If you can avoid going to this post office AVOID IT!!! These people could win awards for unfriendly service. I had EXACTLY the same experience calling the post master. He is surprised -apparently he thinks it won't happen - and definitely always sounds resentful. Shrub Oak on the other hand is a joy to visit. They are friendly and helpful even if there are two lines all the way from doorway to counter. These people should be used to train all post office staff. It's like visiting a friendly comiunity centre full of friends because the vibe catches so people in there are nice and chat to each other. It's lovely. Mohegan Lake is the icebox of postal service. Aliens abducted them all and replaced their personalities with grumpy, unfriendly, uncaring ones. You are not a customer but an object in the way here.

The post master is a joke...I'm done with him...He tells me he's going to take care of it AND IT NEVER GET'S DONE!!! He's a moron! I've been dealing with this moron for the past few years of missing mail. He tells me I'll talk to him. Nothing has changed and I'm still missing mail...He's a loser.

They can't seem to track a package that seems to have gone from Yorktown to their post office. It has a printed sender's address and a return address. AND the postmaster acts as if he resents my request to look for it.

Visited Mohegan Lake Post Office on 12/12/12 to get a letter hand stamped and was treated very poorly.  The person behind the desk was very abrupt and short.  I usually go to the Shrub Oak PO because it's on my way to work, where everyone is always very nice and accommodating.  On 12/12, I was in the Mohegan PO area so decided to go there.  I can tell you that will not happen again.
