Rio Rancho Mail Service is the absolute worst. No one ever answers the phone. Putting mail on hold and then trying to get it delivered is sooooooo PAINFUL!!! I have been waiting for 3 days now to get my mail delivered. Going to the local post office is also just painful. Wait time on average is 30 minutes. If I say I will pick up my accumulated mail, I am told it's out for delivery. If I say deliver accumulated mail, it doesnt get delivered. Cant win!!!
My mail delivery service has stopped and I've tried to contact the post office but no one answers. I tried to get an answer though the web site . . .Yikes! forget that! I tried calling the local post office and the national post office but I didn't get any where with that either. I have some important mail that is past due and I really need it.
I have had missing packages that will say delivered in mailbox, but is not there. I also get other neighbors' packages instead so I deliver them. Most recently, I've had a bent parcel key left in my mailbox that doesn't open any of the parcel boxes so I can't retrieve my packages. I've left notes to the USPS delivery person in my mailbox asking if they can place in another parcel box with a key that works and I get no response or help. I'm NEVER one to complain because I know how busy and how understaffed USPS probably is, but, I get ZERO help or response. Never have I ever had such a difficult time getting my mail like I have in Rio Rancho.
I purchased a home and from March 1, 2022 through April 21, 2022 I drove to the USPS to pick up my mail, because, I just moved here and I had to wait to receive keys to my community mailbox. I never complained. Because I had a cell phone that had recently broke and I was in the process of selling my home in California, so I was travelling to the USPS to pick up my mail daily. The home I purchased was 11 miles away from the USPS so I was travelling 22 miles round trip to get my mail. On April 21 I was given keys in an envelope labeled Efron Morales, the owner of the home I had purchased. It was with instruction for Box #4. USPS tore up my "Hold Mail Form" because they gave me keys. The keys did not work. I was not able to get my mail. I had received email notice that my phone had arrived, but It was in my Community mail box, with my other mail, that the keys would not open. Due to my child arriving home from school on the bus, I was unable to travel the 22 miles round trip to go to the USPS. I called, no answer, and the phone would auto disconnect after ringing 25 times. I repeatedly called, until I decided to call the 800 USPS number and lodge the complaint. My mail, and phone were now in a box. yards from my home, and I could not get my mail, and USPS would not answer there phone. What would you have done?

On Wednesday I travelled to the USPS to hopefully retrieve my mail. I had left a note on my community mailbox to the Carrier that my key did not work. I was hoping that he would take my mail back to the USPS on Pinetree, in Rio Rancho. There was no mail on hold for me at the USPS. My mail was still being delivered to a box I was unable to gain access to. Now I drove 22 miles round trip for nothing. I requested to speak to the Manager Mr. Nestor. They told me her would be out shortly. After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes, and never seeing Mr. Nestor I left. This person screwed my mail up. I was happily receiving my mail daily by travelling to receive it. I never complained. Now they give me keys and cause a huge Problem in my life with everything I have going on. This USPS Manager IS SO BUSY TRYING TO KEEP HIS JOB HE FORGOT TO DO HIS JOB !!..He his not a good manager and should not be allowed to retain his Manager position. Prior to leaving I mentioned my disappointment at waiting, and I needed to leave due to a prior commitment, I told the postal worker Ashly, of this issue. 90 minutes later the Postal Worker Ashley showed up at my home with my mail, and gave me keys to my mailbox that worked. She told me she changed the lock, and had keys for every lock she had to change. If this was the case, why did the Manager Nestor tell me in March after I had been picking my mail up for 1 month, that he had to wait for a Postal worker from the City of Albuquerque to come to Rio Rancho to give me keys? NOW THE USPS MANAGER NESTOR IS ALSO A LIAR. There is a fine line between enjoying your authority and exercising responsibility, Nestor does not know the difference. a GOOD MANAGER DOES THE RIGHT THING WHEN NO ONE ELSE IS LOOKING. Nestor should not remain a manager. He does his job poorly, and probably complains he is worked too hard, in truth he is hardly working. Demote him and transfer him to where he can receive the proper training, and learn to be a good Manager.
Understanding that RRUSPS is understaffed and carriers must often have to hurry, that should not be an excuse for driving recklessly in their mail truck. Late yesterday the carrier literally careened into our driveway, scattering gravel and leaving deep ruts; after rushing to the gate to deliver a package she did a fast three point turn on the cement apron that left black tire marks all across. We are fortunate that our landscape lighting and patio wall narrowly escaped being hit. Rather than viewing this as a complaint however, I hope this incident can serve as more of a teachable moment.
I have been receiving some mail and not ALL my mail. The amount of time I had to call credit card companies for status on a NEW card or a specific check is ridiculous. They end up advising me that the mail was returned. I can't stress enough how horrible my experience has been with Nothern Meadows USPS mail delivery carriers. We need someone who is consistent and able to deliver. As much as I hate to do this but going forward I will have to approach the mail service when they deliver the mail so I can make sure I receive ALL my mail.
Let me count the ways I hate our mail service in Rio Rancho:
1. I live in a beautiful community with broken mailboxes that no one knows when or if they will ever fix
2. I don’t believe we really have a mailman/person just random vans and odd cars or people the post office hires for the day or week and gives them our mail
3. My mail routinely goes to the wrong address and I in turn get their mail and packages
4. Receiving Priority Mail is not a Priority! No one knows where it is. Must be in one of those vans
5. As a neighborhood we must all try to sort thru the mail and drive around the deliver to each other
6. I don’t remember my mailman’s name is Cabezon but he was amazing. A real mailman. Rang your doorbell and everything. Those were the days ☹️

Does anyone work there? Sent a package to the correct address. Followed delivery progress via tracking #. Out for delivery this morning. Now, it says it is being forwarded. Address is correct. Who knowas where it is going! Then they wonder why we want to privatize the mail service!
Dropped registration renewal letter to Santa Fe MVD in collection box outside Post Office on Pine Tree Road on 10 June. Called Santa Fe 20 Days later and they never received it. If this is how the Post Office Functions is no wonder they are going broke, they can't do their job
Holy cow....does anyone answer the phone? I have been calling all listed numbers for two days with absolutely no success. All I want to know is the regulations for installing a mailbox in Rio Rancho. It is no where on the postal site. I want to comply, but this is frustrating.
June 4, 2021, I’ve lost track how many times Manila envelopes mailed to me have been folded and shoved into my mail box, even though there are no other pieces of mail in the mail box but for the Manila envelope that could be delivered flat in the mail box. There is no need to fold the envelope damaging precious photographs and documents. Tonight I wrote a note on the back of the crumpled, folded up envelope, “Stop folding my mail. Put it in my box flat!!” And placed it in the outgoing mail. There is no need to fold up envelopes that can be delivered flat. For the most part, mail service is fine, but If the mail carrier is that frustrated with their job, they need to quit. There are lots of other places hiring!
My package was left in a cul de sac locker with a broken lock...in other words...my package was left for anyone to have access to.
Once the carrier saw the lock was broken he/she couldn’t be bothered to just go 50ft and leave it on my porch?
Fortunately it wasn’t life-saving medication or gold bullion, but still.
And can we please get better-designed community mailboxes that aren’t built like pizza ovens.
Prescription drugs and food of any kind routinely gets ruined by these stainless steel hot plates.
How about at least painting the tops white...that or install a solar panel with a vent fan attached.
We've had very important documents sent back to sender because they were placed in the wrong box. Now we have my medication missing. It says it was delivered and placed in box but surprise surprise, it's not there.
I'm starting to notice a trend here. It's really sad when so many people complain about the same issue and nothing is being done.
We put in a change of address before we moved out of our old house.. Went by there yesterday and found the mailbox full of our mail. Why is our mail not being forwarded to our new address?? We got the notices that confirmed the address change.. I just don't understand how the post office isn't doing the correct job but want more money..
I get delivery notification daily. So I know what should be in my mailbox, it shows it should be there. But gets returned to sender. This is an on going issue and the Rio Rancho post master does not find anything wrong with that
I sent an envelope 4 1/8"x9 1/2" out of state that weight only .85 oz. the envelope was just under 1/8" thick. Was sent back to my address stamped that I needed to put .15 cents of postage. I was furious at this employee not even weighing my envelope. and delaying the delivery for the holiday. I had a forever stamp on my envelope. I added a .21 cent stamp to make sure this got delivered. Was the post office trying to cheat me? they need to do a better job in handling mail correctly.
My cluster mail box on Whitney rd se has been out of order since 10-27-20 when will it get repaired of replaced. It is the only old box in the neighborhood. It has been vandalized a few times lately. thank you
I've had 2 packages say they are delivered and not there at all. I called the post office 2 days later and was told they would call me back. I have called every day for a week with no answer. I called again today and no answer. I still have not received either package that says delivered. UGH
Why don't you answer your Phone. I have a cousin that lives at 2505 Vista Manzano LP NE that needs a lock changed in his NDCBU. Someone broke in to his compartment and the carrier said to call the Manager. No one answers your phone.
The service in northern meadows is horrible. I have to call 3-4 times a year because packages are put in the wrong mailbox! I had to call again today because a amazon package says delivered but it’s not in my mailbox. I also received someone else’s certified letter in my mailbox today. Sad To think someone paid extra money to have that letter sent by certified mail.
Had two packages delivered yesterday; however, the key left in my mailbox doesn't open the larger storage area where boxes are dropped off. Then the key snaps off in the lock, nobody answers the phone, I just want my packages.
I just received notification that the Rio Rancho Post Office tried to deliver some packages this morning at 8:06 and the very next status update is also at 8:06 this morning stating that the package was returned to the Post Office awaiting pick up at the request of the customer. I never requested it be held and I have been here all day. No one has been here to try delivery. I even checked our security cameras and ring video. Nothing, nadda!!! And to put the icing on the cake, no one answers their phone!!! So I can't even tell them they are full of crap on both accounts and tell them to deliver my packages.
I have another package trapped in the parcel box. Key does not work. Why is it when the postal person delivers my mail and see that I have retrieved my mail but left the key in the box they do not understand that I can not open the box? It literally took weeks to get my package out of the box with three emails to USPS before it was finally placed on my porch. I hate answering customer service surveys but I answered the first two surveys with the fact that they did not address my problem. Third email to them was the charm but why should it take more than one?
I was just in the Post Office on Pinetree to get my mail while waiting for a box to be assigned to me by the post office and the teller "claimed she had just given me my mail this morning. She went so far as to get her boss to come out and make the same claim. I have not been out of my house for 2 days and I drove directly to the post office. This was approximately 12:30 on Mar. 19, 2020. They would not even check their videos but stand there calling me a lier. I still don't have any idea if they have given my important mail to some one else or they are too damn lazy to do their job correctly. I do need to know if some one is fraudulently receiving my mail.
I would like to say that Rio Rancho Post Office has been mis delivering my mail for over 13 years. I constantly receive other mail & others getting my mail. I've had missing mail that has not been recovered. I have contacted management over again. I believe they are either not training their employees right or the employees cannot read. They don't pay attention to the name & address before they put them into the box.
After twenty minutes of struggling with the key to retrieve my package, I finally gave up. I always have to struggle with these keys, but this time, I just gave up. On a few occasions, I ended up cutting my hand trying to get the box open. My package is important to me and I'd really like to get the item I PAID FOR AND PAID SHIPPING FOR. Fix the key!
I would like to know WHY our Postal Person does not DELIVER OUR MAIL AND PACKAGES? I understand when there No access to our Mail Box! We have NOT gotten our mail for 4 DAYS! For the past 2 package I been waiting on have not been delivered to my address. They say they are delivered but not at my address. This is really getting out of hand. I would like this fix and hope my neighbor or someone will bring my package to me.

My mom ordered a package for me but accidentally sent it to the old address (we just moved like 2 miles away). They forwarded the package to this address and told me that I owed $11.54 for shipping because my mom forgot to pay the return postage for the item. I paid the fee thinking she was returning the item. But no! That was my gift that the Post Office was returning. They forwarded it to our new address just to ask for the return postage and wouldn't let me keep it!!! Like seriously!! This was all so confusing and now I have to wait for the company to resend my gift (thankfully we didn't have to pay shipping again).

For the past year I have spoken to the mail person (12 times) about delivering the mail properly and she has ignored me and my neighbors. Consistently I get my neighbors mail and they get mine. I now have a notice from my bank and a charge for returned mail since 7/31/18. She races through the neighborhood, at inappropriate speeds. Fire the person and replace them. She obviously doesn’t care about our safety, security or their job. Has she been drug tested and do you have proof?
Will contact the police next time I see her driving.

Absolutely TERRIBLE service! I try calling the local number for 3hrs... no answer. My wife then drives to the post office where our package is and they make her wait for a half hour. Then they attempt to go get the package for her— only to come back and say that now they can’t, “It’s on the truck”.
It wasn’t on the truck when I started calling or when my wife decided to drive there...
While my wife was there, the truck still hadn’t left yet.
When asked it they can grab it off the truck; they rudely refuse!
It’s an envelope with a tracking number.
What has happened to customer service around here?
What does it take for management to manage their subordinates,(ie the postal drivers), I've been to the Rio Rancho facility more times than I can count about my mail not being picked up, about the postal carrier speeding down the street, about the same carrier running the stop sign and we're not talking about a California stop we're talking about speeding through the stop sign. I have even spoken to your carrier about how the stop signs in our neighborhood are not optional. Again what does it take? Do I need to start calling RRPD, you tell me!!!

I went to the postal service office in Pinetree 2 weeks ago to get a new mailbox for my new house, and I haven't gotten any phone call from them to when to pick up my key and I was told it would only take 5 days to process. My mail carrier has an issue with closing my mailbox. She told me it takes to much effort to close mailboxes. If she cannot close a simple mailbox that has a magnet... than why is she working for the post office? Seems like this would be an elementary task to me.
I approached her after watching her just put the mail in the box- leaving the door open without even attempting to close the door.
I stopped her and asked why? She was both rude and insulting.
I have a large mail box. It can hold my mail for at least 3 days if I choose. I will be contacting USPS Consumer Affairs in an effort to resolve this ongoing problem..
We've had problems with one of our carriers out of this Rio Rancho office, delaying our mail and harassing/retaliating, due to filing a complaint about him with the OIG. Calling these local numbers get you no where, if they even answer. Sometimes they answer and hangup. Delaying your mail is a crime. I made a complaint over the phone about a month ago regarding my mail carrier. The only thing is when I call I have to wait for an hour before I talk to someone so thought I'd try this way. My mail carrier has an issue with closing mail boxes. She must think it takes too much effort to close them. As I was leaving I counted more than 15 mail boxes that she left open. What's the deal with her?
Mail carrier is a rude kid that delivers my mail to other people. Ive complained to supervisors and nothing has happened to resolve it. They never answer their phone either! Now they put new mailboxes but failed to notify anyone, and failed to deliver keys and assign new compartments... so now i get no mail... not even someone elses.
Checks were supposed to be delivered via postal service on Friday. It was not. With Veterans Day on Saturday we did not receive them Saturday. It is now Monday and late in the day, we still have not seen our USPS carrier. I call and no one answers. Totally unprofessional and other people depend on this service.
When mail gets delivered to fire ravaged streets in California house by house, but the carriers here in Rio Rancho cannot simply deliver to the right community box. Its a shame to call them USPS Mail, they don't even wear the uniform are they contractors???
Over the years, when we go on vacation or away, we always put mail on hold. We also indicate to DELIVER mail on a specific date once we have returned.
NEVER ONCE in the last dozen or so times has our mail been delivered as requested. One day, then 2nd day, sometimes a 3rd day...we have to go pick it up. So then, what is the point of requesting accumulated mail to be delivered?

Our mail service in Loma Colorado in Rio Rancho NM has gone hill big time in the last years and getting worst. They need more help or something. We used to get mail by 3:30 now it is 6:30. Cannot get in contact with any one because they never answer the phone.
