Good evening. I am a concerned citizen and would like a serious matter investigated. The mail service in the 19120 zip code area mail carriers are not not taking the responsibility to deliver the residents mail as they were trained to do. Your employees do not take the time to give the mail to the proper address listed on the packages or letters, as well as knock on the door to inform the residents that a package is sitting outside of their residences. Many times my packages have been misplaced, open and/or crushed. I am aware of the shortages of workers due to the COVID, but the personnel who are working should have the decency to properly place the mail where it belongs. I have tried to reach out to my local post office, but either the phone is busy or the website is down, so I found your email address hoping you can help. I hope you can help with this issue. Thank you for your time.

When I tried to call the number listed online for the 30th Street Post Office, (215) 895-8970, I got a message saying that this number is not in service. Given all of the negative reviews I've read regarding USPS services, this seems like an easy and necessary problem to fix. I am now on hold waiting to see whether anyone responds to the 800 number listed. A message said that the wait time was 4-6 minutes, but I have already waited much longer than that, and I am unwilling to waste anymore time waiting.

It is a classic lesson in futility to get through to a human being even at the main Philadelphia, PA postoffice to complain about such rotten mail delivery. Don't even try calling your local PO, they won't answer the phone no matter how long you ring it. And what chance does a letter to the Postmaster in Washington, DC have of getting through. We are all the victims of a system that is in fail mode on heading for a financial cliff in the near future.

Lousy service. I live in South Plainfield NJ & my post office has a problem delivering the mail. My mail carrier has been neglecting her job. She went a whole week without delivering our mail. We are expecting a check from Maschio's Food Service addressed to Michael Salerno, he needs that check to pay his bills. Do people's mail gets thrown in the trash at the end of the day without asking them permission to do so? That is illegal!

I am highly disappointed and very angry. Today I received a room book that I had been waiting for, only to open the package and find it water logged. It must have been raining when it was delivered because it was placed on top of other items to keep them dry. The delivery person could have left them behind the storm door and all of the items would have been. Now the book is ruined.

They are all jokes. Typical Gov workers, lazy. Our tax dollars go to this? No wonder USPS is going broke. They should just shut them down. Tried calling multiple locations and the phone numbers do not work for any of them. I go to the location at Encino Rio and the worker asked if I made an appointment. I told him I tried calling but the phone number doesn't work. He gave me a not surprised look. Without looking at a calendar he told me it is going to be a long time before he could schedule me in. Even though there was only one other customer in post office. Very annoying. I will now go out of my way to not use the USPS.

THE WORST POST OFFICE EVER!!!!! Where are all of my packages? Who do you "Deliver" them to? Unacceptable, USPS must investigate this branch! How many complaints are required to do a full investigation? My Federal taxes are going to this poorly operated facility I have a mailman who does not deliver in the rain, personally I have several thousand $$$$ in lost packages (I can't imagine what the total amount is for their assigned area). What will it take to get this place up and running? I've never experienced such out right theft in my life. I am currently in tears, an expensive package was "delivered" and signed for--NOT FROM ANYONE IN MY HOME!!!!

My regular mailman went on vacation and someone at the post office changed the status of my address to "vacant". I called the post office and the supervisor said they did not know who did this. This really scares me as they don't seem to have checks in place to keep our mail secure. I will try to get to the bottom of this and if I can't get cooperation from the Post Office, I will have to go public via several media channels.

5-14-15 Went to the downtown post office this morning at about 11:00. I was approached by a young woman on the way in, trying to persuade me to give her money. I managed to make it by her and go into the the PO. On the way out, she was still there, but did not approach me. However, when I got into my car, a man in a wheelchair was knocking on the wondow of my car, also trying to get money. When I managed to pull out, he hurriedly wheeled over to another car, where a woman was getting in to leave. She barely managed to get into her car before he rushed right up to her door, aggressively (again) tyring to get money. This sort of thing happens ALL THE TIME!! Can something be done about this? We should be able to visit thte PO without being accosted by bums, some of whom are (like the guy in the wheelchair) are extremely aggressive and some who might just be crazy. It's scary and aggravating. Get it together, USPS!!!

Rochdale Village Post Office is one the worst in Queens. My mail is constantly being delivering between 4 and 5 PM. Currently I received a slip to pick up a package at the Post Office. I called first and was told the package was there, and would not be redelivered without my consent, but when I get to the Post Office no one can find the package. Plus the fact that the supervisor does not know if the package is on the truck for redelivery or who is even delivering mail on the route. I am still awaiting for a return call from the supervisor on the where about of my package. The whole Post Office needs new competent employees from management down to entry level .

This post office is a joke. Don't try calling this post office by phone because the answering system is full regardless of when you call this post office. If you call any of their listed phone numbers you are wasting your time and all that will happen is that you will get frustrated. Don't waste you time, go to UPS or FedEx and get real service. The post office needs to be privatized and run by professionals. Get rid of all the useless employees, hire people who care about how they work, people with work ethics, not just people who care about a paycheck and then the post office will make money. All I am trying to do is find out what happened to a package that I mailed two weeks ago. It disappeared from this post office. I am assuming it has been stolen. I sent it with delivery confirmation and the item was lost at this post office. this is not the first time I have had an item stolen from someone working at the post office. unfortunately a person gets so frustrated trying to find out what happened to the item that they mailed with not being able to talk to anyone at the post office that the person attempting to get an answer gets so frustrated without being able to talk to anyone, they just give up and chalk it up to experience, bad experience. The post office needs some major changes, the first being getting rid of all the useless employees, which would mean firing 95% of their employees.

To make a passport appointment you must call. But they have no "hold" service. So you get to take potshots for a couple of hours hoping to get through. The message you get just says 'sorry we're busy try again later'. Really poorly done. give us an email option, an online option, or a phone system that is brought up to the 1970's at least.

I was just at the Southridge location waiting in line to purchase stamps. It was 1:58 PM according to my watch. The gentleman in front of me purchased stamps and when the employee handed him his stamps he looked at me and said "I'm closed". I informed him I just wanted to purchase stamps and he said "I'm closed, I'll be back at 2:45" and then slammed the door in my face! This guy has no business working in customer service if he's not going to do his job. I'd would have fired his ass on the spot if he worked for me.

USPS, through rain, sleet, snow, nothing shall keep them from being perpetually late. I actually go out of my way to have packages delivered through ANY OTHER DELIVERY SERVICE. However, sometime it is unavoidable and when it is unavoidable it doesn't matter how much you pay or which delivery you opt for or what time of year it is...you can count on them being late.

Since when is "because they don't hafta" the correct answer for why we aren't having mail delivery. Since I couldn't get my branch office to answer their phone, I called the US postal systems 800 number. That is my answer to whatever happened to always delivering the mail.
How do you pick up your own mail, if you aren't having mail delivery? No one seems to know that answer. The branch office has a long line waiting just to get inside. My husband has Parkinson, and he went to find out my answer for how to pick up the mail. Of course, he didn't stay to find out. The local post offices don't answer their phones, and then I got the above answer from our governments 800 number. Where do you go to find out these questions?

A wonderful experience this particular post office is. It was as I was entering the twilight zone with a whole variety of turns and twists. Once I came and it was closed but not for lunch for all I know. The second time when I arrived there were many folks in front of the line sending 45 cardboard envelopes. Each one had to be carefully inspected and tagged. With all this time on my hands I wore down my phone battery. Never had an attitude from the worker there as I never had an opportunity to deal with her. A lonely worker by herself can go crazy over there. A little television Jerry Springer yes that's what matters amongst the rest. Read a book that's not for her it will be unfair to us. Overall a great experience I hope to deal with her and see what the people here decree.

Do not try to get above your post master because they will not give you information or number of who they work for. And believe it or not these people who do not do their job, are still getting a damn good paycheck, benefits and retirement. Why save the postal system, shut them done and start over because obviously the system is broke, or the people running the system need replaced, years ago.

We ordered something from Amazon.com they shipped it and carrier got it which is USPS, Bloomington, IL. Packaged labeled Dec. 8th, and upon tracking it, it says that expected delivery is Dec. 15th by 8 pm and still no package until now. We're so sad because that's for our 6 year old daughter. That's her only wish and I'm losing hope not if we can still have it. I don't know what happened with it.

I purchased a first class stamp to mail a ticket to the transit authority in sept. Last week I received a notice for the same ticket classifying as delinquent unpaid and a ticket that was $75 is now $145.
I contacted the transit authority and the usps, both were vague in resolving the issue. When I spoke to usps employee about my situation they instantly were on the defensive and unhelpful. Because of mishandeling of my mail I have to pay an extra $145 on top of the $75 I put as money order. My mail as well that is shipped to where I live does not always get delivered to me either they lost, mishandeled, or withheld I would not be sure cause they were not cooperating when brought to there attention.I can see my tax dollar's are not putting into good use, the quality of employee, education trainingPlease double check mail

Based on the below comments I don't even want to deal with the people there but why is it that it's been sitting in Bellmawr's location for almost 2 weeks now?

Today is 12.06.2014. I am submitting this comment as a result of the frustration that I, along with Countless others, have experienced recently with USPS. I have called five different phone numbers, and nobody answers. It just rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and . . . . no live person, no recording, no nothing. It just rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and rings and . . . . On the website USPS.com, the tracking information is not updated. This was the only reason I was trying to speak to a Live person -- trying to find out the status of a package I was supposed to receive yesterday or today and have not. I understand that this is a Very busy time of year for USPS, but to let your customer service become practically non-existent is not good . . . . customer service. I used to think very highly of USPS but not anymore with the recent problems and Frustration I have been experiencing. The USPS needs to step up their game and start displaying care again to their customers. This seems to be the case at a lot of post offices. Nobody cares enough anymore to do their job Correctly and with Care.

I was checking on a package that showed delivered under the tracking number, but we did not receive it due to our office being closed on Fridays. The supervisor was put on the telephone and told me she was in a meeting and to call back after 10:00, then she hung up on me!! Incredibly rude behavior for a supervisor.

Not too many will believe me. They will think that I'm just a grouch. Our mail comes anywhere from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. We get meds delivered by mail, which means we have to go out in the dark during the winter so our meds don't sit out all night. We get other peoples mail, and they get ours. Not 2 weeks go by without getting someone else's mail, and even had someone show up at our door with our meds, from about a half a mile away. I've called in only to be basically told off by a supervisor. Her excuse was they are understaffed. My job wasn't easy, why should theirs be? Everyone could use help so just do your job. If you can't deliver the mail until after dark, then you need to start earlier in the day.

Linda who answered the phone was rude and she put me on hold forever while she took another call probably to her crack head boyfriend on her cell phone. When She finally got back on the line, I told her why I was calling and She said "i don't know why you would call looking for your package here" I have been trying to get through the costumer service line but because of elections I couldn't. My mail lady said to call the post office where the package would be going through at, and to that Linda replied with, "I don't know why should would tell you to do that." Horrible service!

The customer answered the same questions many times. How sad!

I was just in the post office today. This is the closest location to where I live and it is the epitome of why the USPS costs tax payers millions of dollars a day. I got there at approximately 1245, they closed at 1. Ruby saw me put my book into the packaging at the counter. I asked for the cheapest option. She told me the cheapest option was Priority and that it would be $10. I confirmed that there was no cheaper option. She said "NO cheaper option for where the package is being sent" So I slid my card. She said "Well, it's too late now." I asked for what? and she replied "If I had known it was a book you could have sent it media mail" I am blown away at how terrible the customer service is. At this point it was 12:57, a couple walked in wanting to send off a few boxes, they stood in line for a few minutes, then a USPS worker came out and told them they had to leave, the office was closing and they wouldn't have time to check them out because staff had to leave at 1. Absurd.

I've been trying to call this location since they opened, for the last 6 hours, simply to verify the PO Box address, but either the phone is busy or it rings continuously. Where is everyone? I called the customer service number (1-800) shown on the receipt instead, and they said there was nothing they could do, I would need to call the office directly. I said I've been trying since this morning and she yawned on the phone while telling me she could not help. So the only option is to drive to this location just to verify an address? What horrible customer service!

I do not go to the post office to chat, I go to the post office to mail my stuff and want to just be in an out. Also, I noticed during 11:30 am - 1:00 pm which is the time when most people have time to go to post office because it's during their lunch. They take lunch as well and usually there are not enough people working. Why can't the assign more people to work during those peak hours? Shouldn't there goal be providing efficient service to the public (tax payers)?

On May 21st I went in person to this post office and was assisted by the counter agent in filling out a temporary change of address form. I paid a sizeable amount of money for this service I was assured that everything would be just fine. After almost 3 weeks, I have yet to receive a single letter. I sent my sister over to see what the problem was - since nobody ever answers the phone at that location. My sister informed me that my postal carrier only this morning received my temporary change of address form. He had been delivering my mail to my regular address and when the mail box became too full, he brought all the mail back to the Valley drive location and placed it into a large mail bin. It was only then that he noticed, or was given, my change of address form. I'm going to demand a refund. I have never seen a business run with so much disfunctionality.

Why is my mail not being delivered. The whole neighborhood North Chevey Chase, MD) has had no mail deliveries since Thursday, February 13, 2014. It is now February the 19th. I have important medicine and other documents that normally come via the USPS. The phone(s) at our local post offices are always busy and no one seems to be able to help or even care.

this location is under staffed to say the least. seldom are all windows open and the one or two clerks are not sufficient to handle the volume of customers, often 50 or more in line waiting patiently for over an hour to mail their orders. not satisfactory.

Today I stood in a line of 9 people with one clerk waiting my turn to send off a 3 day and a certified letter. Carol immediately noticed where I was missing the address on the front of my envelope although I had the card and track slip completed and my other envelope ready. She curtly advised me that I would have to step away to the counter behind me and put the address on the envelope and called on the next person right in my face. I stepped to the back of the line and waited again for 3 other people so I could complete my two transactions. I advised Carol that her behavior was rude. This person needs lessons in customer service. Just because the post office is a government position does not give her the right to treat people rudely. I am quite positive that she never smiled to all 13 people. I was not the only person slapped on the hand and sent to the back of the line. How rude. I am a paying customer and deserve to be waited on professionally and assisted if I've missed something, not treated like a naughty child and penalized. Give that job to someone who will appreciate the opportunity to serve. After all, she could have processed my completed second transaction while I put an address on an envelope.

Just stopped to mail a package and was greeted with a disgruntled "we're closed". Um, OK. I can use the automation. Can I borrow some regular tape? No. Only selling tape. I decided to take my business across the street to UPS. $4 less than USPS, tracked and the tape was free as were the smiles. Get it together USPS.

They absolutely refuse to simply pick up a phone, which is most likely due to the fact they know they will have to work, and that work entails fixing all their massive screw-ups.
Postal employee, please do not spend unneeded time wondering why branches are closing and government workers are losing their cushy jobs!
Sincerely,
Still Waiting For My "guaranteed " Package from two days ago.

I have been having trouble with them losing packages of mine since April. Around graduation time, three cards ended up missing along with a delivery from Old navy. Now a priority delivery I mailed on the 17th that was supposed to be delivered to my family in another state by the 20th is missing. I keep calling the 1-800-number getting the same message I get when I check online...it's at a sorting facility in Bloomington....going on three days, now. They don't answer the phone and when they do, they tend to be rude and rush you off the phone. When you go in person, they tend to be nicer while giving you the run around. I really hope my little sister, nieces, nephews, and little cousin's Christmas isn't ruined because of the post office. I was quiet about the incidents around my graduation but I am going to be really upset if they ruin Christmas. Who do you complain to because I am sick of dealing with the people at the post office. I try to see the good in people and try not to think the worse but I feel like there's funny business going on at this location.

I concur with BL's post below. I've never come across a Post Office employee who is so openly hostile to customers. This is easily the worst Post Office I've ever come across in terms of customer service. Something as simple as puchasing a stamp to put on a letter draws a sneer - it's as though the employee is reluctantly doing you a personal favor by accepting your letter for the mail.

Here's my experience with this post office... from omahanews.comJust a quick note of frustration…I’m in the post office at Boystown the other day. It’s a busy time of day. There is a line almost out the door, and I’m in a hurry. I’m sure all of the customers were in a hurry to some degree or another. Very few folks I know desire to spend their time in the post office. So, anyway, I wanted to get in, conduct my business, and get out.The employees there were clearly not in a hurry. Oh, my land, you’d have thought they were working under water. Every move an effort, every motion a decided and difficult task. What really burned me is that there were only two desks open, and this was during the lunch rush. I could see quite a few other employees working in the back, behind the front desk.Look, I’m just an average citizen, post office master, or whatever you’re called, but here’s an idea… bring the people in back up front, at least during the rush, and then let them go back to their jobs in back! It’s called customer service. It’s called good management. To extrapolate, this is how I know Obamacare will never work. Government does only a few things well. Let me back up… there are only a couple of things that government should be doing in the first place, like waging wars and printing currency. For other activities, we need competition. Competition sharpens service and improves products. This then feeds demand, which then lowers prices. This, ultimately, lifts the standard of living for everyone, including liberal Democrats, though they will never give the free market credit for it.I left the Boystown post office keenly aware of why the post office will lose Saturday service, and why it will eventually be a relic of the past. It will soon go the way of the phone booth and the buggy whip. Something better will come along. That’s called creative destruction. That’s the free market. The United States Postal Service lost $16 billion in 2012, and I’m not so simpleminded that I blame poor customer service in Boystown for its eventual demise. But know this, postmaster, you’re not helping yourself. Your days of working like a slug in the mailroom are numbered, and justifiably so.

Ditto. I arrived a few minutes before closing time to pick up a package at the Lockhill Station, but they would not let me in. They told me to go to a side door to ring a bell, but 40 minutes later no one had answered the door. I called the 800 number and it rang for about 15 minutes and had recordings until a person in California answered. The person at the locked door also said they could not retrieve the package, even when they repeatedly unlocked it to let others go out. Closing earlier than advertised seems to be a recurring problem. It is difficult to pickup a package when they don't open early enough to go before work. It is even worse that they close early making it impossible to pick up during the week at all. The person at the 800 number said they sometimes close early when they have customers waiting and so they can put mail on an outgoing truck before it departs. All signs of management problems that do not priories customer service.

I hope you are not giving the lady a larger area to cover! If this is the new route I am not satisfied! I just spoke to someone in timekkeeping and he said this could be the way the route is set up! This is a lame excuse! Everyone should feel the lateness of receiving their mail LATE! There should be a rotating delivery system! I am pretty sure the POSTMASTER GENERAL is not receiving mail at 5PM!

I am unbelievably frustrated. Trying to talk to somebody who works here via the phone is absolutely impossible. When you call their "contact number" it takes you to a recorded message that has no options. It just rattles off some information about passport applications and then hangs up. If you call their toll free number, its all automated with a voice recognition system that has limited options. I'm simply trying to TALK to someone about a package that went missing, and I can't get in touch with anyone who actually works at the post office.

CANNOT ACCEPT NON DELIVERY OF PACKAGES TO SARATOGA ACERS. MANY OF US HAVE HEALTH PROBLEMS THAT REQUIRE MEDICATION THROUGH THE USPS. PILLS AND PACKAGES COMMING MANY TIMES A WEEK. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO RUN TO MALTA EVERYDAY. NOT ONLY THAT, FIRST WE RECEIVE A NOTICE TO PICK UP THE PACKAGES LATE IN THE DAY, SO WE CANNOT RECEIVE OUR MEDICATIONS UNTIL THE NEXT DAY OR WHEN EVER WE CAN MAKE IT TO MALTA.
I STRESS, THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA.
WHAT OTHER SUGGESTIONS DO YOU HAVE FOR US.

I understand you may be frustrated with the service at this facility. But to call anyone "retarded" is just ignorant. If you have a complaint that one thing, but to be insulting to people for any reason is uneducated and incompetent. If you had this approach dealing with the situation, I am not surprised you had a problem. I think you maybe a part of the customer services issues you have. I don't think all the individuals you deal with are drunk, on drugs or are retarded. Please don't use the comments section to show off your ignorance.

I have found my mail opened many times. It is a violation of privacy and I really wish it would stop. I was expecting a package and when I checked online the status read delivered. I could believe that they would leave it in the hallway in a five unit building. When I went to the post office they were rude. She went to check for the package and came back with the package. She then said the mail carrier decided not to leave it but she had already scanned it. She explained that is why on our website it states delivered. To me it look like they wanted me to believe that someone in the building stole the package because they had intentions to steal it. Just today I got a letter from America General Life Insurance and it was opened. How frustrating this is.

Worst Post Office in DC.  There is only one employee who thinks it's appropriate to display multiple crosses and have both the radio and television on at all times.  Her hours are not 9-4:30, instead they're about 9-1 and then 2:30-4:30, which means that she gets an hour and a half lunch break.  During that time you are not allowed to enter the Post Office space, thus you can't even grab a box to mail at a later time and she will not answer the phone if you're calling with a question.
