I shipped a package from Whitesburg on 2/4/2021 to my son Priority mail. I checked and it indicated that it was delivered on 2/6/2021. However, my son, who was home all day, never received the package. He is on a second floor of a condiminium. The satellite view the Postmaster at Whitesburg showed me indicated it was simply left at the building. Another employee recommended I file a claim. The Postmaster intervened and said it was an issue for the police department and explained ad nauseam how she has no idea how or where the package was left since she isn't at the destination. Frankly, I don't care if she is the Postmaster or the King of the Mountain: the way she refuted the responsibility of the USPS was disappointing to say the least, infuriating since my Aunt worked at USPS for 50 years, and gives credence to the reputation of government workers doing the minimum to collect a check. Frankly, I think she needs an education in customer service and USPS policy.
I was supposed to have a package delivered Monday 12/4. It’s marked as delivered but there was no package at my door and I live far enough into the country to where I know no one would take it. I’ve gone up to the office to tell them and I was told I’d get a call by the end of the day. No one called back. I’ve called the office and no one answers. Because of the snow storm, we had a different carrier and that person said she would report it and have some one call me the following day. No one has called. Now SOL on a package and will have to despute the charge. Thanks, whitesburg USPS, for nothing.
