I received a Christmas card and a wedding invitation today ( Jan.4, 2023) that was postmarked Dec 21, 2022, with the North Houston address. This is unacceptable for this service to take this long. Local post office has had numerous other complaints about the mail not being forwarded in the appropriate time for delivery. Something or someone needs to rectify the situation at this facility
MY PACKAGE HAS BEEN OUT FOR DELIVERY SINCE MAY 4TH. ALREADY CALLED AND ENSURED THEY HAD THE CORRECT ADDRESS AND STILL NO PACKAGE HAS BEEN DELIVERED AND NO EXPLANATION. NOW THEY WONT EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE AT NW DISTRIBUTION CENTER.
My package was shipped on January 29, 2021, and it still has not arrived in the Dominican Republic yet. (Today, is May 7, 2021) Tracking information states the package is "stuck" in Chicago. I would appreciate a call from consumer affairs regarding this issue.
My daughter sent a package from an APO in Germany on 26 Feb 2021. It left Elk Grove Village, IL in transit to North Houston Facility on 8 March 2021, and still nothing. So sad. I keep calling. Apparently claims can be made from an APO between 75-365 days. JUST deliver my package already please.
My mail has been seating at this facility since 02/13/21. It hasn't moved since then. What is frustrating is that no one knows anything. How can this level people get paid for not doing their jobs. Can the leadership take responsibility here?
I have been waiting on a Priority Mail package from Tennessee to Michigan that has been sitting in this facility since 2/9. Is mail moving again from there? I haven't been able to get any real answers other than the canned response from USPS.

I cannot figure out how to contact these people. I got a card from someone in that post code and the envelope had been torn open and then sloppily re-sealed with cello-tape. It was postmarked Dec 15 and I just got it on the 22nd. Are their sorting machines broken? Was there a theft that was recovered and re-sent? Was it an employee looking for gift cards and money?

I have a craft business and I sent a package to California, on November 27th, 2020. Today is December 7th, 2020 and the package is still at this location. I also called to see if I could talk to someone, I and had to leave a message. I'm wondering if there is a way to avoid packages being sent to this location when items are shipped. I have a package that has been sitting at this facility for a month. No luck with talking to anyone, they send you a letter stating they received your complaint but nothing more is done. Time to do some employee firing for not doing their jobs
Had a priority envelope sent from Livingston, TX to Florida on August 14. Tracking shows it entered this facility on that date, and has not been seen since. I called three times -- only once have I been able to talk to a human being, and that person said, "Give it a few more days", which I did. And now nothing. And I can't reach anyone when I call now. Have to leave voicemails. Is this COVID related, or DeJoy sabotage related? Either way, that envelope was pretty damn important, containing info and items of value, and I can't get it now because this facility continues their track record of horrible service. SO frustrating!
This has nothing to do with DeJoy's comments and everything to do with the competency of the workers on the ground. The article doesn't even put forth a good argument for why they workers slowed down after hearing DeJoy's statement. Look at the uspsoig website and you'll see that this particular location has had serious issues long before the current administration. Stop reaching.

So I tracked that this location received my package back in June of 2020. I went to my local post office and the attendant told me there was nothing they or I could do regarding this missing pkg. He stated, "they don't deal with customers, they don't answer the phones, and they won't/don't do any further in tracking of pkgs that go missing from that location. You need to ask for a refund and maybe order it again but, there is nothing we can do". I personally feel that this is pitiful and feel like what a failure of our tax payer dollars that we cannot hold this location accountable considering all the mail processing that goes through it and the complaints. Postal employee don't read this, ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Then this is just a site to give us some release in venting but, they really don't care. I feel there is a lot of thief going on inside and they are immune from being accountable. They police themselves and set their own rules. We should demand change here. Boycott and bring attention to this location that force change. After all we are paying them people! I can't image how many mail in votes might get "lost" if they go through here. PITIFUL! Who can we write, who can we complain to that can bring about change.
I have a package today that has been stalled in the North Houston Distribution Center for the last 6 days. The package moved along normally until it got here. I do not understand how this can be. Apparently this is not a new problem, they seem to have some basic sorting and/or losing mail problems here..

I paid for expedited shipping to receive something very important to me and it's scheduled delivery was last Friday. Once my package arrived at this sorting facility August 1st it hasn't moved or updated since. After now reading so many of these reviews I doubt I'll ever see it. It's clear there's an issue at this facility and it would be nice if the USPS would do something about it.
I received a package today that was stalled in the North Houston Distribution Center for 6 days. The package took only 2 days to get to the North Houston Distribution Center and 6 days to get to me. I do not understand how this can be. Apparently this is not a new problem. There have been numerous posts from concerned patrons for many years now. Just sayin....
I hate seeing my packages go through this facility. I've seen my stuff just sitting there for several days or longer. I especially hate seeing my packages tendered there from UPS. They must have a special place in the corner to put these so they don't have to deal with them until they feel like it. I don't think it's so much of a theft issue "although I have no doubt it does happen" but rather a lazy and careless one. If it wasn't for the extra cost I'd have my packages shipped straight UPS or FedEx and not have to deal with the crap.
I drive by this large building with huge air conditioners on the roof all the time looking longingly hoping they will one day get it together and find my lost mail and bring it to me. I don't care that it's a distribution center, at the very least distribute the mail please and put a quality procees into place. There's plenty of people inside to do this work judging from the full parking lots.
My package was shipped on May 4th from Portsmouth, NH. It arrived at the North Houston Distribution Center on May 13 and the tracking history said it was "In Transit to Next Facility" on May 17. No updates after that. Today is May 28, 2020. I would agree that there is a serious problem at this facility with theft. I have filed an online complaint with the USPS Inspector General. I tried to speak to someone at the number listed at their website, 888-877-7644, but could only leave a message. This is terrible violation of our property and needs to be investigated by the authorities. It is no different than stealing mail or packages from our mailboxes, which is a federal offense! If I don't receive a response from someone immediately I will be filing a police report as well!
I purchased a clutch of of Ebay and I thought it would be here on Friday, May 12. It is now May 19 2020, and the tracking # just stopped at this warehouse. Why is this company BUCKING the system? The good business concepts is getting SCREWED up by this warehouse.Based on reviews that I have read on this site, i am not the only one affected. Based on the reviews that I am reading, that packages are disappearing, after it lands at North HoustonTexas Distribition Center, and tracking number says that it is in transit to the next facility center, and then the packages disappear, and are never found, means their is a thief in the facility. The fact that the same thing has happened to me, leaves me no choice but to take drastic measures. So this is a warning to this distribution center:
I mailed my package through priority mail $15 on 05/07/20, a week ago. If it does not reach my destination, I will be filing a police report for theft, so that an investigation can be opened, since so many people are being victimized, with the same story. I will not allow a post office employee to steal from me, and my mother, during this pandemic. I have tried contacting this distribution center by phone and no one answers, the message clearly states that the voicemail is full. I will not be victimized during this stressful time in history.
Well, I’ve officially given up hope. My $165 package was shipped via Priority Mail on February 29th, originating from
Dickinson, TX. That was a Saturday, but why it even took until March the 4th to arrive at this Houston Sorting Facility is beyond me, considering I live in Indiana & the package should’ve already been in my mailbox on Tuesday, Wednesday AT THE LATEST.
Anyhow, I’ve since opened two different service inquiries, but neither have gotten me anywhere. Even more, my local Postmaster has sent this silly excuse of a processing center COUNTLESS emails in an attempt to track down my (rather expensive) item & they’re so incredibly pathetic they won’t even respond to emails from other branches of USPS!!! That speaks VOLUMES. Thanks so much for taking such SPECTACULAR care of my package!!! I’m certain either one of you employees is loving my item or my package is sitting in some abandoned bin wasting away!!

I have checked with USPS tracking and cannot get a reply as to where my package is. Can you PLEASE tell me what is going on? I sent a pkg last month, tracking shows it ended up here, then said in transit to next destination, but it never was scanned again, and place said N/A. I had to refund the customer $119.95 for a motor & shipping. I took it as a loss. Fast Forward to this month, I purchased an item on ebay, the seller dropped it off April 14th, it stayed in this location 4 days, April 18th it said in transit to next destination, and has not updated since, same as with the other missing package. When you check the tracking, in transit to next location, place N/A . My package’s been stuck at the North Houston facility since April 16th with no further updates. I shipped from Europe, so it is really disappointing to see that during these difficult times of the pandemic the package successfully reached TX only to remain stuck at the Houston facility. Currently, I am also having issues with the recipient of the package, which makes it even more stressful and nerve racking. Serious measures must be taken here. This is unacceptable!
Same deal, except I have a package I ordered that says it was there on April 14th, then on April 18th, it changed to in transit to next destination but hasn't updated since, when looking for the location it says N/A. Had the same ordeal happen last month on a pkg I shipped that ended up in the same location. It said it arrived here, then said in transit to next location, place N/A. Somebody is either taking pkgs out of there or they are not tending to pkgs and letting them sit.

It is now 4/15/2020 & I should have received by 4/13/2020. From reading the reviews, this location need thorough investigations for Theft. With the pandemic at this time families don't need the extra stress of not receiving their products. I'm also guessing from the reviews I will never get my pkg. The North Houston Distribution center has major issues, one of them I believe is theft of mail. Someone should really investigate this post office location. I send a lot of packages by Certified Mail and it seems whenever they go through this distribution center it goes missing and there are no scans after it gets received at this center. I dont have any faith in our USPS but someone has got to be stealing the mail if this many packages go missing or they better check the dumpster in the back, because someone is taking it to the next level to get out of doing any work. Trying to reach anyone or get anyone to investigate anything is like worse then pulling teeth. Trust me, I would rather have my teeth pulled than to have to deal with the USPS. Their call center is no better. After holding for 2 hours you end up talking to someone who knows nothing and leads you in the wrong direction. No wonder why people dont want to use USPS anymore.

I ordered from Amazon and forgot to change the address, called my P.O.(they're holding our mail) and asked them to please forward it. Sure thing, she said, but you'll have to pay the postage due. I said that's okay since it was my fault that it had the incorrect address. We hung up...that was 3!weeks ago and I still do not have the pkg. I've checked and it has traveled between North Houston D.C and Lufkin 4!, count them 4 times! I think that when (wishful thinking here) I do get it it should be the freaking post office that pays for 'extra postage'. Absolutely insane. Get your poop together folks and get the job done!!
This sort facility has major issues. Packages are delivered to the WRONG local post Office, and NEVER seen (or tracked) again. Its been an ongoing issue for YEARS. How the USPS is able to operate with 0 accountability or liability is simply amazing. I too, am going to contact my local state representative, who happens to be right down the street.
The North Houston Distribution Center location is plagued with overwhelming issues.The packages arriving at this location frequently go missing and reaching anyone there is impossible. I have a packaged that arrived at the facility on November 29, 2019. Since then the trail went cold and I have yet to receive my package.
I have been calling the center nearly every day, multiple times a day, for the past six weeks. No answer with the voicemail box always being full.
This is type of service is not acceptable at any place, particularly for a government agency. Location such as this should not be in service due to inability to properly distribute packages and non-existent customer service.

It is my understanding that this facility was badly damaged by tropical storm Imelda 9-19-19 and will be closed for some time. This was in the news - "During the storm yesterday the roof collapsed on the US Postal Service North Houston Sorting and Distribution Center. This is the largest sorting facility in the country."
This is putting a huge dent in mail going in and out of Houston. Plan accordingly.
I sent a package from my town in Texas to Humble Tx on 8/20/19. As of today it still shows STUCK in the North Houston Facility. I've put a tracer on it with my ph# and email addr, but no replies as of today 9/4. I've tried calling but a recorded msg says the # cannot be completed as dialed. I've emailed Senator Ted Cruz today. I certainly agree with everyone else on here that something really needs to be done about this place.
A couple of years ago I mailed a 5" x 7" brown envelope containing gift cards from Texas to New York. I don't remember if it was certified or registered but it had tracking. Our local PO got it out promptly and when it reached the North Houston PO it was "lost" there for a solid month. For 4 weeks they didn't know where it was. UNbelievable.

My prescription medicine has 'disappeared' from this location - again. In reading the reviews it's obvious the issues have been going on for years and years. I contacted customer service with no result. I'm contacting my congressmen, Senator Ted Cruz (https://www.cruz.senate.gov/) and Senator John Cornyn (https://www.cornyn.senate.gov/) - on the websites there is a link to send the Senators a message AND an address to send a letter. First my package gets sent back and forth to two different places until I contact usps through email. Then another very important package gets sent here and for 3 days it just sits here no update to tracking my package was supposed to be arriving 4 days ago.

what a nightmare. i mailed a parcel via 2 day priority mail with a signature confirmation, was supposed to be delivered 03/26 and once it ended up in this north houston "bermuda triangle place" it disappeared. my parcel has been missing now for 10 days and counting, no progress, no updates, no nothing. contacted usps customer service and got an email back saying the parcel has not been scanned after it left this north houston distribution center. well, yeah i know that, but what the heck happened to it where is it now???????????????????? they cannot even help with anything. absolutely useless. what a nightmare!!!!!

Great....I'm reading all these reviews and online articles and just feeling sick. I sent a DNA sample off last Friday (3/9/18), as I'm trying to research family ancestry. It was supposed to be delivered to the ancestry location there in Houston on Monday. I just tracked it via USPS and it shows that it arrived there at North Houston on 3/11/18. It shows "in transit to next facility" for the next 3 days, and then shows it's delayed and won't be delivered as expected. I sent it first class, so I do have a tracking number but no insurance. I hope I don't have to start all over! Ugh!

Tampering with or stealing USPS mail is a felony since the United States Postal Service is a government agency, yet it seems that packages that appear to contain small things of value such as jewelry, phones or money are consistently delayed or completely disappear here. They appear to be performing illegal activities there, yet are not holding those accountable responsible for their employee's conduct.
MY PACKAGE ARRIVED AT THIS CENTER ON THE 03FEB18 , IT CAME FROM LOS ANGELES SHOWING A DELAYED UPDATE. Waiting on a package that has been sitting at the North Houston Texas Distribution Center since January 31. Maybe this facility needs to be investigated again by ABC like they were in November 2015. From personal experience and reading the comments below, it sounds like nothing has changed.
Really very disappointing about this place like you see all have a Negative feedback until we got on this location. I've never had a problem with the USPS until my package went through North Texas. Almost 1 month and still no package delivered to my client. it had been in "transit" for 4 days since "left North Texas postal office location" when the destination is Houston as well. I called their office they told me was the weather...since was first class is no insurance..they probably stole my item. Very frustrated with this super bad service.

Me too! Was supposed to be there on the 21st. Tracking says the same as yours. Calling the help line is useless. It's unfair that they say mail it by this date to get it by Christmas and then they drop the ball. At this point, theres no telling when it will get there. Of course, I mailed the entire family their gifts to one address because they will all be together. They wont be all together again for several months.

A box was sent to me Priority Mail on December 4, 2017 from Maine to me in TEXAS. It made it to North Houston Distribution on December 8th and then they SENT IT BACK TO MAINE! Maine received it and sent it back to Texas on December 11th. I have called countless times to several post offices....get the same issue...that there is a label issue. But the entire time it showed my Magnolia, Tx zip code on the tracking history and yet it never made it to Magnolia. As of last night at 2am the box is BACK in North Houston. I am worried that it is going to be sent back to Maine again and not to Magnolia. If it would just get to Magnolia...I know I would get it. Frustrated that North Houston Distribution Center has so many issues. This is not the first time that this has happened to me once a parcel reaches North Houston.

I shipped from Florida to go to NY and it made it to Rochester and then sent to North Houston facility same thing too label issue but still shows the destination of record! This location is absolutely awful. I have never had an issue receiving mail before. While tracking my packing since November 24th, it was processed and sent to the next location day by day until hitting this location. My package has not moved in over 7 days. The estimated delivery time has long been passed by. Why is nothing happening at this location??
What in the hell happens to packages that go to this facility? We know they are just parked there for days. Not specific to holidays and high traffic. This is the worst location to try to get mail through. It is either horribly mismanaged or deliberately understaffed. If it's understaffed that's mismanagement on a higher level. It's a blackhole and may or may not regurgitate your mail. Doesn't three days from North Houston to Katy seem a little ridiculous?

Packages from Amazon are almost always on time. Any other package is always a day late and once it reaches the facility no more tracking is made available until it goes out for delivery the day after it originally shows to be delivered.
I've never had a problem with the USPS until my package went through North Texas. Almost 2 months and still no package. I've wasted many phone minutes and time on trying to get this resolved but it seems like they want me to just throw my hands up in the air and forget about it. It's not gonna happen. I've already started a process with the better business bureau and next I will be starting a lawsuit. Seriously, we should all come together and sue the shit out of this place.
I bought something on eBay. The item was shipped from Vietnam. The tracking showed the item is still at this God forsaken north Houston shit hole after 8 weeks. FBI need to raid this location. I think the workers are re-selling people's stuff. There is an organized crime ring in that place. How can we all be complaining about same thing and no one is doing anything to correct this. Payed for 2 day shipping to go from the Houston location to my house in Schertz, Tx. My package was sent to New York, and when I called to ask about my package, I got rude customer service, and I was told there was nothing they could do. Then they hung up on me. Worst service I've ever experienced. I don't understand why my package is across the country when it should be at my house. Tomorrow, I'm driving the 3 hour drive to Houston to get my package. Because it shouldn't take over 2 days for my package to arrive. And my package definitely shouldn't be in New York. I spoke to a representative at the USPS by my house and they agreed that my package should not be in New York. I was denied any possibility of a refund. But that's okay, I'm gonna go to Houston and get it myself.
I want to say the mail carrier knocks one time and leaves the package at the door for someone to steal don't give a handicap person a chance to get to the door the mail carrier is gone fast before I can say anything to that person please wait for me to get to the door thank you
Just a heads up on this place, they don't update the info on the tracking page in real time, you may experience a several hour delay. For me it was still showing they were sitting on it and I actually had my package for 6 or 7 hours. That's right 6 or 7 HOURS. Forget about driving over to the actual location to try and get your package, they won't have a clue on what to do with you when you arrive. Only way you'll get it is if you have a PO Box here. 2 day priority flat letter mailed from 77664 to 77808 on 5/2/16. Tracking info shows it departing 77664 that evening, going to Beaumont, TX, 77707 (which is normal routing for mail from origin, 77664) departing Beaumont same evening, arriving at North Houston 77315 5/3/16. THEN the next 4 days, bouncing back and forth Beaumont, 77707, TWICE, and has been sitting at 77315 with the tracking message "processing exception" and being handled at the local office and shipping would not be on timeðŸ˜ˆ now it's 5 days late to 77808, Bryan, TX
Received text this morning, 5/11/16 stating that envelope was received at destination post office this morning. What I have found out is that NHDC is sorting at this facility is automated. The least li'l error will kick it out (ex: If you do not address pkg according to postal guidelines, put East instead of E, Highway instead.of HWY, etc.) and can sit there until someone is able to be reached (slim chance) to research it. I'm sure most of y'all have figured some of this out by now, however, I feel like this facility should be investigated and much more hands-on application! How is this facility still running like this?! I have the same story as everyone else. My packages was shipped 2-day priority, received by the North Houston facility on 1-10-16 to be delivered on 1-11-16 and It is still not in my hands 4 days later. The tracking still says it will be delivered on the 11th. Terrible terrible terrible!

WHAT IS GOING ON AT THIS PLACE. I sold something on eBay to a buyer and the package has been STUCK AT THIS LOCATION FOR OVER 10 DAYS!!! 11/28/2015 I am having the same issues as everyone else here. I see it going back 2 years!! Really!!!! Does this happen to just "some" people or are there "many" who have mailed letters or packages held up here at North Houston. There has got to be a way where our frustrations can be communicated and someone would actually care about the reputation of the USPS. Terrible. I'm going to go to the local PO where I mailed my package and demand some answers.
Did anyone find a way to get their package? A phone number or a certain facility they went to get it? I have called 713-226-3442 and will visit the North Houston Facility today. My package was scanned on Monday at 4:01pm and now that history has been erased. It doesn't show it was scanned in Houston anymore, last shows it in Transit from Chicago. HOW CAN THEY REMOVE THE HISTORY LIKE THAT!?!
The North Houston Sorting Facility is absolutely the worst. I have had a package sitting at this facility for 2 months, had it re shipped and that one has been sitting there for 3 weeks. (Checked with tracking) my post office says the trouble all begins with North Houston. Don't bother to pay for Prority 1 or 2 day shipping, it gets there in a week if you are lucky. Wish I knew how to report this but that office doesn't answer phone calls. I think I am going to call the U.S. Generals office to see what can be done. This is horrible and unacceptable!!!!
I sent a package on 9/9 with 2 days priority mail, but it was still in the North Houston Sorting Facility since I checked with my family on 9/26 and they did not receive it I called customer service on 9/29 and was told the package would be returned to me in 6-10days. However, I have not received the package returned as of 10/19/2015. I checked today and saw the message " Your item departed our USPS destination facility in NORTH HOUSTON, TX 77315 on September 26, 2015 at 10:14 pm. The item is currently in transit to the destination." I WAS CONFUSED!

This place need an overhaul bad. They have lost 3 large priority rate boxes this week that I have sent out. 2 other boxes got delivered but looked like they tried everything they could to destroy them. Very sad indeed, I can only imagine how many mistakes this place makes.

What a disorganized mess. My package was sent beck here two times and has a very readable address on it. It is sending in a bend and no one will get off the butt to get it and send it to my zip code. I have called 3 times now and it has been over a week that it has sat there.
I totally get why people don't use USPS much anymore. My package that I needed by today has been sitting in this facility according to the tracker since 7/25 and hasn't moved. It was shipped priority express and is still sitting there! Will never use USPS again, back to UPS and Fed Ex for me!
The North Houston Sorting Center continues to be the boulder in the middle of the road when it comes to moving mail through the USPS out of Houston. Time and again I have had packages sit there for up to 3 days during very non-peak, non-holiday times of the year. To be fair, most of my shipments indeed move through very quickly, but the problem we all face is that we have no confidence that a package transiting this facility will in fact move on time. Far too many times, packages linger, and it's a roll of the dice every time you send something. The lack of tracking information is equally appalling. I have had several packages this year show 'Received', but then no other information until Tracking shows it at a sorting center across the country, while my customer is wanting to know where his package is. I also have to question some of the routing of packages that this facility processes. A month ago, I sent a 1-day priority mail package from Spring, TX to Sugarland, TX, both of which are suburbs of Houston, and the routing took the package to Dallas and back, resulting in a 2-day delivery. I believe USPS aims for a 98% success rate on moving priority mail on time, but it's hard for me to believe the North Houston Center is able to achieve that rate.
My package has been "stuck" at the facility for over a week. I am so sick and tired of this failure of a system. I cannot believe this mess. Absolutely an embarrassment. I WANT MY SHIPMENT THAT I PAID FOR.
It is obvious this facility is in serious need of personal change!! A few weeks ago I got a letter back that was taped to a box that originated in California which contained a novel and dvd that was supposed to obviously go to a library somewhere!! Now, I again have a certified letter just sitting there for over 2 days according to the tracking number! I am likely going to contact my cousin who works in Washington DC and works with the Post Master General to see if he can get some action with this facility!!! I hate to pull certain strings I have, but this is ridiculous and needs to be changed NOW!!!

my package has been in north Houston since June 10. Scan 10 times and one time miss shipped on June 12. Back in north Houston on June 18 scan every day and still there on June 24, Have had NO LUCK GETTING HELP!!!!!!
Well friends, here's another update, ALL my customers FINALLY received their orders, and on GOOD FRIDAY at that! Exactly one (1) month later! Unreal! Nonetheless, all my items arrived safely to their destinations and my customers couldn't be happier. Good luck everyone!
It's been 6 days now sence we shipped out using the two day priority mail shipping. This isn't the only big city we lived in Down Town NY. And never had this problem. It's the management going on here is the problem. We need to do something to get a new manager involved and everything more organized professionally

UPDATE: Hello again, I'd like to give you another update to my last message, I finally received a call back from USPS Consumer Affairs (713) 226-3237, yesterday. The lady I spoke to, Brenda, says that it wasn't just one facility that shut down, it was 3 of them! Houston, Austin and Beaumont, Texas, and all are being rerouted to one Sorting Facility! Wow, it just keeps getting better. Anyhow, this drastic change came about on January 1st and has affected mail from Jan 1st through now. She did say that some mail that is caught through their machine is getting out faster than the ones being sent out manually. She also said to give her another 2 or 3 days to locate them and have them processed immediately. She'll confirm with me either Friday or Monday at the latest. I'll keep ya'll posted. I shipped 4 items on March 5, 2015 with expected delivery by March 9, 2015. Here we are the 24th and tracking shows that my items still have not left my local post office at 77017. On March 11, 2015, I sent out 1 more item with expected delivery by March 17, 2015 and that one still shows it has not left my local post office at 77017. On March 13, 2015, I sent out 2 more items with expected delivery by March 16, 2015 and those finally made it to our North Houston Sorting Facility on March, 14, 2015. Now how did these last 2 make it to our sorting facility before the first 5? Nonetheless, I called the USPS at (800) 275-8777 and filed a claim, TWICE! The first time I called, They took all my info down with tracking numbers and said that someone would contact me within 72 hours. A WEEK passed so I called back. Someone apparently closed my claim so it had to be re-opened. This was last week. In doing some research, I found out that Houston had 2 Sorting facilities. One was located in Downtown Houston, which was recently closed down and all packages and mail are being rerouted to the North Houston Sorting Facility. Apparently the facilities machine cannot handle such heavy loads that the post office has to sort everything out MANUALLY which the machine doesn't catch. Mail can be delayed as long as 30 days! Here we are the 24th of March and my customers are now seeking REFUNDS! I was finally able to reach someone about an hour ago at the USPS Consumer Affairs Division. I called ... (713) 226-3442 Ext 2005 A lady answered and I explained my situation. She said to give her only 1 tracking number. After I gave it to her, she said her computer is down and asked for my phone number and she'd call me back as soon as her computer comes back up. Hmmmm, its been over an hour, so they must not be getting any work done if their computers are still down. I will post another comment shortly with an update if someone returns my calls.
What an f***ing joke this place is. Do they have a bunch of over paid geriatric mongoloids addicted to meth working there? The supervisor needs to be sh*t canned. My package has sat there for five days now. So much for paying for priority. Everything is bigger in Texas... even the amount of ignorant scum f*ck tornado bait inbred special people they produce. Likewise, we operate a small online business and we are losing so much money because the orders that we painstakingly ship on time sit in this facility for an unbelievably long period of time -over a week to 10 days!!! Even the packages that paid "priority 3-days" take about a week before they leave this North Facility! This has been going on for about 3 months now! It is even getting worst! We lost so much money with the December packages that never made it to the Eve. We tried calling, filing a complaint but they just refuse to cooperate. ALL our packages are stuck in this NORTH Facility for days! We are seriously considering FedEx. Emailing angry customers back and forth about this issue is tedious and so time-consuming! Nobody has time for this!
I send hundreds of packages per month using the USPS and am familiar with most sorting centers around the country. The North Houston Sort Facility is hands down the WORST in the country and probably worse than a lot of 3rd world countries. 95% of my First Class Packages sit in thIs facility for over a week before ANY movement.ABYSMAL!
This post office has really gone down. I used to receive packages shipped through this facility early. Now they are always at least a day late according to tracking/shipping info. I've also noticed my packages sitting here for two days according to tracking. They are either holding the packages longer than they should or the tracking info is all jacked up. This is ridiculous on either account
I recommend that EVERYBODY call the Office of the Inspector General: 866 644 5696 FLOOD THEM WITH COMPLAINTS AND SOMETHING WILL HAVE TO BE DONE!

i had placed an order that was shipped feb 17th 2015. On feb 21st there was an update that my package arrived at this office. it is not the 7th and there has been no further update i am in Canada and my package was to be shipped with 3-5 business days. Well, it took me forever to reach someone at that facility... DO dial the 713-226-3442 and the extension that worked for me was 2006, some guy named John but a woman picked up. She told me she couldn't do anything to make the package move faster through processing... And even though she wasn't able to give me a date for the arrival, she was helpful and contacted the facility that would deliver my package based on area (Katy in my case). I told her I needed to receive my order by Monday because I am traveling and it cannot just sit outside my door. I asked if I could just come pick it up, and she said that it is a distribution location and it is not open to the public. She helped me by canceling the shipment and redirecting it back to the sender. I then went ahead and called the store and got refunded. Of course this won't be everybody's case, I'm sure most people here just want to get their order and not just cancel it. Hope this feedback helps.
This facility is horrible!!! Its the worst!! i own an online business and when my shipments arrive to this facility, it always sits there for 5-7 business days!! HORRIBLE!! I ordered something over 15 days ago (3 day shipping-priority) and still havent received it. Tried calling and wont get answered. When I looked up this facility it looks like theres been problems for a while and a story reported in Dec 2014. Im STILL waiting on my package. After 9 days it finally left the facility but after 6 more days it hasnt gotten to where its going. I bet its still sitting at North Houston facility!!
My package was shipped 3 day priority mail, that was 6 days ago! This post office is the last place that accepted it. There is no updated tracking and nobody knows where my package is. My package is fertile expensive chicken eggs that are probably no longer fertile. Not impressed!!!!!!!!
Count me in on this... I have had multiple packages both incoming and outgoing getting delayed here for weeks on end... Makes you look horrible when selling an item and it takes 2 or 3 weeks to get delivered on a 2-3 day package!
Agreed that something strange is happening at this facility. My item shipped on 2/5 a Friday with an estimated delivery date of the 9th (Monday). Wednesday morning the 11th I got info, via tracking,that my item was delayed. The same night tracking says departed. I assume its in route. Then Friday the 13th check tracking and it says departed the 13th....how is this possible when it had departed on the 11th? It's now the 14th, no update, no package, and it's been 9 days and probably hasn't left. Ridiculous.
Same here... For the past two weeks, this post office has been delaying packages I've sent to customers. Not only am I losing money but it's hurting my seller rating. And they offer NO help. And it don't matter what area I ship from they always end up here.

The USPS screwed up in 2 ways. Have a package that was shipped to me on 2/7/15 by 2 day priority. It's now 2/12 and haven't received it yet! The first screw up was in NY when their scanner read the last 2 numbers of the zip code as 77566 instead of 77586. This caused the package to be shipped to the wrong city 50 miles away! And this is not the first time this has happened to a package sent to me and I never received it!!! On 2/9 the 77566 PO told me the package was sent from there to the North Houston Distribution Center (NHDC). That is the last I've seen of the package when checking the tracking. Only states that it was forwarded from 77566. No indication that it was ever received at the NHDC. Three days since being sent 50 miles and no updates!!! Now my package is sitting in limbo somewhere (hopefully!) at the NHDC hellhole!!! I was told by the 77566 Post Office that it could take up to 10 days before leaving the NHDC!!! Will I get a refund for the price I paid for 2 day priority? Fat chance in hell I will!!!
UPDATE: After a long wait I finally got to speak with someone at Consumer Affairs (713-226-3442). Not helpful in the LEAST! Couldn't tell me any more than I already knew and wasn't willing to pursue it any further!!! Asked if I'd get a refund on paying for priority and not receiving on time. Was told "NO!" If you have anything of importance sent to the Houston area do NOT use USPS! The distribution center will screw things up for you!!!

My package has been sitting at the North Houston Facility since 8am on 2/5. I keep getting updates stating it has an estimated delivery date of the 7th, which would be great if it wasn't already the 10th. The Pony Express is faster than these lazy good for nothing pieces of excrement.
A registered air mail with a very important legal document was sent to me at our home address in Oregon. But it some how ended up in Houston TX processing center. It has been sitting there for last 10 days without any action. Called many numbers but no one wants to take up the ownership of the problem.
I have a package I mailed certified on Jan 10th still at this facility 1/26/15. I get one or two texts a day telling me it is departing the north Houston facility. I tried the phone number listed and it is not in service. I finally got a hold of someone and they told me I could not drive there and find out where my package is. This is ridiculous!!

The USPS in general has been a joke since they started hiring anyone off the streets. They have a commercial for the hollidays that says they dilivered 1 billion packages that calander year. what they forget to tell you is they hundreds of thousands that they screwed up. How hard is it to deliver a package with a address on it? Obviously very hard!
It's unbelievable to me that this place is still functioning. Though, I use that term quite loosely. I had two packages go to that facility. One sat there for 5 days and then was returned to sender. The other has been there for 16 days and still no end in sight on this. I've filed cases, called USPS 800 number almost daily and still, nothing. As with so many others, I'm done with USPS and will be using FedEx strictly from now on.
uh, it's obvious its NOT functioning. I've read complaints going back to 2013. When you Google search North Houston Sort Facility the top hits are all either complaints about the facility or local news reports about how this facility is notorious for NOT functioning. I will NEVER use USPS again. I have supported them for years but they are killing my eBay business. I just hope I can get my package back in this lifetime. In the future it is definitely worth using UPS or Fedex. Hell, at this point it would be more worthwhile to drive packages myself. If they could just tell me where my package is I would gladly do it.

I had a package shipped 2 day priority on Monday from a postal annex, it was sent to this post office on Tuesday. It is Wednesday, the day is should have been delivered in Austin, and it is still sitting at this post office!!!! WTH!!!! My son will be back home when the package is delivered!!!
Dealing with the same problem as many of you. I paid for 2 day priority mail for a items I purchased from a business in Pearland, TX totaling $165. Tracking shows package arrived at USPS Origin facility in North Houston on Dec 2nd. Tracking shows "Expected Delivery Day" Friday, Dec 5th and "STATUS OF ITEM" Arrived at USPS Origin Facility. No other tracking updates and it still has not arrived. Appears it is still sitting at the facility in North Houston. That facility is a joke! I will make every effort to not use USPS ever again. I will gladly pay a couple bucks more to use FedEx or UPS to get in reasonable amount of time and up to date tracking. Even the guy who delivers my mail to my house is shocked at the problems this facility has. The supervisor in charge needs to be fired. Simple; fire the coach and get someone who can lead and fix problems.
They have been even worse than usual lately. They are renovating their space. NO EXCUSE as they should have had a protocol on how to keep working flawlessly through the renovation. ESPECIALLY DURING THE HOLIDAYS!!! File a complaint FOR SURE because something must be done about them. USPS Houston sees over $10,000 per year from my local business but they're about to lose it to another carrier if they don't get their s#i& together!

I've had trouble too. I sent an important, precious document certified letter Oct first from IL. to Tomball Tx, and my daughter's still waiting for it as of last night. Apparently it may be "stuck" in the North Houston facility. I sent regular letters to northern Wis. last Sat. and they received them the following Mon. Our medication shipped out on 9/26 with expedited shipping so it would arrive before our current supply was out. As of 10/4, the medication has been in North Houston USPS for SIX DAYS. Needless to say, we are now out of medication No customer service or humans of any kind to assist. Finally found a number for Customer Advocates at 202-268-2000. He found an alternate number 281-331-5755 and connected me to the manager. They claim they have never seen my package. Back to square one.

This has got to be the one of the worse sorting facilities ever. This is the 2nd time in less than a month one of my packages went through this facility and seems to have disappear. Delivery date was supposed to be April 5... It's 10 days later and still says "Depart USPS Sort Facility." USPS can't expect more people to use them if service is like this...
my order was suppose to be delivered by the 12th its the 15th, checked mail awhile ago and no package for today my due date is over. don't try calling because they do not answer calls or reply to emails, this is the worst experience I have ever had with shipping. North Houston, TX 77315 PO is the worst!
Has anyone received their packages? I was suppose to receive my package Wednesday then they told me yesterday but nothing, the north Houston facility sent it to Huntsville tx then Huntsville shipped back to north Houston and no it says it left the facility at 2:40am this morning for its destination but I still no update to where my package is has anyone with this problem received their package yet?
I am having the same issues I can't get any info on my package it said it departed the facility on February 4th 2014, my package was due February 5th it is now February 7th, still no package, tracking has not been updated, since the 4th when it said depart Houston Texas, have any of you received your packages yet, if so please help me. I would appreciate it more than anything.
Don't call the number listed on this website. It will take you to a menu of choices that all lead nowhere. The only people that ever answer the phone do not actually have anything to do with the post office sort facility and then they transfer you back to the same endless voice mail boxes or recorded menus. I finally reached someone who told me the phone number I needed to call was: 713-226-3442, but of course, their office closes at 4:00 pm, and since I wasted over an hour trying to get in touch with someone on the menu-options-from-hell number, they were closed when I called at 4:40.

This is really pissing me off . Like do they not have enough workers that they can't sort freaking mail. My package was dropped there 3 days ago & the updates are still saying the same bull about it's been sorted there. I'm going to report them to the BBB
