Zero stars for this location. I submitted a Hold Mail request for 10/16 to 11/21, and received a confirmation number. Despite multiple phone calls directly to the post office and to the help line, mail is still being delivered. I have been on hold for 30 minutes at a time or my calls have gone unanswered. When someone finally took my call I was told the problem was taken care of. Today is 11/10 and my wonderful neighbor is continuously getting our mail out of our mailbox. That is not his job. It is the job of my local post office in Barrington, IL, and they are not doing the job that they are paid to do. I am disgusted by their treatment. My suggestion would be to retrain all of their employees or fire them because they are incompetent and very rude. Please do something!

I filed a “hold mail form” from 9/25-10/3/2023. for 21 Lakeside Drive, Lakeshore Estates, South Barrington IL 60010. When I went to PO to pick up all my mails, the woman employee told me “there is no mail” in my slot; she responded “it may have been delivered already”. But, there was no delivery at all infront of our home nor in the mailbox. So, please let me know via my email. Thanks for your services.

I use Informed Delivery. There were many items on yesterday's email. I checked twice yesterday and again this morning. Still no mail. My regular carrier has been on vacation & returned today 2/28. He told me no one delivered his mail yesterday. This is not acceptable. Please explain.

I evidently went past my 60 days for hold or forward. I got a call from the post office demanding I pick up the mail or it would be returned to the senders. I told them I was approximately 1500 miles away (actually, I think it might be closer to 1300) and Covid had restricted our travel. So I asked for a further hold or forward and was told I had no options other than picking it up or they will send it back. Funny, the government can suspend rent, send out money, restrict our movement, all based on Covid, can't keep a box of mail which costs them nothing, or certainly less than sending the mail back. For some reason I feel I am being punished.......... Also funny, I have been a supporter of the postal workers here for over 35 years, they have all been great. This policy is not with the times!!!!!

November 12, mail never came. This is not uncommon for the Barrington office. Has been better recently but overall very poor service.

I have on line purchases from four (4) different companies and it's been months since and I still haven't received any of them. Tracking numbers show it's arrive to my "locality" but I receive nothing.

I had an insulin delivery come six days after it reached the USPS and is now no good. Delivery on Friday, missed carrier. Apparently they require signature, not the sender in Canada but the US requires it. Ask for re delivery next day, call, told it was out for delivery so I could not pick it up. Next day Sunday...Call Monday AM, told it was on for delivery, took the day off...no one came. Was home from 8 - 7pm. Called next day and got nasty...requested it be delivered between 12-2. It finally arrived. Insulin coolant indicator shows it was exposed to high temperatures for too long and will need to be thrown out. I requested a refund from USPS and was told they don't do that. I am out $200 again (didn't put in complaint last time, even though same issues occurred). Was treated so rudely when I tried to explain that this was critical medication that must be kept cold!! Packed in ice. Insulation. What the hell do they want me to do??? I love that these are not read by postal workers!!!!

I live at 130 Arrowhead Ln in North Barrington and I would like to praise our carrier for being so thoughtful and for his extra effort to make sure our packages are safe and dry. He could easily save a bit of time by not making such an effort but he doesn't. Thank you mailman.

I was left 7 pieces of mail in my box for 7 other people at other addresses which may not be in THE COVES where I live. They were jammed into my p.o. box and I actually had some difficulty extracting them. When I called the post office today to report this and ask about retrieval, I was told to put them into my box for pickup. It was hard enough to get them out and I don't see it being reasonable for me to put them back. When I suggested that they be picked up, the person on the phone said he would see about my regular carrier coming to my door to do this. Again, I was told my regular carrier deliver this to my address which I find very odd as he has been spot on with delivery here. The person on the phone was not at all able to suggest anything until after I asked if this could be done. It will be interesting to see if this is done today. He told me I could take them to the post office but I suggested that that isn't my job to do this. I am actually talking about 7 different addressees and 7 different addresses and I am not sure these streets are in the Coves, where I live.
