I put a piece of mail out on Thursday evening with the flag up. Today is Tuesday and I watched the mail truck drive right by without stopping. What is wrong the carriers don't pick up the This is not the first time. Judy Mattox, Manager

Please have the Postman that delivers the mail to 411 Diamond Rd. Salem, VA. 24153 NOT walk through the landscaping. Our Ring recorded him today. We just paid over $2,000.00 for this work and it is not a walkway. He can walk up the driveway and side walk just like everyone else does. Your attention and response will be appreciated. This post office routinely messes up my packages when delivering. They ALWAYS bend "do not bend" things and ALWAYS stuff large packages into the mail box weather they fit or not. The post master says he will do something about this and never does

Had the worst customer service experience ever. Package was delivered at the wrong address and the man at the counter was less than apologetic or understanding (this happens all the time). Asked what options I had in case it happened again and his response was just to track all packages and come pickup all packages before they are sent out. I then stated I do not always have time to come by before they are sent out and that I tried calling multiple times… He laughed ! Actually said “yeh, good luck with that”…. As a previous mail carrier I had higher expectations of the Salem post office and I’m more saddened by the rude condescending attitude of the man at the front counter to his customers more than anything. I’m sure they are short staffed just like everyone else but what about the elderly or those who are not privileged enough to drive? Terrible service.

Haven't had any mail service since 1/18. Am 95 yrs old and unable to get from house to box so all maintenance and getting to me has to be done by my 74 yr old daughter or a 3rd party. I receive breathing meds from Reliant thru mail. Cannot contact local post office as no one answering phone. Whatever happened to the USPS motto about the mail always getting through?

Glad I’m not the only not getting mail. I have mail that I’m suppose to be getting not being delivered. Haven’t seen the mailman since Jan 18 as well.

I leave outgoing mail in the box to be picked up and it never gets taken. I leave notes and signs and the mail will still be in the box, waiting.

My mail delivery has been very bad the last year. My box cover is left open or not closed all the way, and my mail is so soaked, I cannot get my paper apart, nor read my bills as the ink has saturated the entire envelope. One day I was walking down my driveway as he was putting mail in my box (he didn't see me). He left it open. When I got in sight, as he was standing outside the truck doing something on the other side, I scared him a little as he jumped. I asked why he did not close my mailbox. He apologized. I asked if he would please close the front tightly. It did not good... terrible service.

My boyfriend and I have moved from Michigan to Salem VA. We changed our address back in august and still don’t get half of our mail or we get other peoples mail. I have packages from family that have been sent and I’m still patiently waiting. I’ve placed orders as well and paid to get it faster never got it. I have packages saying that they are on its way to be delivered and in route and never shows up. I’m getting really frustrated. Mail sure wasn’t like this back in Michigan. Never had any issues. If I don’t start receiving my mail I’m going to make the biggest deal of this. I’m pissed. People are paying for stuff and not even getting it. Stuff that’s been sent out the same time but doesn’t come together we got two cards separately which was really strange. My sister got hers one day I got mine the next but they were sent together at the same time makes no sense. Figure this out people not that hard to mail out mail.

Do you not realize what this world is going through. Wow you got a card a day later than your sister. At least it wasn't 2 weeks later better yet at all. The salem post office has always been good to me and are very sweet people.

I am glad that they are so kind and nice and sweet to you me and my family has had in runs with the. Thay are disrespectful ungrateful ugly harsh and mean to me and my family and I have so much more to say but I’m not I melted a care package to one of my friends that is in boarding school. Different sweets and snacks and card games and I put a card in there with a $45 in it and when she opened it it’s like the people we opened it and change the box because I didn’t use a normal post office box I use this pink color of rainbow one that I found on Amazon and I shipped it out that and 45$ was goon Half of the sweets were gone have the chips were gone some of them were opened and left in the box so I don’t get why post offices do that it’s not their belongings is it their name 🤬 no . And another incident is when I accidentally put the wrong address on something I ordered from Amazon that the post office was delivering I spelt it wrong and they said it was delivered but delivered to the post office in Salem and I showed them that it was delivered to you guys and they said it the wrong address we can’t give it to you because we don’t know if it’s you so we have to return it to Amazon you guys can get a refund then you can re-order it and put the right address oh ma’am I kind a need it tonight for a wedding a man well she said you’re too fat to be in the wedding anyway . 🤬🤬🤬 so we get all our packages now from FedEx so don’t use post office no more

What a great team. Since we moved to Salem, VA, we have had great service at the post office. When we had an issue arise with home delivery, the post master reached out via phone and reassured us that he’d find a solution ... and he did. Thanks for all you guys do. It’s much appreciated!

The Salem post office is not answering the phone. My package has not been delivered but an email is telling me it has been left at my front door few days ago... I am told by the sender to contact the post office. What am I supposed to do?

My mail has not gotten forward to me in 9 months and when I called about the claim the postmaster was not helpful and just blamed me even though I had hand delivered 3 change of address forms to one of the post office clerks at the post office.

The post master at the Salem City Post office is awful. He's rude, reluctant to check into things for the customers, and keeps a (hopefully unintentional) snarky and rude tone when in person. Back around December-January 2020 my mother in law had sent us a small amount of money in a card. She didn't think to insure it or anything, which was a bad idea, yes. We waited and waited to receive it, and when several days gad passed, we called my mother in law, got the tracking number from her for it, and then called the Salem post office. The post master told us that his driver's we're still out. We waited a couple hours, nope. Called again. He said, abruptly that no mail with our names/address was there and now the drivers were done for the day. He didn't even take a second to put the phone down and actually look. Instead, he got an arrogant attitude and expected us to just chock it up to a lost, uninsured package. When he refused to take a single minute to look, I'd finally had enough and blessed him out. After I'd called the higher ups and complained I then called Salem Post office again. When he came to the phone with an immediate attitude, I informed the post master that I had talked to and made a complaint with his superiors. Mysteriously, within 3 minutes he miraculously found our mail and we finally was able to go get it. Some sneaky things seemed to be going on.. the way it was all done was pretty suspicious, especially considering you could kind of tell what was in the envelope. After that whole incident, we started to doing money transfers with my mother in law. Geeze... The guy didn't have to act like that at all!!

I am so tired of getting mail for an address one street over with the same house number! It happens at least once a week. If the postal service is hiring carriers that can't read, then I think they should give my 10 year old grandson a job. He wouldn't make the same mistake over and over for years!

We want our regular mail carrier back !! She is outstand, however it seems we have had several different carriers lately and they are not doing a good job ! Mail being left in wrong mail boxes and the neighbors have to deliver mail to the right person ! Yesterday I put two packages in my big mailbox to be picked up ( No postage needed), put the big RED flag up, and when I went out to get the days mail, my packages were still in the mailbox ! I tried to call Salem PO, but the phone just rang and rang (three times), can't even talk to a person to report an issue ! Postage keeps going up and service keeps going down ! Unhappy postal customer !!

Package was marked as delivered to recipients mailbox. I was home and it was NOT delivered anywhere!! Not at my house, not my neighbors . . I didn't see it in the street, on a roof, a porch.... Call the customer service number given by the shipper and it simply repeats delivery confirmation listed on web site. If you ask to speak to a representative there is a wait time of 1-1/2 hours or longer. I spoke to the shipper. Item was in a BOX that was too big to fit in a mailbox. Someone gave false information in this situation. This is a recurrent problem. I've actually managed to get someone to answer the phone at post office but only by letting it ring and ring and ring and ring and ring and ring and ring..... I bet I let it ring for over 5 minutes while my phone was on speakerphone!

I have a tracking number and Salem postoffice can tell me where they have lost my package but they aren't qualified or responsible enough to deliver it or return it. Pam won’t return calls, Wanda doesn't know what to do and Debby will give you a useless phone number. when they can't pass the buck any longer they send out David Ayers to intimidate and bully you, and if that doesn't work they will call the police to ask you to leave. This is obviously why everything goes to Greensboro, they aren't qualified
