The carrier left a package leaning against the mailbox post about 100 yards from our house. It was left on top of the remnants of two other packages abandoned by Amazon. These were torn apart by animals, probably possums or raccoons. Having had an injection in my knee this morning I'm not likely to hobble out of my car; but written on the top, within view is USPS. In the past I was told that those packages that would not fit within our box would either be brought to our door or returned to the P.O. for pickup with a note left in the box for info, not abandoned. What is up? If I feel able and it's not destroyed, I'll bring it back to you. If destroyed, I'll copy this email and a photo to the supplier for replacement. Note: our mailbox is about 100 yards from our deck/ house and out of sight.
I arrived at the post office right before closing, so I get why they seemed frustrated or flustered. But I had one question, “ could he hold my mail so I could go ahead and get my check.” Patrick seemed a bit grumpy and didn’t have friendly customer service. I’m sure he was just having one of those days. But it had been my first visit and I almost didn’t want to go back. I work in customer service everyday so I’m not going to hold it against him this time. We shall see about what happened next!
I was amazed to see our mail person go by our house yesterday, Dec 1,many times--leaving mail @ 2different times. Ours wasn't the only ones who got mail more than one stop. She went back &forth at least 6 times. Surely we need someone more responsible delivering the mail. Our normal carrier has been great for years & I know good help is hard to find, but this was beyond belief. Thank you Evelyn Binsz
