Last week (11/14/23), I went into the Carlisle USPS location after a package of mine states it was delivered to a business mailroom/reception area. My home is not a business, nor is there any around me. I ended up speaking to an employee, Caleb, that took my name, number, and tracking number and searched around the back. He told me my package was delivered 3 blocks away to the Dickinson College! Not even close to my address. When I asked how this would be resolved, he said someone would try and go get it and redeliver it. I asked if someone would call me. He said "only if there's a question or problem". Well no one called and it showed up 2 days later. Now another package of mine was supposedly delivered today (11/18/23) to my mailbox, which the package wouldn't be able to fit in there, so I searched the surrounding areas and neighbors (which I feel I shouldn't have to do) and again - no package anywhere. Post office is closed until Monday and I'm out another package because they cannot seem to get things right. You look at the package address and you deliver it there.. not somewhere else or just leave it randomly in an unoccupied area. I cannot believe this!
Have been trying to reach a person to no avail. I have a package to be delivered and they want a signature. So I tried to do the electronic sign on line again get error messages. Trying to get thru to the post office, it rings and rings then hangs up on me. I am so fed up with these automated phone systems and the carrier on my route who has not bothered to knock loudly enough for me to hear to give them a signature. Fix your phone systems and your carriers need to be retrained. Fed up in Carlisle.
was away for one week from 4/30/22 to "end date" 5/7/22 (which is a Saturday). The USPS says the Delivery Option is "Carrier Delivers Accumulated Mail". Today is Tuesday 5/10/22. As of 10:00am no mail has been delivered. There is mail to be delivered according to the Informed Delivery system, there is considerable mail from last week and several pieces from yesterday. Since my wife and I are both suffering from Covid it is not feasible or wise to go to the Carlisle P.O. to collect our mail but we are left with no way to contact the P.O. No one ever answers the phone and unless I physically go the USPS to collect the mail, I am at a loss. Now What?
Our Post Office personnel are outstanding. They are always courteous, always well informed, give sufficient info on mailing options so consumer can make quick decisions. The lobby is always well stocked, even now during the crisis. I live in the country and the delivery personnel are incredible. Truly - through rain, sleet, snow, heat, storms - you name it, with regular mail, large deliveries and packages from near and far. This president and perhaps our culture vastly underestimates the importance of the USPS service to a very wide swath of Americans. It should NOT be treated as a "for profit" business (such is the province of the spoiled and out of touch 1%'ers). It is uniquely a service and I am grateful for it. Thank you all USPS workers, so essential to America.
I cannot stress enough how satisfied I am with USPS Carlisle staff. I had an issue today with a scheduled pick up that was not picked up. I called the post office and spoke with Nate (whom I've spoken with in the past). He offered to contact the driver and within just a few minutes after our conversation, the driver was back and picked up my packages. Are you kidding me?! So impressed with customer service!
Poor service and mail carriers are lazy and lie. I received an e-mail on Saturday that my package was out for delivery and the delivery was attempted but was unable to be delivered. I called today and the carrier put in that my package could not be delivered because if my dog. Guess what.....I do not own a dog!!!
Either you screwed the address up, which even then is wrong my neighbors do not have dogs, or you ARE a LIAR.
Additionally, my mail is not delivered until 6:45 pm each day.
