Horrible service, constantly missing deliveries, constantly losing stuff. Opened a package of mine without consent and lied about it. Horrible service

I wasn’t aware you could just change the closing hours as you want. I drove quite a distance to send medication Express Mail because I saw online you were open until 6:00 PM. It said on the door that you were open until 6:00 PM but then when I went in, you were closed and a little white paper said due to unforeseen circumstances you were closing at 5:00 PM now. Who was the brainiac who forgot to change the hours on the door or the website. In the lobby, the package chute was jammed closed and many could not drop off packages. Why didn’t anyone in the back step up and help? They were in there. Why didn’t the postmaster step up. Ever hear of “the Needs of the Service”. Poor excuse of a government facility.

do postal workers know how to read? If so, why was my package, and another neighbors package delivered to a third neighbor. Also, do they know how to close a mailbox? Mine was left open and all my mail was soaked from the snow.

I mailed a change of address to the Schererville P.O. For my 88 year old mother because she is living with us now. It has been 30 days and nothing has changed. I called to check if they even received the Change of Address form and was told she had to come in order for them to check. I must admit I lost it! The woman is living with us because she is now disabled, the weather is not good for anyone let alone an elderly person to be out in and all I wanted to know, "DID THEY RECEIVE THE FORM." I was not asking for any other info. Then she asked me if I had Power of Attorney (which I have) and that in order for her to look it up, I would need to come in with my POA and I.D. Think about how ridiculous that is...what if I lived in California or anywhere other than NWI would they still expect me to come in?
