The USPS FDR Station package room are confiscating deliveries. Since November 2023, I have experienced 4 missing packages delivered to FDR station from Amazon and other companies. The tracking number stated package was delivered successfully but told by the clerk it’s not in the package room. In early April 2024, two package tracking numbers stated, package delivered successfully but the clerk told me it’s not in the package room. As of 4/18/24, after being assertive concerning the matter, one package mysteriously appeared.

I brace myself for their mind-blowing incompetence every time I know someone has sent me a package or certified mail. They routinely cannot locate certified mail in the package room. Their response is to ping-pong the customer (they treat the customer as someone who is bothering them while they are, as far as I have been able to determine, doing nothing) back and forth across the lobby until they conclude that the certified mail can't be found at any window. If at any time the customer become even slightly frustrated with them, this is somehow not their, but the customer's fault. They have also misdelivered multiple packages; on at least one occasion the contents of one of those packages was then stolen. They fail to deliver pickup tags so that there is no awareness by the customer that a package is waiting. If the package is actually waiting and they haven't already sent it back, it's just like certified mail, can't find it, hot potato the customer around the various windows. Another time they wouldn't give me the package because my driver's license is issued from another state and didn't match the address on the package. I said, do you really think I am an impostor with the same name who somehow gets the notices at the New York address out of a locked mailbox for and shows up randomly to claim them? They didn't have an answer for that, just like they generally don't for anything. It's a miracle any mail is delivered from this facility at all

There does not appear to have access for the disabled and now they have stopped answering the phone.

Have been missing important pieces since 6/21/23. Several call were made. No one answered. Never the same person delivering mail. Have several service requests after calling and messaging USPS. Informed delivery shows mail. Still waiting. Was told mail sent to another state for sorting. Really?? With such a large building. My father delivered mail years ago. Carried a bag up stairs to buildings nothing on wheels. He had a heart attack and passed. It's a shame now.

This post office is located in Mid-town Manhattan. The clock hasn't worked for months. The down escalator is out of order; now, the revolving door coming into the post office is out of order. This is unacceptable! Who is responsible for the upkeep of these buildings? The employees are unhappy, rude to customers and I would be, too if my employers didn't care about where I worked. Fix this now! This is Mid-town Manhattan and the FDR post office is important. I'm ashamed, since DeJoy took over, it's become a 2nd rate business. We need youto function; your image is a disgrace!

I went to the FDR Post Office to apply for my passport. My experience was wonderful. The staff members are polite, helpful and informative. I have and will continue to recommended this site to friends and neighbors.

Absolutely awful experiences the few times I've had to go in here. Staff are extremely rude, dismissive and unhelpful. Only use if you absolutely have to but I'd rather avoid at all costs

A postal employee from truck 7531314 in Manhattan at East 74 and 2nd Is not wearing a mask. I asked why. He said he did not want to. I said it was a law. He said it was not. I repeated that it was. He said “the. You stay in your apartment if you do not like me not wearing a mask.”

Google the Post Master for the area, and send an email to complain. It got results for me here in Brooklyn.

I have been having my mail delivered to this branch for 30+ years. I recently went to pick up my mail on April 3rd. I never had a bad experience in the 30 years until April 3rd. Now I understand we are all under pressure with our current situation, but that is no reason for the Post Office employees to be rude to the customers. There was no communication regarding where to pick up packages and the employees were rude and yelling at the customers and fellow employees. Again I understand the pressure we are all under but there is no excuse for the behavior I witness from the staff. Hopefully this issue will be addressed and corrected.

I hope you saw and listened to a supervisor yelling at an employee ((this happened a few times when I worked there). The employees at the windows have to deal with rude and abnoxious customers, every day. They are only human. I'd contact the area Post Master. Everyone in the Post Office has a boss.

Our mail carrier has not been delivering our commercial business mail at 136 East 57th Street NY 10022 since the beginning of April. We have had to pick up our own mail at 909 3rd Avenue. There is a current poster at the floor giving direction to come between 12pm-2pm for mail being held and to call 212.330.5692 / 5655 / 5543 at window 5. We had to find out about this on our own inquiring on business checks and deliveries. Please contact me and respond to USPS handling of business mail during our Covid-19 crisis to best get a clear direction of procedures. Thanks for this information George. I am having the same problem with the mail for our company. I called those numbers and no one answers. I called the 800 number and waited for 2 hours on three separate days and all they did was took my complaint and said that someone will call me back. As of today, nothing. This is from the start of April. We’re expecting checks, bills and other legal letters. Nothing. I’m planning on going to the post office again to see what’s going on. Thanks

Please deliver packages directly to the address listed. Packages for Greenthal residents, who live on east 65th st between 1st ave and YORK, are being rerouted to the Greenthal maintenance office on another block (64th st. 1st ave) and should not be. Please stop doing this and deliver to the address LISTED on the package. It is not only an inconvenience but it is closed at certain hours of the day and packages go missing at the maintenance office.

The worst post office ever! I shipped an expensive item from California to Rivereast Apts on 92nd St. It was sorted and put out for delivery on 12/11. It has had no updates since other than an alert. Since FDR does NOT answer their phone, I called the 800 number. They suggested we re-schedule delivery for today to force an update like unable to locate package, or a delivered back-scan to 12/11. They have not acknowledged this request at all! This is the most negligent and incompetent USPS ever. Since they treat packages and people like garbage, I’ll take my business needs elsewhere, but first I’ll be that annoying squeaky wheel until this package is resolved. Consumer affairs, the Postmaster (won’t care at that facility) and even the Governor are all people to reach out to if not resolved. This entire staff needs to be fired for incompetence.

Their website doesn't even list half of the things you're required to have, and when you show up and don't have them, they talk down to you like you're an idiot for not knowing you were supposed to have these items.

I have tried for almost a week to call this facility. I had a lost package and was trying to track it down. I called every single day for one full week. NO ANSWER. I cannot believe that not one person in a week could pick up the phone. How does one go about contacting this post office???

Used to work there (FDR). They are extremely short staffed due to the Post office restructuring. Supervisors that are in the offices are not there long. They are on the work floor most of the day. The only way to get direct answers is to go there personally.

Bizarre things have happened with/at this post office branch for YEARS. Most recently, in the past couple years, and with increasing frequency, tracked packages show up online as "delivered" when they are NOT. Usually when this happens, the alleged "delivered" parcel shows up the next day. This week, however, a tracked parcel shows online as "delivered" although it wasn't delivered on the day stated or since the false information appeared. The phone inquiry service was HORRIBLE. Nothing but ringing for more than 5 minutes with no answer until Verizon came on the line with a pre-recorded message that the number wasn't answering (duh). Then, I called the 800 number & the pre-recorded options were in a loop that continued for another 15 minutes regardless of the options I chose. Finally a recording instructed me to hold for a customer service representative at which time an ear-splitting "music" noise & repetitive notice about moving across the United States came on and continued for 15 minutes until I hung up.No package. No customer service representative. Nothing & no one to address my concern.

Terrible. I had one clerk lose my certified post card and tell me I never had it. I wanted to double check my other letters (to make sure they had post cards) but she wouldn't let me and told me that there was no need to panic, meanwhile she was the one who was freaking out. I wrote a new one, and then got 2 post cards back, proving she took the post card from me. I put in a complaint to the post office, never heard from them. Then I put in 3 online requests to pick up a package, received confirmations, and even one email telling me the pick up was complete. The package is still here. Now I'm trying to call the post office, no one is picking up.

According to the tracking number, my package was supposed to have been delivered 3 wks. ago, but was not. I've been on hold for 15 minutes, now. How on earth can you resolve an issue if you can't talk with anyone and there is no email provided???

I can only concur with the other unhappy customers who have left comments. I was attempting to call and speak to someone regarding my mail carrier (Ruby), she is very pleasant but seems to be delivering mail later and later. This past Monday she didn't deliver until 5:45 pm! When she is off her substitute delivery carrier (Asian-American) comes around 12:30-1:30 pm. What seems to be the problem? No answer at the phone # listed.

This post office is completely incompetent. No wonder the phone number doesn't work. I have attempted to send a package from Los Angeles to NY. That was on Sept. 16th. It is now October 30th. They have never left a notice that the package is at the main FDR location, so how is the recipient supposed to deduce that they have a package that they have to pick up? Right ... that's why it keeps getting sent back to California. The 1 800 number is a joke. These "reps" can't even read a tracking record. They are all retarded! I got a supervisor on the phone and they told me that I have to take it up with Consumer affairs in Washington DC! How do these people draw a paycheck. They don't do ANYTHING. They can't even deliver one package after 6 weeks.

this place is an absolute joke. Had the USPS main office give me 4 different #'s because the number listed above doesnt work... and each one didnt work. Filed a grievance because I had to re-schedule my delivery twice due to them just not showing up. Manager finally called me and gave me two different #'s and they both don't work as well. Never seen such a circus act in my entire life.
