Well, thankfully a lot has changed since those awful reviews 3 years ago. If you go in today, you will be greeted with staff that are kind, and super helpful. They will explain things so customers can understand, and take the time with you that you need. The new postmaster has made a huge difference. The staff seem happy to have him there, and happy to help their customers.

Completely agree with Alex on this post office. These are the most rude employees I have ever encountered, and they could care less about helping you or doing their jobs. They have sent back packages of mine on numerous occasions for random reasons, regardless that it is addressed to me, they will return it to the sender rather than hold it for you, and it even seems that telling you they sent it back is the only time they ever take any joy in their jobs. They also are of zero help if you have a package that gets "lost", even when you have a tracking number. They told me I should try and contact the sender to find it, I told them the sender entrusted it to you, the USPS, you provide a tracking number, and now the package is untraceable, what good is the sender at this point??, yet that was the best info they could provide me. I can't believe this place is allowed to function like this. I have been here a year and a half, and it never ceases to amaze me how dysfunctional the Tonopah post office is. I guess this post office is all the locals here have ever known, so they don't know how bad it is because they have nothing to compare it against. I have lived all over the US, and have never seen such. If there is any USPS governing body out there, you really need to come down here and see this for yourselves, words cannot describe.

The Tonopah Post Office is not a very good post office. I dread every time I have to deal with them. I'm willing to go 25 miles away in order to get better service. They always yell at me, or sound angry with me, especially during the holidays. I understand we're all stressed especially those handling the presents. That is still no reason to be especially angry during holidays. No wishing Merry Christmas, or Happy Holidays. It's basically get your sh!t and get out. Not only that, it costs 50 dollars to have a PO Box there! I have NEVER had to pay that much for a box in ANY of the cities I've lived in. Since I don't get mail at my physical location, I have to have a Box, which is in another city unattached to my physical. Once in a while, someone tries to send something through USPS to my physical and it gets sent to the Tonopah Post Office. Whenever this happens, they always yell at me saying that I'm not supposed to do that. They should be fired and new employees should be hired that are better at customer service and actually enjoy their jobs.
