I went to my post office and ask what I needed to do to have my mail sent to my new address. The clerk handed me a card to fill out. I did so while I was there. I handed it back to her she looked it over and said that’s it we will handle it from here. 33 days later still no mail. On th 34th day I received a letter from the post office saying my mail was on hold for the lack of the proper ID. Why the clerk didn’t tell me this I don’t know. I now have to go to my new post office and try to fix this mess. I am not sure was the problem lack of knowledge or just don’t care.

My complaint is I mailed a package at the Irmo SC post office on 1/5/23 priority mail and was told it would arrive on 1/7/23. Well not delivered. Package was going to Evansville Indiana and tracking said it arrived at the distribution center in Evansville Indiana at 1/7/23 at 8:58 am. Why was it not delivered that day since it went priority Mail? Not delivered on 1/8 and on 1/9 tracking system advised it was delayed and would be delivered on 1/10. Why does the post office charge for priority mail and not follow through on delivery? Have tried calling post office where package was mailed but surprise no one will answer the telephone. As a former postal employee I am surprised that service has gotten so bad.

I live in the Hopkins area, and it is now day two, 7pm, and no mail delivery has been made. I know this because I have had a letter to be picked up in my mailbox, flag up, and I just took it out so that I will have to take it to the post office myself. This is outrageously poor service!!!! The postal service should be ashamed to be considered in this manner! There is an older population that pays their bills by postal service, and right now, this is not a reliable means to do so.

On April 5, 2022 I mailed 200 invitations to a birthday party. The one in Atlanta was delivered, the one in Lancaster, SC was delivered but several of those in Columbia, SC have not been delivered as of April 26, 2022. I've tried to call the Columbia Post Office, no answer. At least my local Post Office was kind enough to tell me that they send everything through the Columbia, SC post office and to give it another week. It has been another week and nothing has been delivered. All I want to know if "where is the mail"

Why is it they ignore mail hold request then stuff the mailbox so full that mail falls out and is blown around the neighborhood? Why don’t USPS employees read these?

On August 23rd according to Amazon, and Postal Service Tracking ID #: 9374889745009257741072, I was supposed to receive a package. It didn’t arrive. I kept checking the tracking number and found it was taken to the local post office for pick up. I immediately went to the post office where I was informed that the package was handed over the counter to a person they could not identify. The postal supervisor claimed that to pick up the package this person would have had to present identification showing that they lived at the home, i.e. a driver’s licence. I told them that was impossible because only my girlfriend and I live there. She also rents out rooms in her house through Airbnb, but only for three days to three weeks. That is not enough time to change a driver’s license or make it worth it to do so. I left the post office extremely upset and unsatisfied with the answers I had been given. Since that time neither I nor my girlfriend have received any mail. Today is August 30th. I have informed delivery ,which has been telling me that I should have had many letters delivered to my address daily, but nothing has arrived. We Have not received any mail for the last week. When I reported to a postal supervisor that I was missing packages and mail for at least a week her reply was that the carrier had not delivered to our house yet. The carrier hadn’t delivered to our house for a week??? When I told her this she disappeared into the Post Office and a few minutes later she came back and told me that “Someone” had put our entire household’s mail on hold. She handed me a few letters. The amount of letters I was given did not even come close to what Informed Delivery had shown me I should have gotten. Among the letters missing was one that contained a new credit card. When I asked her where the rest of my mail was she gave me a blank unconcerned look and said nothing. So, to recap this incident, my local Post Office did not deliver a package with my correct address on it, for reasons I was never told, and then handed it over to an unknown person without the necessary identification to prove they lived at our address, who then put our entire house’s mail on hold without the proper identification while the local Post Office only collected and held ‘some of our packages and mail, but not nearly all of it’ unknown to us for at least a week, and one of the missing letters the local Post Office was supposed to have on hold ‘without my knowledge or consent’ contain a new credit card, and the only answer I received from the Postal Supervisor was a blank unconcerned stare. Please inform me that this warrants an investigation into how this post office handles its mail. Something is seriously wrong.

I have called several times and can not get an answer. Our school district mails checks out each month to our vendors and their mail is being returned which causes a problem with payment. This has happened several times. the postal system SUCKS!! i paid for a NEXT DAY ENVELOPE, December 29th 2020, to be sent to Albuquerque, New Mexico and it ended up in Las Vegas, Nevada. both here in Columbia and in Las Vegas, neither center did what was supposed to be done: send the package to the correct location or send it back to sender. the package has a bar code to minimize human error but it is up to the human to use the electronics in place. to this day tracking shows that it is still sitting in Vegas. i would have been better off sending it in a bottle...now i am trying to apply for a passport and the online service is not found and there is no one answering the phone at the Assembly St center...and when i show up tomorrow they'll tell me you were supposed to make an appointment!!! HOW?!?

according to tracking #9361289745009139319669 an attempt to deliver my package was made on Sunday, March 29, 20021 at 5:02pm. that is not correct. I was home all day!!!!! also, my house has a long driveway and has a driveway alarm that notifies me of any visitor. The driveway alarm did not sound. The FedEX delivery was made late afternoon and the alarm sounded. This is at least the 3rd time this same thing has happened. Right now I have no clue where the package is located. The post office near me is 29203. The last time I had to track down my package, I had to go to downtown Columbia. there it was finally located at the post office on Clemson Rd, Columbia SC. The package had the correct mailing address. This is totally ridiculous!!!!! I want someone to call me and let me know when I can expect the package. (803) 786-6012

I 've Been Calling Assembly Street Post Office Since 9am, Tuesday, Back Up 45 Minutes On Calls. Monticello Road Post Office Keep Hanging Up The Phone. App On Our Phone knowing Whats Coming In Mail. Never Receive Saturday Mail 24th. Mail Carrier Never Delivered Mail For 29203. Seen Mail Trucks Sunday 25th, Still No Mail For Saturday. Monday Comes Saturday Mail Deliver. Puzzle Where The Heck Is Monday Mail, App Stated Mail Placed On Truck 8am Monday Morning. Poor Service, Customer Relations Sorry. 20 Years Ago News Media Done A Story On The Post Office Here In Columbia South Carolina, Nothing Have Improved. About To Cpntact The Media, I've Called Them 6 Times. Fed Up. We In The Black Communities, Don't Get Our Mail Until. Sometimes 6pm In The Evening. Forest Drive And Arches Get Their No Later 10am In The Morning White Communities. We All Pay Your Salary.

I sent my grandson a card on Sept. 10 & received it back on Oct. 2, 2020. @ 800 Alexander Road apt 224D Columbia, SC 29033 It was sent back: return to sender This was because I put D behind the 224 . The mail person knew that it should have just gone to 224. This is how people work today & they wants us to mail in our votes ! This should be corrected ......My daughter also did the same thing. Take pride in your work ??

can't get post office in Ridgeway to deliver my mail or pickup our mail, I went to post office and asked why, was told we had a sub. EXCUSE me, we had nobody, they just didn't get it, was no help at all, didn't get any response from this the next day

Not a good one! About 3weeks ago, received a package 📦 from a friend, he sent me 15 dvds, when I got the package, it had been opened, 13 dvds we're gone with other items. Today I got a package that should y had a picture 📷 in it, it was opened, nothing inside. Called my local po, no help, called the 800 numbet, no help, just a machine. Called the main point in Columbia, rang about 10 times and click, no answer, called about 15 times. My friend replaced the dvdy, not the point, where are the others? List a package of dvds between dvds between sc and nc months ago, never showed up. No help from the po, are they always on break, or just screwing off??? Make you wonder what they're getting paid to do.

I ordered some clothes online and they never made it to my home. I received a delivered notification on April 26th while I was at home waiting for my package. I immediately notified the USPS and filed a case. No one didn't call me. After waiting 3 days I decided to call the number that was provided to me for Assembly St. PO but no one answered for 2 days. Then I decided to take an extended lunch and go to the PO and to my surprise another customer was there waiting for the same reason I was there. She didn't receive her package either but got a delivered notification. We waited almost an hour just to be told to go online and file a missing mail report. Needlessly to say it has been 13 days and I still haven't heard anything about my package. Or a possible refund. I have been calling but no answer. The moral of the story is I don't understand why the cam't track there carrier down and ask them where did they delivered my package to because it wasn't my home. By the way, this has happened before with another package of mines. The only difference is the other package was found. Or placed on my porch by whomever house it was delivered to. I am beyond pissed!! That package was clothes for my child! I want my items and somebody need to do something about it.

The postal carrier that works in our neighborhood is a really fine man. I live on Lambeth Court in Whitehall, and we have had the same mail carrier for quite a while. When I pulled in my driveway Monday I saw his truck parked at my neighbor's mailbox; the the carrier was in my neighbor's front yard and helping my neighbor get up. He had fallen and laid there for about 30 minutes before our mailman came. My neighbor, Chuck, had a lump on the side of his head, a large skinned area on the side of his face, and a swollen left hand. He had been working at removing limbs from a tree in his yard, and had fallen and could not get up. The mailman saw him, and the two of us got Chuck in his house and in his chair. Chuck said repeatedly that he did not want us to call anyone that he would be fine. When we were sure Chuck was OK, the carrier went back outside and got all the tools Chuck had been using and put them in the garage, including the extension cords. He was very concerned and compassionate, and his help was very appreciated by me, by Chuck and his family. I don't know his name, but he was certainly wonderful on Monday in more than just delivering the mail.

Received a box of books and unopened returned it to PO for return to sender. Received it back from carrier with note saying it could not be returned after it was opened without paying postage. Someone in the PO opened it and stole 3 books and bonus. It had USP tape all over the opened end.

Please tell him that he is the best, most professional, most helpful, most courteous, most marvellous postal carrier I have ever met and that the entire neighborhood shares my opinion. I mailed a bubble envelope to Plainfield, IL on July 26. This was not Priority Mail, nor did I insure it. I personally handed the envelope to the postman asking could he have it mailed. Said "sure. no problem." So I assumed he would get it mailed. My recipient told me On 8/9/18, that he never received it. Went back to the local post office (29212) and they told me they could not track it since I did not mail it Priority Mail. Although the package was not an expensive package, the recipient was waiting on this package. I sent a check to him to cover the cost of the package. He never received the check either. What else can I do about non-delivery of mail sent from home? This is the first time this has occurred, but shouldn't have happened since I handed the envelope to postman. Local post offices don't offer any help. Lousy customer service.

The post office over here needs a whole new staff.. There rude and lie on who is really who there. I have made several complaints about them and nothing is being done I have important mail that is being put in my neighbors mail box instead of my box..trying to find out the next steps

Okay, for the past month or so my mail has been arriving later and later, I used to recieved mail before or around 11:00 am NY time. Yesterday, (1/19/2018) my mail did not arrive until after 5:00 pm.. I dont know if the route has changed or what, but there needs to be a tracker on the trucks so that it is possible to check a guestament on when one's mail will be arriving. With some people's packages being stolen, it would really help. Please work on getting this fixed. Zip code is 29169 SC. Thank you.

I want the mail to come sooner like at 1:00pm to my address I hate waiting for my packages because I get excited and then I realize I have to wait and there is no way to track where the mail person is because there is no tracker online. Please create a mail tracker online or have them come earlier.

I am completely disgusted by the lack of help at the 29201 location. I get packages delivered to my house on a weekly basis. Before xmas there was trouble with one of my deliveries. Not a huge deal. When tracking the package, the message said it could not be delivered to my house because it wasn't a legitimate address and that they had actually tried to deliver it, which is a lie. First problem. I had no phone call, nor any note on the door about a package. I ordered a re delivery and double checked the address. It was entered the exact same way as all my other packages that have been ordered through the same site. Then I check this morning and it says the post office is sending it back to the manufacturer. Second problem as I'd already paid the extra money for it to arrive before xmas. It's almost New Years. I come to the physical location today, and the lady who I spoke to was no help. Her name is Joy by the way. She told me to call the basement number which I guess is where they keep the packages? Either way I called all the numbers listed, each about three times. No answer any of the times I called. I went back to Joy and told her the issue. She told me to keep calling. Well lady I have a life I can't stand at a phone all day calling with no answer. I asked if there was any way someone could go down there and see what was up or to find my package. She said no. I then asked for a supervisor or a manager, whoever was next in charge and she said the only manager was on vacation. So who is supposed to help when issues arrive when the other employees are grossly incompetent? I'm less upset about the package and more upset about the fact that Joy was not willing to help figure out what was going on with my package and did not seem to care either about an important package supposed to have been delivered a week ago. Awful customer service and I'd advise the manager to take a look at her work ethic.

It is now 5:30 pm. I have mail on my box that was supposed to go out today. This is the third time I have had mail not picked up by the postman. I time my cards, etc. to reach the recipient on their special day and now a dear 92 year old lady will not be getting her birthday card! I don't know what it will take for the carrier to pick up my mail when it is out for pickup.

I paid for an important package to be sent Priority Mail 2-Day Delivery. It was sent Monday morning at 11:36 a.m. from NY. It arrived in Columbia, SC at 3:42 a.m. Wednesday morning. Today is Thursday and I am still being told it is in Columbia. I was told yesterday by a USPS Supervisor that Priority Mail 2-Day is not a guaranteed service. SO WHY DO THEY OFFER 2-DAY SERVICE AND ASK YOU TO PAY THROUGH THE NOSE FOR IT???

The postal service has been the worst I have ever seen the last year. I don't know what has changed, but it takes over two weeks for mail to get anywhere in the state of South Carolina. We have even had bundles of mail show up three months later. What is going on. You can't depend on the service anymore. I am looking for alternative services.
