October 1st. I understand that Covid-19 has affected the mail delivery, but this is unacceptable when the postal service seems to be running fairly normally in every other part of the country.

My package has been siting at Allen Park Facility since Jul 28. Today is Aug 17th. I called their number only to have it ring a dozen or so times then disconnection. Had that happen 3 times. I called the 800 number given on the Allen Park recording, again automation with no resolution. Even in this review site it states that these comments are Not read by postal employees. I am at a loss at this point. What recourse do we citizens have? And now the people in power are manipulating the USPS more to help Trump succeed at the poles? It's a fact, do your research people....it's not all fake news. We are going to lose our Democracy if we don't make a stand. My package was insured for 100.00 and was sent 1 to 3 day delivery on May 30th it is now June 16th So that would now make it with in my Rights to ask for the Insurance money I paid for the Package you are holding hostage in your distribution center. I have the same issues as previous reviews. My packages are within this facility and it would be great if we ALL could receive them. We all spent a great deal of money of these items and COVID can not be the excuse here. I have been able to obtain items that do NOT go through this facility in a timely manner just fine. I feel I should just be able to come pick it up myself at this point.... Beyond sad and ridiculous.

Your facility is not performing its duties. Packages are supposedly sitting for days on days and not being processed. Many complaints and bad reviews and nothing improves. Who oversees this facility? I ordered some items from Australia that were shipped out on March 26, 2020 and I have yet to receive the package. I've tried tracking it with the Australian Postal Service, to no avail. I've had my mail forwarded between my AP address and elsewhere for about 8 years now. Just to clarify, mail forwarding has been around for about 200 years, right???. To this day, I either receive mail 2 weeks after being sent (including bills) or just never receive it at all....... please, you can't blame "covid". I order a package March 25th. It was international and arrived at the Allen Park USPS on April 15th and has been sitting there since. I have tried calling or emailing and Im not getting any response. I ordered a g shock watch from Macy’s on December 3rd it shipped out in December 7. I tracked my order on December 11th and it said it’s at the AllenPark, Mi post office it was supposed to arrive December 13th but it is now December 18th and the tracking system is still saying the same thing. That’s horrible customer service and I’ll never order anything that goes through them again.

A package was delivered on Sunday April 15th soaking wet. I went immediately to the door after the USPS man set the package on the porch. It did not sit in the weather, it was in the house within 10 seconds of delivery. He was in the truck before I realized the condition of the package. Not only that, the tracking information stated he left it in the mail box. The box is about two foot wide so cannot fit in a mailbox. One of the items was a book and luckily was shielded by two items that had packaging that resists water. Yes the inside of the box was wet.One entire side of the box was thoroughly wet and mushy, and the bottom of the box was wet also.My guess was that it was delivered to the wrong address where it sat in the rain and got soaked. The driver picked it up and then delivered it to my house and tried to cover his tracks by indicating it was put in the mail box. Not only that, it was raining hard all day, when he delivered the package to my house he set the package close the steps where rain could reach it instead of next to the door - another two feet - where it was dry under the overhang.If I had not noticed the delivery it would have sat in the rain and been swamped even more.My neighbors and I have had other package and mail delivery issues -deliveries to the wrong house. We used to have an outstanding mailman but he retired, since then it has been a number of different mail carriers.My neighbors and I know when the current guy is delivering mail because you we can hear him on his phone up to a few houses away, he is on his phone every single day. Another carrier we had would drop her cigarette butts on the drive, I would pick up 3 to 4 butts a week. One guy parked his truck right over my driveway approach, so there was no was to pull our car out. Whenever we order a package and find out USPS is delivering it we cross our fingers and hope for the best. I check the tracking info daily and have to check with the mailman on the "out for delivery day" to make sure it is delivered. Sometimes they forget and it sits on the truck, so now I give them a "Hey pal, I should have a package on your truck." I wish I could post a picture of the wet package.

I ordered an item that was shipped by UPS on February 12. Our local USPS now handles the delivery of small UPS packages in my area. Guess what! It got to the USPS within one day, but now it's been three weeks and still no package. This is ridiculous! My local postmaster called me to say my package was "somewhere in the Allen Park Distribution Center" and that he can't give me any sort of delivery estimate.

Attention to everyone affected by this location holding or losing your package. You're flagged for some reason. They wont tell you that, or why, or who flagged it. FYI, thats why your packages are always held here for days.

2nd posting. Now have 6 more parcels stuck at DDC for up to 2 weeks similar to problem reported last month. Just received an email stating that one of my last month casualties could not be located. Guess why? It was finally delivered 3 weeks after shipping! Obviously it is still unknown to them that they actually deleivered it. Really? The even stranger part is that if you look at the tracking for the package NOWHERE does it say that it was at DDC. Just shows 2 weeks worth of “in transit” until it miraculously shows up at my local PO for “Flash” (my delivery carrier - aptly misnamed) to deliver. Sounds like they are covering their tracks very well. Something very wrong going on here and there is nothing we can do about it but ride it out. USPS should have been privatized years ago. Grrrrrr...

My wife and I own a small Mom and Pop internet business, and all of our mail goes through Allen Park or Detroit. We send out 20 to 50 pieces of mail daily all across the country and have done so for over 10 years. While we do loose an occasional letter nationwide, the loss and delays that originate from Detroit / Allen Park are INTOLERABLE!! This facility needs to be investigated, and then closed or privatized. My first class small package cost has doubled in the last 10 years, yet the service through Detroit deteriorates. So far this year I have had an item stolen out of a package early January 2018, and mid-month I have 2 tracked packages that set there for over 2 weeks!! The oversight and supervision at this facility must be non-existent! I would suggest everyone who has trouble call your Congressman and complain - INSIST that SOMETHING BE DONE!! CLOSE OR PRIVATIZE THIS FACILITY!!

I've had a package stuck at this facility since the 22nd of Jan. It is now Jan. 30th and I'm still waiting for my package to leave this office & be delivered. This is the second time I've had a package get stranded at this office. The first time it sat there for a week & then you just returned it to sender instead of making any effort to deliver it. Now for the second time I'm waiting forever for a package to leave this facility & can't find out what the holdup is. This P.O is being poorly managed and something needs to change.

I worked for the Post Office for 19 years and the clerks complained constantly about the Detroit Distribution Center not moving the mail and had a different standard than the rest of the state because they are so inefficient. I have been retired for 20 years and it is still incompetent. I have regularly sent multiple Priority boxes to Florida over the years and NEVER has one been received in less than 5 days – not the promised 2-3 days. Maybe it is time to fire the entire Management staff at the Detroit Distribution Center and replace with some experienced Amazon employees They can get a package delivered in 2-3 working days -consistently.

USPS shows "USPS awaiting Item". 2 packages, shipped UPS Mail Innovations delivered to this facility 13 Jan 2018. I have 2 packages there from a Walmart order that says, "Dec 06 12:24 PM Shipment received, package acceptance pending Allen Park, Michigan". What does this mean? How long do I have to wait for the post office to deliver this?

The past few parts I ordered for my boat have sat at Allen Park facility for days. It's been showing up days after expected, and basically ruining my summer plans. It's only been the past few months, even my Amazon Prime packages get stuck here. What the hell is going on down there???

I have shipped priority mail 2 to 3 day delivery for many years and NEVER had anything like this happen. I called the post office in Plymouth Michigan because I mailed my daughter's birth certificate to her and it did not arrive. Amie's birthday is tomorrow and she was supposed to be married at her fiancé's mother's house. The post office in Plymouth claims the priority mail is 5 to 7 days and that her letter with the birth certificate is at the Allen Park sorting center and cannot be picked up by anyone but a federal employee. Her fiancé, Nick is a decorated United States Army soldier but he can't pick it up. I am sick over the entire mess, I have called several government offices but NO one will even try to help. So the wedding that Nick's mother spent so much time and money on will be a fake. I wish she could sue the post office for the inconvenience but the post office is blaming me. My daughter Amie will not enjoy the wedding as much as she could have and I am so sad for her and the entire family. I have never been treated so badly by people when trying so hard to get someone to help get the letter. They have no compassion. NOT their fault. I hate this, with a passion. The sad thing is no-one will have to answer for this!

You seem to have a problem in your post office. You either have no help or you have people waiting to see if they want packages. I receive every month 2 of the same craft packages from Stampin Up. This month my packages have sat 6 days until now sending one to Jackson, Michigan and the other to Ann Arbor, MI. Why in the world are you holding these so long. My other friends have already gotten theirs from other parts of the US???????????

My first package was scanned 7 times in Allen Park, and was delivered 24 days later. The second package was scanned 15 days ago in Allen Park, and has disappeared from tracking now. What the hell is going on down there? I never had a problem with USPS before, but now I can't even get an envelope delivered in a timely manner. Postmaster General, are you listening? I have seen my mail arrive at Allen Park, then sent out, then returned, then sit in this sorting facility for over a week. This one center alone represents the failure of the postal system. Good lord. Allen Park sorting center is the Hotel California of Michigan mail, it goes in, but never comes out!! One stupid stuffed animal has been processed twice, been there for 5 days. I understand they process a TON of stuff, but cheese and rice, you people are ridiculous.

So it looks like there is a huge problem with theft at this place. My insured, priority mail package mysteriously disappeared at the Allen park facility. Someone obviously stole it. The last place it was scanned is at Allen park. I've never had a lost package in my life, and after reading the comments I can see that there is tons of theft going on down there. I guess our state govt and law enforcement, and federal govt doesn't care. This is what you get when you put the govt in charge of anything. Rampant abuse, neglect, and disregard for anything and anybody. It's not their money and there are no consequences. Who's going to stop them? It's a license to steal. The other comment was right on about this state too. It's sad to see such a beautiful state deteriorating before our eyes. It's only getting worse and all the good people keep leaving.

What a horrible post office. I've never seen a postal service work so slowly in my life. Why they held my package for over 4 days is beyond my understanding. Does anyone work there? I hope there is a way to just avoid using this place any time I get a package sent to me!

Just had a first class mail package pass through this facility. Why they decided to hold it for 2 weeks is beyond the knowledge of anyone and obviously not the care of this facility. Looking at all the other comments, I think everyone would be better off if this facility closed. Just tell all the workers to go home. You have failed your customers time and time again. You don't answer phone calls, you don't hold yourself accountable, you give horrible attitude and service toward customers, and let's face it, you just don't care. Do society a favor and go home, close the door, and don't come out.

If you read at the top of the page you see $51,000.00 no experience necessary there is the whole problem no one knows what they are doing. My package is already 7 days late and they say it is in transit sense Feb.7 and still says it. If you don't train people right can't do the job right very very poor service. It would nice if someone would address our problems.

I order a great deal of items on line. They always seem to go through the Allen Park location. In tracking the items, I have noticed this branch seems to work incredibly fast and I receive my items on a timely basis (usually much faster than estimated). Kudos to the Allen Park USPS Branch. Thank you.

It is not the Allen Park post office that looses the mail. It's the sorting center. And even then they only misplace it. Yes we get upset when something gets lost, but face it do you still have all your small spoons in your drawer or are half of them gone?

Re: the Allen Park Distribution Center. Mailed a package for $50. It appears to be stuck or lost or stolen. Last tracking put it in the Allen Park Center. Arrived there Dec 22 in the morning an apparently has not moved since then. Time sensitive since my package is Christmas presents. NO information and there is no one to figure it out. Seems there are many very negative reviews about this station. Either get the job done or close!

My three packages has been there since the 16th, What a poor excuse for a post office its no wonder the postal service gets a bad rap. I believe they have some poor management and not enough help . Guess I have to wait till after Christmas.

I ordered holiday cards a bit late this year, but they were expected to be here by the 16th. Well, they've been sitting at Allen Park since the 16th and it's now the 22nd... I guess everyone's getting holiday cards for Valentine's Day this year...

I ordered a package from 36 miles away. The postal system sent it to 3 sorting facilities. Total of 93 miles. Seems like the're losing money because of their system. Criss-crossing the metro area. Novi to downtown Detroit to Allen Park to Pontiac to Clinton twp. Ridiculous system.

I am now a member of the Allen Park Distribution Center's victim club. I have a registered package that took 1 day to get from New Jersey to Allen Park but has now been in Allen Park for a week. The final destination is Trenton, 11 miles away. I have gone to the Trenton Post Office and called the customer service number for lost packages and no one can help. What good is the tracking with no follow-up when something is missing? The Post Office wonders why they are losing money...I would rather use anyone else when given a choice. Even a carrier pigeon is more reliable.

this place and the distribution center are the biggest joke of the usps.. I have read nothing but terrible comments and now I have one! I bought something from a guy out east and it ended up at this horrible place by mistake and says it departed January 24.. well no such thing.. it is lost in space I guess... nobody can answer us where it is or why I have not received it in Nebraska or why it hasn't been returned to the sender.. my post office has confirmed they saw it and the first number of zip got smudge to look like 4 instead of a six and it ended up in this he double hockey sticks hole... and the government wonders why it get such a bad rap...

Every other post office in the country my packages have gone through, they arrive and they depart the same day. Every single time... But not here! And what a huge surprise it's dirty ass Michigan. The person i ordered it from was incompetent and the post office is incompetent. Last time i order anything from anyone from the dirty trash filled state of Michigan.

I have a Kickstarter package that was sent from Ny on Sept 21 it got to Allen park on Aug 27 I live in michigan and the my Package has not arrived, it has been 22 days and it has not come to my address. I ordered a package on August 15th 2015 it was scanned into Allen Park Michigan sorting facility on August 16th 2015, today is September 5th 2015 and I have still not received my package. I have called and left tracking number with my contact information and nothing. I Should've received my package in Ohio August 19th. Why is this facility so horrible? My Brother's in law school and each semester they pick a case and the entire class works on it. He brought up Allen Park USPS sorting facility and the mysterious disappearance of packages. Allen Park needs to be investigated like ASAP. Who's stealing packages? Tampering with mail is a felony! Agree Allen Park is terrible. I have tracking that shows my item has been sitting there for over 9 days. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. I order tons of small parts, and on average I am watching them sit in Allen Park for over 4 days. We are begging are suppliers to stop using USPS. First class mail from Kentucky to Michigan is taking 2 and half weeks?

There is a National Distribution Center (NDC) in Allen Park. When you
are tracking a package and it shows it is in Allen Park, unless you are
sending it to AP, it is at the NDC. When you go to the website or call
the 800 number they give you the number for the local AP Post Office.
Thats why its hard to reach them. Sometimes they have to stop answering
the phone so they can do their jobs. I've been dealing with this PO
for years and it's a nice little office.

I have a small pkg that made it in 2 days from California to Allen Park Facility, 5 days later it was processed thru, then showed as departing Allen Park, then 2 days later shows processed thru Allen Park, then departing AGAIN, now 9 days later still no pkg showing up in Ohio, 2 hours from this facility. Now the previous entries of processing and departing have been deleted by them so it does not show their complete INCOMPETENCE - THIS IS THE WORST USPS FACILITY EVER!!!!!

I was actually about to overnight my Federal Taxes at this post office branch since it is open on Saturday and the Tax deadline is Wednesday. Thank you to all those who posted comments warning against this post office... It could have been a very costly mistake, had I went there and the Federal Government never received my taxes and I could have incurred hefty penalties and fees. Thanks again fellow citizens.

Wow what a bad system. I have a incoming first class international letter that was hung up in Chicago customs for 2 weeks. Then one day I received notification that it left and was received in Allen Park. Since then, Allen Park scans it (almost) everyday, as "Departed Facility". I have been getting these messages for 10 days now. I am absolutely going crazy, and nobody con do a thing for me. I could understand the delay if it was 1920, not 2015....

I don't know what is going on over there but please figure out what the problem is.I mail out things all over there world and I do buy things now and then.I ordered something as a gift and it was to be here (in Ohio) sent from Ca.When it left Allen park it went BACK to Ca. and is now coming back this way AGAIN.I have sent things PRIORITY and you would think that paying the extra $ would get it there ,at least within a day or two but NO 2 1|2 WEEKS later they get their package and this is not the only time this has happened .It is a regular thing.What ?Doesn't anyone over there know how to read?To scan properly??I could of drove there and delivered it quicker.Not. Happy .AT.ALL.

This is the only post office that I go to unless I have no other option. I live in Taylor and there are 5 other post offices that I could go to but go to Allen Park. They are very friendly and helpful. I bring in a lot of items, every time and I've never had an issue. Every one makes mistakes but having sent thousands of packages in my life, this is hands down the best post office I have ever gone to.

Sent out my INSURED package to Virginia beach for my daughter and 5 yr old grandson, my S-I-L is in the Navy and will not be home for Christmas, no friends, no family ... And now no Christmas. The package should of been delivered today and nothing was received...... It was never scanned OUT from the Allen park post office to Virginia
Beach. Inquires have been sent to allen park post office and no reply back....

And folks wonder why citizens get upset when Thu is a hike in postage stamps!! Why would Allen Park post office send my package to Monroe, Michigan when I live in Detroit, Michigan??? Can ANYBODY read???

This place ran over my package! They are bloody lucky it was not breakable! This happens again, they will be paying to replace my items!
