Last week I was expecting delivery of a replacement cell phone. The e-mail I received informed that it had been delivered on Wednesday afternoon to my mailbox. This proved to be wrong, mainly because the box was too large to fit in it. On Friday I went to the post office in person. Their information also stated that it had been delivered, but I told them this was not so. The person behind the desk was very apologetic, informing me that since she was there by herself she could not go and see if it was still there. However, she told me she would talk to my carrier on Saturday and call me to advise me of the status. Instead, after the post office closed, she went looking for it, found it and brought to my front door that day! To me, this was above and beyond what she needed to do and I called her on Saturday to thank her. I have never had a problem with any of the employees at the Watertown PO, but to me she went over and above what she was required to do. Thank you, again!

this post office sucks. i have a po box because the post offices refuses to deliver to my street because i live so close. I have had a po box for 10 years and suddenly the post office gave somebody my box. I continue to get someone elses mail and now I would guess that person has a key for my box.I have also had my state ID sent back because the post office couldn't figure it out. I now have to get another ID at my expense.today i was in the post office and there was a woman in there and she had told the person behind the counter that she was gone to take care of her sick sister. the woman behind the counter charged her $46 dollars to get her mail from a lock box.I want someone who knows what is going on working in this post office.

Jessica is right! We've been here for 25 years and we've all been harassed in the manner she describes. As a former USPS employee, I know that what this person keeps nagging us about, in such an utterly rude manner, is something that she is supposed to know ANYWAY! Get help, rude person. It should be obvious by now your power trip isn't helping anyone, YOU included!

I've been coming to this post office ever since I was a little girl, and during most recent months of having a postal box here (been renewing for about 2 years now), the workers and customer service have been just terrible. Not to mention, numerous times I come to find my packages damaged when I pickup in the postal boxes. I honestly DREAD whenever I see a yellow slip in my box for pickup at the desk because of all my bad experience with the front desk workers here. They are slow to service us and are generally rude.Very recently there is a new middle-aged woman with short brown hair working here who is just the worst. She idles in the back chatting with coworkers for almost 10 minutes before responding to the bell (I see and hear her) and when she does arrive, she complains that my PO Box number is not listed on my box when it CLEARLY IS -- it's the only thing listed between my name and city, and then claims it takes her HOURS to find out whose package it is. Also, she obviously does not realize that oftentimes shipping companies (like Amazon) only deliver to street addresses even if you list the PO Box and sometimes they only ship if you do NOT list a PO Box. She also gave me the same speech for a recent package on which I could only indicate my street address. In that case, she is NOT doing her job right because she isn't checking the forwards database that shows which PO Box it corresponds to. This will be a part of her job and she cannot harass postal boxholders in hopes that we "do as she says" to try and make her job easier! All this said, she apparently has had very little customer service and postal experience in the past, and she even mentioned to my sister (who shares the PO box with me) that she is in charge of hiring new employees. She is not well-equipped for the job NOR hiring new employees especially when she can't even do her job right in the first place. Overall she is always rude (and notably lazy) every time my sister and I have to pick up packages from her. I hope they hire someone more capable and customer friendly to take her place.
