Terrible post office...the clerk blatantly admits giving my package to a customer he knows as a regular without confirming the address and the post master (who refuses to give her name...VALERIE)doesn't take any responsibility at all...not even an apology or an offer to help resolve the issue.I have to get resolution on my own!
The person who delivers packages to my garage door is terrible. It has cost me $198.00 in the past when a package of frozen lobsters were delivered and I didn’t know it for about 5-6 days. This past weekend three packages were delivered to the garage door and were subsequently rained on. I have a front door which will alert me to deliveries. I am elderly and sometimes don’t use the garage for at least a week. There is no roof over my garage door.
Jewett City post office is the worst I've ever experienced. I've been getting other people's mail continually for years. Other people get my mail. It just cost me $31 for a late fee on a bill because it was never delivered. Today, a package was due to be delivered, but wasn't. I got a notice that delivery was attempted and instructions left, but this didn't happen. Post office not answering their phones. The one time I did get a ring, they hung up without answering. The USPS needs to gut this post office.
Sent a important document certified mail first class mail,a flat standard magazine size 02/04/20 from Bloomfield,CT to Jewett City,CT. 55 miles away it took approximately 8 days! arrived on 02/12/20 cost $4.55 the Bloomfield postmaster I spoke with concerning the slow travel time just plain unprofessional! was the worse representative I have ever dealt with doing business in 40 years! Uncaring or concerned with the important timely contents inside absolutely no phone etiquette.
I've notice a decline in professional etiquette and service the last several years but wanted to support blue collar workers. Just a matter of time before congress realize US postal service just not what it use to be! and sell this mediocre service to capable private industry! I feel sorry for the blue collar workers who will lose their jobs over incompetent supervisors & managers!
Hello -- I must register a complaint. I am not sure who is at fault, but a small package was placed in my mailbox opened and with the seal broken. When I retrieved the package from my mailbox and opened it, the contents had been stolen. I drove to the post office to complain, but I was told that the package 'would not have been delivered' if the postal seal had been opened. Unfortunately, it is obvious that someone along the postal routes opened it and stole the contents. I know there is no way to prove this, but I want to get this on record in case this happens to someone again either along my route/town/etc.
Why does a letter I mailed to myself for proof of address (since presorted mail is not stamped with a date) take forever to get here? I walked inside the Jewett City Post Office and put it in the slot on Monday. Today is Thursday and I still have not received it. I get mail sent to me from California faster than that!
The Jewett City Post Office is the most unprofessional place I have been to. The manager there basically told me it was problem that they did not redeliver my package on time. I paid a huge amount of money to overnight my package and that was all she said. She didn't apologize to me or try to fix the issue. She also hung up on me when she did not have an answer when I asked her why they did not redeliver the next business day when that is what they guaranteed me. HORRIBLE way to do business and represent the company.
