The Jere Baxter Post Office does not give good service. I was there on May 4, 2023. The lady was very rude and refused to answer my questions. The Post Office is closed 90 minutes for lunch.

Today during my 30 min lunch I attempted to use my local post office. The time was approximately 11:00 AM 08/31/2020, when I arrived at 1011 Gillock St Nashville 37216 post office they had a sign posted stating “will return in 30 minutes Thank you”. I knocked on the door and asked how far they were into the 30 min break. I had to knock hard so they could hear me from the lobby. The lady that answered it was rude stating they had no obligation to put a time frame on the posted sign and that I could go to another post office. Questions, 1. I can understand people need to take lunch / breaks, but the staff is more than one person so why close the office. 2. the sign had no start time so I had no idea how long they would be on break. my lunch is only 30 min so I could not make a judgment call on to stay and wait or come back at another time because of the lack on information this sign gave. why was the sign so unprofessional no start time and no end time? Is this how the USPS is supposed to run with subpar customer service and being rude to customers ?

There's one person in this place, they go to lunch and the whole operation shuts down for an hour... the Postal service SHOULD go out of business, any company this horribly run should cease to function. Its time to privatize the PO and boot the unions who are running it into the ground.

Extremely pore service... If there is weather or a car in the way don't expect to receive your package or letters. I'm old enough to remember when the USPS was respectable and reliable. Previous postmaster would be rolling in their graves over Jere Baxter.
