My mail carrier stopped at my home to see if I was OK because I had not gotten my mail for a couple of days. I thought that was very thoughtful of him and wanted to let the office know. I thanked him for his concern and appreciated that so much. It is good to know there are still good people in this world.
I think the last day we received mail was Tuesday. We are across railroad tracks, so the mail person may have been blocked by a train on Tuesday, but there weren't many trains yesterday. Is there a schedule for delivery? We receive mail anywhere from morning to 4 or 5 in the afternoon or not at all. We are a business and receive checks in the mail that we deposit daily. It hurts when we go days without mail being delivered. Our address is 32 E 14th Street, New Albany, IN.

3. Mailman delivers mail late at night before covid i was getting my mail between 3pm-4pm now it 7pm or 8pm
4. Old white guy that works at new albany indiana branch is the rudest guy ever everytime i go there he has an attitude with me or another customer
5. If your looking for a tracking number why do you have to enter a tracking number you don't have to speak to someone (dumbest thing ever)
6. BTW your 6 feet marks on the floor are way off its more like 2 feet

Some of my mail was damaged recently. I found it in the street, having been run over by multiple cars. I managed to reach USPS at their national number, because people at the New Albany post office don't like to answer the phone. Today, I received a voicemail from "Brandy" about this case asking that I return her call. I tried multiple times only to be on hold seemingly forever. I finally called the number offered for bulk mail inquiries or something, and WHOA!! I got a human! I told this person that I was returning Brandy's call, but I asked him why it's so difficult to reach a human there. As I was still trying to talk he kept interrupting me, and I asked him not to interrupt me because that was rude. I even called him sir. He hung up on me. Due to the difficulty in returning a call or even getting a human at all at this post office, I've filed a complaint with the USPS Inspector General. I believe that my rights were violated today by the employee who hung up on me at this post office. This incident occurred around 12:57pm, March 1st. Now, the people at the Sellersburg PO nearby are very nice and usually answer the phone in under 20 seconds, so I don't believe the New Albany PO has any excuse. The citizens of Floyd County deserve better.
Update: Apparently their fax machine doesn't work either. Unbelievable. I wasted my entire afternoon trying to reach these people.
Update: I've been trying for 2 days to return "Brandy's" call from the New Albany post office. I have a case number. How is this supposed to get resolved if they refuse to answer calls or accept faxes? I strongly believe that somehow my rights are being violated. I'm being denied any due process to resolve this issue. Perhaps I should contact an attorney.
Now I believe I've being subtly retaliated against by my letter carrier. Every week, for several months now, I receive another addressee's junk mail, and only their junk mail. It's been happening too consistantly to be accidental. I just filed another complaint and have been documenting everything. I even looked up the statute for postal employees doing stuff they shouldn't with the mail, because I honestly feel now that this retaliation is about to get worse for me.

I received a notice yesterday to raise my mailbox 6 to 8 inches in a week or my mail delivery might get suspended. My mailbox has been at it's current height for 8 years and it hasn't been a problem before? Could this be retaliation against me for daring to expect a normal level of customer service from this post office? I don't know, but the timing is certainly suspect...

We have always had good mail service until COVID-19 all has been good except Menard rebate usually pretty quick but it has been 1 to 2 months no debate.
This is not just for the branch but the entire Postal service... Your automated system is a joke. When trying to speak to customer service they want a tracking number first which I do not have. The automated system is designed to hang up on you if you don't enter a tracking number with in so many seconds.. I have been to 2 different post offices to report I am getting packages for someone else. I handed the 4 packages back to the them and asked them to stop delivering these items to me please. With in 2 days the packages were re-delivered to me with yet another one...

This is about the 5th time in 5 weeks we've rec'd the wrong mail.
We've even re mailed it and highlighted the correct and only address - it got delivered here two more times???????
just left the New Albany branch. My package came back because I still owed postage even though I paid what your scale said I owed. The guy wanted me to verify the address displayed on the atm machine was correct. Your machine is up so high I couldn't see what was displayed. He had my package so how was I supposed to verify anyway. I could not see the amount I was being charged. You are discriminating against short people by having the ATM so high.
Went there to pick up a package today after it being diverted from Croydon due to my recent relocation, while having a 2 week overlap at both locations. I had originally received a text that my package could be picked up at the Corydon branch. When I went there, they said they had sent it to the New Albany branch. I waited to see if it would be delivered to our new place, since everything else had made it to us. Received a note in the mailbox that the package was attempted to be delivered but couldn't be because a shipping fee was due. I was home on the day this was left and absolutely NO attempt had been made. I went to the New Albany branch today to retrieve my package and was told I couldn't have it without paying the shipping fee, which was the cost to ship it from the original post office, which I did not ask them to do, nor was it delivered to my house. I told them I would not pay it because I was notified to pick it up at a different location which I tried to do. I asked them to return to sender and I would reorder, since it was through Amazon prime and the are no shipping fees. The pleasant worker behind the counter responded with " Maybe this time you'll have it delivered to the right address". I asked to speak with a manager and she said he was out working but could call me when he returned. I never received a call. Charging a customer for the USPS mistake, and if was a mistake because our other packages ordered/sent through USPS made it to the original address or were forwarded to the current address WITHOUT a charge. Attitude from the worker when you're trying to get a package that was addressed to the address the customer wanted it sent to. No call back from a manager. Absolutely some if the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Will use FEDEX and UPS when I ship from now on. Will be changing bills and subscriptions to digital. I will not give my business to the USPS anymore than I have to.
The postal box by Kroger’s is full or something is stuck. I mailed things in there and was worried about whether they would get picked up. Tried calling several times, but have just gotten busy signal.
The withholding of mail is a crime. The New Albany post office is criminal, stealing residential mail & packages from consumers. I've called the 800 number on many occasions over the last several months, they try to assist but these issues are ultimately left up to the local supervisor who obviously does NOT do the job. Attitudes toward customers are beyond horrific! USPS is overseen by the Office Of The Inspector General. It would benefit ALL of us to contact this agency with our very valid complaints at uspsoig. This is the office of the United States Post Office Inspector General. I would have added a link but unsure if this thing would accept it. The more valid complaints this agency receives the possibility of all of us who have experienced the horrifically RUDE behavior, lax, mail & package thieving employees have committed against customers of all areas in New Albany, there's a greater likelihood that something might be accomplished. I’ve got a problem with my mail not getting delivered. Sometimes they write there was a dog loose , neighbors little dog I suppose that does bark at everything that moves . I’ve gone days without getting my mail , then I get everything at once . When you’re waiting on something important to come it’s really frustrating. I’m on a dead end so I feel they don’t think it’s necessary to deliver daily .

First of all this is the dirtiest post office I have ever been in!!
Secondly this post office never answers the phone!!
I HAVE CALLED AND COMPLAINED 4 times since oct. 2016 because they stopped delivering mail to me.. Since then i have been declined for my ssi and my electric gpt turned off because i got no bill also my new registration and plate sticker was returned to the bmv and destroyed so where i live my car was towed also i didn't recieve my recertification for my foodstamps and got cut off of them this month. I even made a damn online account with them last month and still no mail this is ridiculous. And whats even more screwed up housing wrote on the bottom of one of their letters saying please deliver she has not moved. So why is it that they still haven't delivered my mail. The new albany post office needs to get their shit together..
I called the number and got a recording but nothing regarding what I needed. I call the 800 number and got prompt service. 1-800-ask-usps. Or 1-800-275-8777. Hope this saves someone the aggravation of getting helped. ðŸ˜ƒðŸ’ðŸ’
A phone messages states appts are needed to apply for a passport. As they don't answer the phone I guess people are to drive there to schedule an appt? They are having a passport fair on Sat Mar 19, 2016 and I cannot find out the hours. Am I to drive there to ask this question and return again on Sat? And people wonder why the USPS cannot make any money! They should work smarter, not by procrastination.
Automated recording says passport applications are taken by appointment only and then doesn't tell you how to make the appointment. ??? Then when I press "0" to speak to someone no one answers. I've tried this now for 10-15 minutes straight.
A guy named Chris works at this post office and he is going to hear from my lawyer. I have never been so harassed by anybody in my life. I can't imagine the postmaster at this post office would put up with employees who are completely out of line.
If you are going to have a phone # listed as a contact, then answer the phone...tried for one full hour to cancel a passport appointment, but all I got was a recording telling me what the post office hours were, then when I pressed '0' for the receptionist, no answer for one full hour......pitiful!
keep sending my mail down the street then when try to call them to get situation resolved I get no answer I been calling for over twenty mins. now I will also like to add that the people inside the branch are extremely RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Extremely rude is understatement. After patiently waiting 10 mins for my package (standing there minding my own business, not even in a hurry at all), the manager suddenly came from the back an accused me of getting an attitude and being difficult with the girl who was looking for my package. He said I was speaking to him & her like a child because I was saying my address slowly (so they could understand what I was saying because people often confuse my address). This came out of nowhere and I have never in my experienced such rudeness in the service industry.

This post office sucks!! Since I changed my mailing address I haven't received n e of mail. I've been dealn wit my insurance about personal business n still to this day, I haven't received my information. Wtf is going on wit my mail?
