Tried to forward mail from our home in a small Village in Michigan to Daytona Beach Shores in Florida for the winter but the Michigan post office didn’t follow the new procedure for changing an address. We were not asked for ID or to have our identity verified at the Michigan post office. Therefore, absolutely NONE of our mail is being forwarded to us in Florida (>3 weeks of mail). It’s being held because the office is so small that it doesn’t even HAVE a way to scan an ID into the USPS system. WHAT A JOKE!! We called the Michigan Village post office on 11/24/23 (our mail SHOULD HAVE been stopped and rerouted to Florida on 11/10/23, but is sitting in the post office, just accumulating.
