I'm beginning to think the postal carriers who work out of the USPS Milan Station for zip code 23508, have decided to deliver the mail only when it suits them and it doesn't suit them very often. I have lived in Highland Park, in that zip code, for 40 years and in the past two decades, the delivery service has been dismal. I have now gone a week without receiving any mail, which has never happened before. It seems that if there is even the slightest chance of inclement weather, the mail carriers just check out for the rest of the day. They definitely have the attitude that they don't have to carry out their duties if they choose not to do so. Yet, the USPS consistently raises their prices for their "lack of service" at least twice a year. So, we're paying much more and getting far less than we deserve.
