We had no mail delivered to our home on Castlewood Terrace last week. I called the Uptown office when they said the delivery per- Son was sick & the substitute did not come in. My husband & I then went to the post office & picked up our mail. This week there is no delivery again!! HELP!!

I have online notifications of mail delivered to my mailbox. I was informed of a delivery at 5:59 my item was placed in my mailbox. I live on the first floor, above the mailboxes so I hear the delivery of the mail and the slamming of the mailboxes daily. I run downstairs in less than 2 mins. There is no package delivered. This is the second time this has happened to me. I believe the mail person just scans the items and tosses them back in the truck. This item definitely would fit in my mailbox. Do not do business at this P.O. Highly unprofessional. I have witnessed the so-called manager curse out a customer who was upset she had been waiting for someone to come back from break. There were about 20 people waiting in line when she left for break.

This afternoon, while I was at work, I received a tracking text update that a package has been "Delivered, left with individual." I messaged a member of my household to bring the package inside of our condo building. There was no package in the foyer or outside. The member of my household went outside, down the street, and saw the postal delivery person, and inquired where the package was. The package was left outside/in front of another condo building, at the wrong address. Had I not had someone available to track down the delivery person, and locate where it was left, the package could have been stolen or damaged. I understand that everyone at USPS works under tremendous strain, both before and during the pandemic. We have generally reliable delivery, with occasional expected issues, given the sheer number of packages and parcels of mail being handled. The weather here has also certainly provided a challenge this week. I am appreciative of USPS and the hard work that is performed, as a whole, as well as by each individual. But this was a package that not only had special meaning to me personally, but also a high dollar value. Marking "Left with Individual", while leaving the package outside of an incorrect address, just doesn't seem acceptable to me, under any circumstances.

This is my second complaint about the incompetence of Uptown. I made a formal complaint against the Uptown post office today with the 800 number for customer service. After reading some of the many complaints I'm surprise this branch is still open. Instead of explaining my ordeal, I'm just going to number my points. Remember this is my second complaint about Uptown Post Office. 1. I paid for PRIORITY MAIL to be sent to OHIO yesterday. Today it was delivered back to my office. 2. I placed SHIP TO on the box, AND EXPLAINED WHERE THE BOX WAS GOING. Incompetent clerk #__. Still input the information wrong. 3. Today the first clerk was clueless of policies, procedures, and how to rectify a problem for a customer. All she simply had to do is, resending the package. That the clerk from the prior day was sent out wrong. 4. The first clerk from today was suppose to call the supervisor, after waiting about 20 minutes. She finally got off her butt and asked the rude incompetent Passport clerk. 5.The Passport clerk behavior was rude, egotistical, short, and on some holier privileged because I can BS. Then he told the first clerk not to send the package out. 6.I informed the first incompetent clerk, after she sat back down quickly. That I need the name of the Supervisor and Phone Number to this Branch. She gives me the number but no name of Supervisor. Anything to cover their asses. 7. IC1 (Incompetent clerk 1) tells me that she would call for the Supervisor to come down. Naturally IC1 didn't call. So I waited quietly for the SUPERVISOR TO COME TO NOT COME. 8.IPC (Incompetent Passport clerk) comes down to the other side where IC1 is, to get something and notice me still standing. Naturally ICP ask IC1 what am still doing hear, after I told him we're not mailing his package. 9. IPC made the mistake of becoming a loud, egotistical, rude, and a short demeanor statistic. I am a Black man, trying to talk to another Black man. That evidently doesn't like is customer service job, and should find another peanut and popcorn job. IPC tonality was on level 9, and my tonality was level 4. This......wanna be someone important. Started the conversation off by telling me to be quiet, and he was going to talk. As a Black man I respected his wish, let him say his peace while yelling. 10. When he was done I explained to him, which made him yet again look like a deranged lunatic. The freaking reason I was waiting there. After I shut his behavior and attitude down. He still would give me the Supervisors name to put with the complaint. Because I knew someone eventually would want that information to file the complaint again the INCOMPETENT UPTOWN POST OFFICE. The sad thing is there was a couple with a complaint ahead of me on day 1, and another woman complaining about IPC when I was there earlier today. Seriously if they don't want their jobs, get another peanut and popcorn job that you won't have to deal with customers. USPS will no longer be handling my logistics for my company, and I will discourage future companies from using the USPS as well.

I went there to process the passport when I went there the first time they told me the person that process the passport it was not there, they told me to come back the next day. I came back the next day and also the person was not there. My husband took a day off and I took 2 days off and the person was not there. That's respectful for us the clients. That's a very bad service.

The worst post office i have dealt with. File a claim for lost packages, they just close them out. No package, no contact, just close it out. Phone rings, says stay on the line and then they hang up. Just now, phone says closed but they are open. I try to support PO, but this might be the end. Better to pay a little bit more to UPS, at least it usually gets there.

I mailed a medium flat rate box from Lisbon, Louisiana on Dec.4 and it arrived in Chicago on Dec. 8. It was for a delivery in Chicago. When I run the tracking #s it says arriving late. It should have been delivered since arriving in Chicago. Why do we pay for Priority Mail service then not get that service. Should be a guaranteed money back service. Just my thoughts.

I want to make sure that Ms. Shabazz at 60640 gets the appreciation she deserves for going above and beyond in her efforts to help me locate a package I will need before breast cancer surgery next week, 11/11. This has been a long, frustrating and anxious time, and instead of “passing the buck” as the employee in MO (the origin of package) did, Shabazz assured me that she would do all within her power to locate my package. At a time when we are all fighting personal battles, and not always up for going the extra mile, Shabazz stepped up and restored my faith in humanity, at a time when we all need it the most. I don’t know that she’ll be able to locate it, but I am confident that Shabazz is on the job.

My package was marked "delivered" and was supposedly placed in my mailbox....Really? A large box is supposed to fit in that letter size mailbox? 2 days later....I finally received my giant box. Where was it placed?...outside my gated house, LITERALLY INFRONT OF THE GATE, for ANYONE to grab and take. Ridiculous.

Very disappointed with this post office service. They lost my artwork in the mail to the value of $100, which she wrongly claimed was less than $25. I filled a claim and they claimed that it was delivered back to my address, despite my address being crossed out. She accused me of not telling the truth because they have no way to verify that they sent it to the wrong address. I had the tracking number and called to ask where the package was. It was not in my building, I asked all tenants in the building and it was not delivered. I filled a claim and the lady I talked to was incredibly rude saying "we make too much money to steal your item" "it was probably worthless" What kind of service is this? I know workers are over worked but this isn't a cause to be rude or unhelpful to customers. Its incredibly frustrating

Both times the passport services are closed according to staff because they are short handed. Not only shorthanded, they are rude and ghetto The clerk # 88 and the manager! I will go in on Monday and make my complaint known! SMH...

Started in Dec. Friends asking me if I got their Christmas cards. Then my landlord contacted me by email. My last two invoices had been returned, Dec. and Jan. Tried to talk with someone on the phone about it. My estimated wait time was 45 minutes to an hour! I'm going there in person on Tuesday.

Today tops another terrible experience at the N. Broadway Post Office. It is ten days till Christmas and only one person is on this morning. There are ten people waiting! It is roughly 9:30am where is everybody? Other awful experiences have been clerks talking to each other instead of taking customers, eating instead of taking customers, and I have even have a clerk taking a Personal Cell Phone call while servicing me! RUDE, RUDE, RUDE!!!!!

I'm surprised by the comments. I'm always treated well at this post office, and I have been going here for years. They have also been able to answer every question that I have had and help. This has not normally been my experience at other post offices, but at this Uptown one, they have been great! Plus the line moves quickly!

Worst service ever and I have never even been to this post office. I have to echo the comment below, been trying to get someone on the phone for about 2 hours and no one will answer. The zip code on my package was off by 1 number and went to Chicago instead of Bolingbrook, they actually "DELIVERED" it to an address that does not exist in Chicago. At this rate, my daughter will be in college by the time they answer the damn phone and she's just 2. When the Post Office starts having fundraisers and drives to stay afloat guess who will not contribute a third of a penny. If they knwo how to count they better not count on me

This is the worst post office in my experience. 2 Day Priority? Forget it. Watch the tracking, everybody else in the chain does their portion, a dead stall when it hit the Uptown PO. When you speak to them, they remind you "it's not a guarantee, sir". Ask them about why it took nearly forty hours to get from their receiving area to your mailbox, and it is "well, we're very busy".Unbelievable.
