I sent a certified, return receipt letter on March 31,2015, from Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The letter arrived in San Diego (92199) on April 4, 2015 at 5:56 am. The track and confirm status states it is DELAYED in delivery at 92199 San Diego. You pay extra to make sure your letter is delivered and the United States Postal Service cannot perform their duty. I can see why they operate in the RED. If this was the private sector they would be out of business. I will do all I can in letter writing and the social network to spread of the incompetence of the United States Postal Service.

These hours are not correct, the Passport Office operates Tues - Sat now, for some unknown reason. Appointments are scarce and necessary; the office will not set up an appointment, you have to call another number not listed (800-801-9801... there, I saved you a trip). The office does not have a copy machine, I was told that's in case it were to break, nobody would have to wait longer. There is, however, a coin-operated and I'm assuming hand-crank copy machine in the lobby, luckily it's 2014 and my fancy modern office has a copier, otherwise take some spare change or something.Oh, and don't call the main number listed unless you enjoy hearing a ringtone until you give up.

Extremely frustrating to use the service. The machine picks up every time with no person calling me back.
