The carrier never closes the mailbox properly. There's a tap at the top. Just needs to hit it. I've had mail get wet or blows away. Also they don't take the mail in the box when the flag is up. I'm disabled and can't walk up the driveway so I have to drive up to the mail box. What is the problem?

The Route 6 Mahopac NY was wonderful 33 years ago, but it has deteriorated to the point where you don’t get mail and you have no idea where it may be OR you get someone else’s mail on a regular basis, OR you are notified that an attempt was made to deliver a package but the carrier could not get access to make the delivery, this on a beautiful snowless day within obstruction to the mailbox, the front door or the garage AND while you are home AND it happens many many times. This has forced me to stop mail order prescription medications for fear they will never get here or they will get here late leaving my health and perhaps life jeopardized because I need the medication that this pot office is not delivering to say nothing of other important time sensitive mail. This is more than use unacceptable and unconscionable!

The Mahopac Post Office is the worst I have ever seen. They steal anything of value that comes through.

I have always supported our us postal service even when people say they should shut down but I am so disappointed with Mahopac’s postal service. They left me a note saying they missed me (I was home and no one ever came to the door) and I needed to reschedule delivery. I went to the site the notice told me to and was then given the choice reschedule or pick it up. I chose to pick it up but when I went down to get it. They looked everywhere and finally said it was out for delivery. Why offer an option to pick it up if you are not going to let me pick it up. I have been home all day again and still no package. And now the PO is closed till Monday when I work all day! I am so angry! This is not the first time I have had problems with this Post office! They were not nice and acted as if I was wrong in thinking it was supposed to be there for pickup. I have the confirmation email saying it was ready! They never even let me show them that. As far as I am concerned they should close!

I’m a former USPS mail carrier. The mail system here is so awful and the management at the mahopac facility could careless about concerns. Our issues started around the holidays receiving half opened holiday cards and has only spiraled from there. We have had packages mis delivered, mail that has never arrived and mail trucks pulling and backing out of our driveway which as a former employee I know is against company policy and immediate termination. Is anything going to be corrected at this facility?

just had a priority mail dileverd today that was to large for the mail box that's on top of a hill , instead of dropping at my address they just left it on the side of the road where the community mail boxes are

I moved to USA last year and just opened an exotic fish business, a young lady Nadine has been delivering my Amazon packages the past few weeks and my family just loves her. I can't exactly say what it is because she doesn't stay long, but every time is so helpful and pleasant. My children shout from the kitchen veranda when she comes and Sunday packages have become a family bonding activity. We are happy to live in this town :)

Since November 2018 we have been having a problem getting mail and package deliveries. It seems that since the Post office started delivering most of Amazon packages, the delivery service has gone down hill. In November, 2 packages were scanned that said I was not home. Two minutes after they were scanned, I received the message and I was sitting at my kitchen table. The purposely lied so it would look like they attempted to deliver the package and make their package delivery stats look good. My son's business did not receive first class mail for a week, We called and they said we had nothing. After I complained, we received a weeks worth of mail. This happened twice. Other people I know were having the same problem. Just recently I was expecting 2 packages. I received a package that was my neighbors. One of my packages was delivered to my next door neighbor. The other package was delivered to a different road and not even the same house number. Yesterday my wife was expecting a package. It said delivered but we have no idea where it was delivered too. Today I was suppose to receive a package. I have no idea where it went. If you want something delivered, have it sent UPS.

I live at 27 Wood Street, mahopac, ny 10541 since 1997. since approximately January 2018 maybe earlier we have been having substantial issues with getting our mail delivered and picked up. Packages are being lost never arriving. I have been here 21 years and have never ever had an issue with the post office, but since our carrier retired, I believe in January we can’t seem to get things right. Most specifically yesterday I arranged for a pickup at my home and once again it was not picked up. Our mail comes very late in the day so there was nothing I could do about it. I run a small eBay business and have many packages that have been promised to people. So now I assumed the packages would have been picked up and left early in the morning to come home late Saturday to fine the packages still on my porch. Recently I had a return lost and mail has gone missing. It took a week for me To get an important check that was being mailed from white plains. If this carrier can’t do his job, they need to find someone that can. My business is suffering because of this carrier. I can’t even begin to tell you how many days we don’t even get any mail. I have called the post office numerous times and they have an excuse always. Please get this resolved or I will take this to the next level. I am losing customers because of this
