I have been going to this post office every week for about 5 years, and there has not been a single time that I was not treated with respect and given excellent service. Thank you to great managers and a great staff!
Horrible! They never leave packages. They always just stick a redelivery slip in my mailbox. So, put a note on the mailbox asking them to leave the package or to ring my bell so I can get it. They didn’t do either. Like they don’t even bring the package. They just fill out the slips ahead of time.
I have a very important package from ukraine I have been waiting for. I orginally stopped using the USPS for my deliveries because of all of the problems with getting my deliveries to my home. I took a chance and here we go again. My package was supposed to have been delivered yesterday, June 8, 2021. Well it was not, at least not to my residential home. The tracking has it left at some front desk, reception area. I tried calling the post office in Southfield on Lahser as soon as they opened at 0900. I was never able to get through...the telephone just rung and then went busy. After trying for 2 hours. I got in my car and drove to the Post Office. I waited in the regular line but decided to go to the line where people were asking questions. After waiting there a bit, when I got to the window the supervisor was there and told me I had to get in the regular line. Another 15-20 minute wait. Once at the window, I gave the agent my tracking paperwork and I explained my situation. The agent took the document, went to the back, when he came back he asked for my license which I presented. When he returned I was told the supervisor was going into a meeting and for me to call back in 30 -60 minutes. He gave me a number that was supposed to be her direct number. I shared with him it was the same number I had been calling earlier. I have been calling the number for almost 3 hours with the same results. This is the worst service I have received in the 27 years living and working with the USPS on Lahser. I will not say everyone in that office is unprofessional because that is not true. There are some true STARS working out of that site. Unfortunately, as someone being a leader I would have expected a little more courteous and caring service. My package is missing, it was delivered to the wrong address and I guess I am supposed to just suck up my $100 loss. Not so! I will take this to Washington if I have to...its the principle of the whole thing that matters most to me. How can they out to the carrier who I tried to catch today if they don't have the information?????
I had a Package delivered from Houston that took 2 days to get to Pontiac where it sat for 6 days. It departed Pontiac for Macomb 48044. I live in Southfield! It sat in Macomb for 2 days then made its way back to Detroit who was Prompt in Sending it to Washington 48094. 30+ miles from Southfield. I have had to filed Numerous complaint but it seems like the Post Office has steeped to its lowest of lows.
Computer generated responses is all you get and Supervisors and Postmasters don't seem to give a ****.
Now I try to encourage all my Vendors to use other types of service.
As a retiree of the USPS I am appalled buy the at how bad service has become. I did not care for the tactics used by The current Postmaster but I am beginning to see his point.
The dinosaur should be put to sleep and Privatize.
A resident in a condominium at 11 Mile Rd & Inkster Rd,I always know when our regular carrier is not here.The substitute carriers have no respect for our residents. They disregard our posted speed limits,endangering walkers and bikers in their effort to save time.Please resolve this dangerous problem.
I’ve had the benefit and p,ensure of living in numerous states in the US, and towns of burying sizes, and I have to say the recent service from the Sfield office on Lahser is distinguished by their wretched service. You have to collect your mail if your carrier is out 1 day or more with no apparent effort to see to it that residents get their mail.
I received better mail service in Yugoslavia when I was a college!
This is a general complaint about 2020-2021 postal service. I know COVID has contributed to the difficulties of delivery, but this is astoundingly ridiculous: I mailed a package to New Haven, CT on December 9, 2020. It has been sitting in that post office since Dec 28. Today is February 10, 2021. Unbelievable!!!!
I have not received a Christmas Card mailed in mid December from my sister in Tulsa, OK. Today, Jan. 14th, 2021 and I haven't received the ( cash enclosed ) card yet. Hopefully your service isn't as bad as some of the comments indicate.
I mail my car payment from Cherry Hill, NJ 08002 to a PO box at Southfield, MI 48037. I mail the payment at least 1 week in advance yet it takes three weeks plus to reach the company Credit Acceptance. This is unacceptable. Are your postal workers instructed in how to work as slow as possible like the rest of the government or are your employees mentality disabled ?
This has to be the worst post office ever! The mail men don’t bring your packages to your apartment they leave notices like the tried to attempt when the never did! If they don’t want to do their jobs they should quit! And when you go in to the office there so rude and nasty! Everyone should be replaced at this location!🤬
The service at this location is not good I’m not even from that state but my package has been sitting there for 16 days with no updates other then my package is in their possession and will be arriving late it’s now the 16th and I only received the first update stating package was I their possession I order this item at the end of Nov I can’t even talk to anyone because they don’t answer the phone
I had 2 Amazon packages, they delivered one in the mailbox at the street, I guess the other one wouldn't fit in the mailbox and the driver didn't want to get out of the truck and drop it off on the porch? So he indicated "Delivery attempted- Front door/ Driveway was not accessible" and pulled off without making the delivery? All while I was standing in the doorway? I called Amazon, they said they would try delivery again in a couple of days.. Horrible Service by USPS!!
we had sent a $300.00 package to a customer and it was delivered to a wrong street and Zip Code. We put in a Claim for it 3 times and it was declined each time! Even thought the Post office in customers area wrote us a letter saying they apologies for the mistake!
Very disappointing... anything and everything I order from Amazon that is shipped with USPS is not delivered. They state they attempted a delivery... and they will put a time that has not even happened yet. And... when checking in to what is going on... it states that it was "customer request" to hold it at USPS. I order from Amazon so I don't have to go to pick it up anywhere. :(
I am having problems with mis-delivered mail. Someone outside my subdivision (who has a similar address number-but totally different street) got my mail, and the person was good enough to forward it.
This post office is terrible with package deliveries. How can they say they attempted a delivery at 10:30 PM and it’s only 8 PM? Then they didn’t leave a slip. We have to go the merchant website to find out what is going on. Then they say it was customer request to hold the package at USPS. Ridiculous! A friend of mine is going through the same thing with this location. Something really needs to be done about their carriers.

I have not received my package - Unable to get any response from Post Office either online or by phone - Poor Service, I understand due to virus it take longer but I think the package was misplaced by Southfield Location etc.
A few days ago I mentioned that I have not received my mail since Fri. Apr 3rd. Also have not received my mail that was on hold because I was out of town. In contacting the Southfield USPS, was informed that I had checked the box on the Authorization to Hold Mail form "B", that I will pick up all accumulated mail. My bad and I apologize. T
I dropped a package off at this post office on Feb 11, 2020. I placed it in the silver turn style drop bin on the wall in the lobby. This bin drops packages BEHIND the wall inside the post office where only employees are allowed. It was about 830am, before the counter is open. My package never started tracking and now noone at the post office knows where it is. The only logical explanation is that one of the employees stole my package. It contained two pairs of gucci shoes, which were quite expensive. It is unbelievable that noone at the post office is willing to investigate this theft. It makes you feel like you cannot trust the USPS, which is not a good reputation for them to be developing since they are one of the main sources of mail delivery. I would not recommend anyone use this post office. If less people patronize this location, maybe they will close it. I definitely will not use it anymore!
I put letters out for pickup for the mail carrier on Monday and again Tuesday. On both days they were not picked up by the carrier. I’m a resident at Wellington Place condominiums on 12 mile. This is most disappointing.
I order from an online company from time to time. They use the post office for delivery. I have had three packages confirmed as delivered, never have they shown up in my mailbox. The sending company notifies me of where the package is along the route, so I have chosen to watch. The package does not arrive yet is marked delivered. There is definitely a thief at the Southfield PO.
sent my grandson a cell phone for his birthday. taped package with thick tape. wrap it around package. pone was stolen he received a empty box. so needless to say they have a thief working at our post office.
I went to Lasher & 11 mile post office April 10, 2018 to do an address change. An employee was walking by & I asked where were the change of address forms? He had some in his hand & handed me one...not saying a word even after I said “thank you”. I approached the counter and handed the well excuse me, Mr. I Hate My Job!! I handed the woman behind the counter the change of address form and she stated it was the wrong form. I think her personality was still out to lunch! Anyway, She stated it would take 7-10 days before I would receive any mail. 15 days later I return inquiring about my mail, spoke with another female who abruptly interrupted me and stated that was the normal length of time. She didn’t ask anyone, she didn’t look in their system.. cut and dry that’s “the new procedure” now. It’s now May 31st and I go back “HEATED” I ask for a supervisor or manager. A young man (Mylen) comes out stating he was the supervisor with another lady Venita. He was about as helpful as me being broke with a $3 bill!!! Venita ( not a supervisor or manager, but should be) she took control of the situation, she looked into their system and stated “the request had never been entered”. She assured me she would take care of the issue...but wait there’s more.... now I have to wait another 2-3 weeks!!!!! There’s a ton of people who need jobs!
Been home all day and they lied about coming to my apartment door. Go to the mailbox and its a sorry we missed you note. Today is Dec. 23 now my kid gonna miss his Drone because my mail person was lazy. This is unacceptable.

I have seen a lot of lazy people in my life...but they all pale in comparison to the people that "work" at this post office. My mail carrier is nothing more than a waste of flesh and air! She is a mail carrier but yet, I NEVER GET MY MAIL! I'm a server and I doubt it'd fly if I just one day decided to not serve people food...thats not how jobs work. This is a reoccuring problem where I'll order something from Amazon and other online sites where I pay an anual fee to get my sh*t in 2 days to my door, and not ONLY that, i have it set up for the carrier to leave it if nobody's home. Not only does she NEVER leave it....99% OF THE TIME SHE DOESN'T EVEN BRING MY PACKAGES! I'm at home waiting on the mail and i get a notification from the place I ordered from...ATTEMPTED DELIVERY NOBODY AT RESIDENCE....so i look outside and she's not even at my house! She's lazy AF so she scans my sh*t at the post office and doesn't even bring it with her on the truck! and if thats not bad enough...SHE DOESNT EVEN LEAVE A SLIP SO I CAN GO PICK IT UP UNTIL WHENEVER SHE JUST GETS AROUND TO IT! We've had to chase this b*tch down in her mail truck to get our mail...i'm not even exaggerating. I overheard her and the FedEX woman bragging about how they just deliver whatever they feel like delivering that day and nobody can do anything about it. Real cute. The most unprofessional joke of a woman i've ever had to deal with. A retarded monkey could do a better job.
Worst Mail Carriers EVER!!! Two items out for deliver today, one shows up and then several hours later the 2nd item is still missing and Carrier posts there was animal interference?! I have ZERO pets and the rest of my mail got here. Explain that loser who forgot to give me all pieces of my mail!!!!
Paid for first class mailing, letter was suppose to reach distinction on the 1st till hasn't reached there. We you call you get a voice recording that tell you nothing. I guess I'll tell people to go fed-X from know owe.
This post office never answers the phone. They don't deliver your mail most of the time. I have made numerous complaints and still no change. The post office is unprofessional and so are the mail carriers I haven't received any mail for the last week and been expecting something in the mail since April 22, 2014 and it is now April 30, 2014 it never takes this long to receive mail. my zip code is 48033.
No one will pick up the phone. This is pathetic. I'm trying to get a passport and I've been referred to this office by other offices and I'm not going to drive out there to be told I need an appointment. Others have commented months ago with the same issue. This is unacceptable.

The worst customer service ever! You never get to speak with an actual person no matter what number pressed on the phone. No Passport Service available over the phone. Couldn't get an appointment to renew a passport. The employees are rude and have no customer service training. This location serves no purpose.!
This is by far one of the slowest post offices I've been to. The lines are often really long and the speed of service is VERY slow. They're often low or out of supplies, which seems counterproductive to all the advertising they do for the flat rate and express mail options. There seem to be a lot of people moving about at a very slow pace, not doing much. I was not thirlled when one of the 3 clerks took their 15 minute break when the line was to the door, of course I was still there when she returned, hardly moved. Perhaps they could use more training as well, on several occassions more than one clerk was helping 1 customer. I waited for 50 minutes, with 8 people in front of me. One of my 2 day shipments took over 5 to arrive to the destination, note the weather was bad.
Hate their voicemail system every number you hit is wrong and can't get an actual Human being to speak with. No mail for 2 days now.. don't like the post office parking lot and never have enough attendants to help at windows
Good luck - EVER getting an employee on the phone. Every extension that is hit, goes to a recording that they are busy with customers or unable to take your call, but please leave a message - goes to recording stating that you are unable to leave a message. I have been calling for 3 days now!! We are a medical facility and have mail everyday, delivery use to be by 11:30 every day. Now - 1:30 to 2:30. This past Tuesday 4pm and yesterday - no delivery no pick-up!! We have a minimum of 25 pieces per day. Horrible customer service! I have many friends that work for USPS and I used to send all packages through them. Now I mostly use UPS or FedEx. You call and they answer!! Never a lost package and it arrives on time, every time!
Certified letter with signature confirmation kept coming back from this post office with no printed name, date (I paid $10 for this service). My post office sent a polite note reminding them to get that information Delivery person sent a rude note back to my post office saying he knew how to DO HIS JOB! He also delivered it a week late and made no electronic recording so I have no proof. How do this hostile morons keep their jobs?
Southfield, MI post office on 11 Mile road has the WORST costumer service. EVER. I have never experienced such horrible employees. They are all miserable, and show that they hate their jobs. They are not helpful what so ever, and I DISPISE going there. They treat their customers as if we are an inconvience.I will say there are a few select employees that are amazing, such as our specific mail courier, and one african american gentleman in the mailroom who always has a smile on his face.
UNBELIEVABLE! This USPS in located just outside of Detroit and in a city with a large African American citizenry and THEY of all places ran out of the Forever stamp with Rosa Parks on it within 4 hours of it's first day introduction. Reportedly, they don't know when they'll be getting more!! No wonder the USPS is losing ground. That is very shortsighted by management at this office.
