I have a MAJOR complaint and problem with your passport service part of the post office. I live in alpine and drove to Marfa to turn in my passport application. It was my first time applying for a passport and I brought all the necessary documentation only to find out more than a month later, the lady working there that handled my application and charged me the fees did not turn in my ORIGINAL birth certificate. I remember asking her if everything was correct and if she had everything she needed and she said yes and charged me while saying "This seemed so easy! I hope I didn't forget anything" that worried me so I even gave her my cell phone number and asked her to call me if she needed anything else she may have forgotten before I left town. After sending my ORIGINAL birth certificate back to the passport offices via mail I still hadn't heard back from the passport office and I called to check on the status and they told me that my application was never stamped by the post office before it was sent. As you can see this puts back my plans of travel and cost me more than what I paid for the passport for this lady to do her job and she didn't do it right. I am very upset and hope to get compensated for some of this. This is ridiculous that all passport offices in the area closed to leave only the one in Marfa and the person working there obviously cannot do their job correctly especially when handling important government documentation that could affect peoples lives and plans, as it did to me. Sincerely a very upset customer.
