the worst service i have ever seen they do not deliver my packages when they say will they use the excuse they attempted to but were unable to no reason given. they used this excuse both saterday and monday i went to the south berwick post office mon .afternoon to pyck up my packages and was told the ywere not there after informing me i would hthem up there ave to pick them up there
them up there
Apparently they just don’t deliver when they feel like it!!! Had an express package coming,2day service, said it was being delivered and left and behold they must have missed the driveway because they said it was undeliverable!! So much for wind rain sleet and snow. Looks like if you just don’t feel like doing your job that’s good enough.
This office is nothing but ineptitude and failure. They have messed up my mail so many times that I resorted to getting a PO Box @ $100. Today they tell me that PO Box was not set up correctly and all my mail was sent back. This is after spending weeks working with the postmaster directly!! I am going to open up cases with every organization I can think of starting with USPS national and on down though the BBB and the Maine attorney general, senators, etc. Now, I know its the USPS and no one in that organization gives a shit and their jobs are probably protected by some government "don't care" attitude also. We are about to find out. Did I mention I went to high school with a reporter from the local newspaper? yep, them too...

This is a horrible post office. Amazon is a great service as long as you don't live in Berwick and have south berwick as your delivery service or should I say non-delivery service. NEVER even once have they ever made an attempt to deliver a package to my residence. Although I get at least 2 slips a week in my mailbox stating they tried. Knowing they are not going to deliver any packages to my residence they still load my packages on there trucks and drive around with them leave me an attempted delivery notice stating I can't pick my package up till the following day because it is in the truck not the post office till 9am the following day. Worst post office I have ever had to deal with.
Probably one of the worst post offices I have ever (not) received mail from. I can't count how many times they've slipped a paper in my mail box for something that required a signature saying they missed me and I'd have to go to the post office when I was home all day. Someone is always at my house and not once when I've had mail requiring a signature have they ever attempted to deliver it. I have a covered farmer's porch and despite having it, they've left my packages out in the rain in front of my garage door rather than walking to the porch like UPS or FedEx does no matter the weather. Recently, they've said they couldn't turn around near my mailbox to deliver my mail because of the ice, so they've just stopped delivering (and didn't tell the town so they could salt). Well, the ice has cleared up and apparently I am no longer worthy to receive my mail ever again. This location is the worst, hands down.
Horrible post office, if you're a berwick resident from anything from 20+ years they don't care, they won't deliver your packages just because they don't feel like. They laugh every time I yell at them for sending a package back and they tell me "don't order so much". Reported to inspector general and talked to the regional as well, hopefully these postmasters get fired.
The South Berwick Postmaster went above and beyond to find a missing package for us. It was amazing that he took the information and didn't stop until it was located!! Thank you so much Steve!!
I deliberately leave my home town of South Berwick to do my USPS service at the Dover, NH or Eliot, ME locations. In the 4 times I've been to the South Berwick location I've had less than polite experiences. I waited 20 minutes behind one customer who had to weigh several boxes and bicker over rates while 2 other employees chatted behind the counter out of sight. The person at the counter didn't acknowledge me or even say "we'll be with you momentarily", nothing. No manners. My husband went in a couple weeks ago, 20 minutes before close. Again, trapped in line. At 4:25 another customer walked in the door, to which the postal worker hollered "WE ARE CLOSING!" Rude. Today, one came out made eye contact with my husband, continued chatting with his coworker, then eventually spoke to my husband who just popped in to ask about a passport package. Despite the website saying they offer this service, they said they don't. THIS is why people don't want to deal with USPS. Thank god I have 2 WONDERFUL offices nearby, who are friendly and appreciative of my business. There's a reason South Berwick isn't a 5-star location. I suggest employing people who actually want to do their job, rather than these schlubs.
