I reside at 1250 4th Street, SW, #W411, Washington DC 20024.
We have several mail officers have been coming to deliver the mail but they're not doing their job. We have a mailbox in the lobby to mail mail outside but it seems that the mail officers are not picking them up or miss deliver them since my 3 checks were not delivered and i have to pay $20 penalty for each check, $60 dollars total.And the postal inspector general must compensate me. According to the package's tracking history the WASHINGTON DC NETWORK DISTRIBUTION CENTER was the last recorded facility it was processed. The next line states that the package is "in transit to next facility" the name of that facility is not listed. Then the next line states "Sent to Mail Recovery Center." I filed a Mail Search Request Form (#13700919) and also called 800-ASK-USPS to check the status. I was told that these searches can take several months and that it will expire in one year. I received an email on 4/20/2022 stating that the search request has closed. Why? It has been only 90 days since the request was made. How can searches take several months when the search request expires before that time?
I just had to pay a stop payment on a check I made out on Feb. 1 2022 for a van payment that the bank did not get. It cost me $30.00 for a stop payment. This isn't the first time this has happened. It is getting rediculous. What is going on at the post offices these days. The bill payment was going to Cincinnati, Ohio which is due south of where I live. I live near Lake Erie east of Cleveland. I feel at this point the post office should reemburse me for the stop payment cost because of the post office irresponsibility. You can contact me at any time. Thank you
I was so reluctant to visit the post office because I had about 80 small packages that I had to mail to friend to facilitate the celebration of my Mom's 90th birthday. I was greatly surprised today to receive a warm welcome and helping hand from Michael Calhoun. You see I had visited the same post office yesterday and was met with an obvious objection and frustration regarding my large mail out. Not today, not Mr. Calhoun. He treated me with respect, patience and the utmost professionalism. I was so pleased and happy upon my leaving I yelled out "I love and appreciate you Michael Calhoun." Thanks to cool-headed professionals, I am again happy to return and promote the services that are provided by the Brentwood Postal Facility.
We had the best mail person in Northwest Rst street between 14th and 15th I think her name was Carolyn we would get our mail before six in the afternoon. I could sit my watch on her delivering the mail I knew I would get my checks and have time to deliver them to the bank before they close in the afternoon I wish we had her back.
Our mail carrier who delivers near Stanton Park is delivering mail only to every other house. She will bring our mail next door one day and skip our house having left our mail at the neighbors house. She switches which house to skip and will literally tell us we have no mail today after giving it to our neighbors.
The usps doing package delivery is a joke. The tracking numbers are too long. I have multiple packages set for delivery have never been received and is always late. Try and call hour long on hold. Try and call the posted number is wrong.
We had a new mail person to our block Morse Street NE, Joseph Cole Park area, and the mail person just left our mail outside on the ground. It was the mail for an entire apartment building and he left it outside on the ground and asked our 70 year old resident to pick it up and bring it in. People's mail and personal information could have been stolen. If he wasn't there, or trustworthy, it could have been taken.

I run a small business in Maryland, and this office has lost 8 of my packages that customers have paid for, all sent out on the same day. It's been over a month and they still can't find them but tell me they are not lost??? I sent about 50 orders out on the same day, packaged the same way but these 8 are missing!
we have sent our post office in Meridian, ID a notification that our mail has not been delivered for two days. no one responds. we will be sending a letter to the President of the U.S. as mail has to be delivered. what is happening with our mail?
I'm a postal carrier in MD and my guess is because of all the extra work. So please chill out and be patient. You folks don't understand the hard work we do all y'all wanna do is complain like management.

Help me understand why does the mail courier deliver the mail so late in the evening? I live on 19th street N.E. by Hechinger Mall. Mail doesn't get delivered until 7:30 8:00 in the evening. It's getting ridiculous. Sometimes I don't get any mail for 3 or 4 days. Please look into it.
A lot of extra work and not everyone is gonna get mail every single day. Please be patient and respect the fact that the carriers are hard workers. Thanks

1) DC USPS does not process or honor a single customer request that is available to submit via USPS.com. Five out of six times, USPS does not honor hold mail requests. Six out of six times, if it honors holds for letter mail, it ignores the hold for packages — so they stack up in full view of the public for however long we are away.
2) Requests for shipment pickup are consistently ignored. My regular letter carrier says he never receives pickup requests.
3) While the usual letter carrier is very good, package delivery by other personnel is haphazard and awful. Often, packages are not delivered to the actual address, but left 50 yards away in the bushes lining the parking lot. Packages are left strewn out of doors regardless of weather, so shipped items are often destroyed by rain.
4) Also, packages are often marked as “delivered” by the tracking system when in actuality they have not been delivered. Half the time, those shipment simply vanish — stolen, I assume. Sometimes the package carrier can’t find the location (even though it is a block from the US Supreme Court and Capitol, so hardly obscure) but marks the item delivered anyway so he doesn’t get caught for failing to do his job. Again, the regular letter carrier does good work. But those who substitute for him in his days off and/or dedicated package carriers are unreliable and mendacious.

All USPS office workers to me are rude and incompetent; same department of motor vehicle. They have no patient and no willingness to help. Yes, working on my tax dollars. I called 2 locations today and was placed on hold for over 30 minutes, still no one came back to the line. I called their 1-800 number. I got a number 202-636-1259 for the bentwood location which is different from the one on bentwood website 202-363-2130. This is not the first time it happens. Someone needs to update each location's web information. A lady picked up at the brentwood location, i answered with a happy good morning smile. She responded back with a smile and we had a great conversation. I was told that they do not take appointments, just walk ins.

This is the worst service ever. I too had a package I wanted redelivered. I set up the redelivery and got an email confirmation from the USPS. The package was not redelivered and no one answered the 2130 phone number. This is the reason for the USPS going out of business because of service like this. This type of service is just unacceptable. This is the tax payers money at work. REA
Unbelievably horrible. First, they don't even redeliver my package despite me setting up an appointment. I tried reaching them for 2 days and no one picked up the phone at all. Today, when someone finally picked up the phone i was put on hold for over 40 minutes. The people working there have got to be some of the world's laziest and most incompetent imbeciles. This kind of service is just unacceptable.
Agree with prior comments. USPS Brentwood NE DC office service is horrible. Clean house and fire the idiots. Its our tax money paying for this lackluster services. Come on post master general Patrick Donahoe do your job.
Phoned the 2130 number- the number just rang out. Tried again, was cut off before anyone answered the phone. Then tried the toll-free number. Gave up after being on hold for 22 minutes. THIS IS A THIRD RATE SERVICE!
