I believe new law allows to renew Passports without a local appointment. New picture may be a little tricky though, so perhaps local post office would be better for that (best with an appointment probably and they'll snap you a great photo). Post Office employees work hard. We appreciate their service. If you're nice & polite, they'll do evrything they can for you. If you wish to be impolite to a Post Office employee, well... please don't, when I'm in line.

This post office is a joke! I’ve lived where Im currently at for over a year and after calling and calling and writing on the mail over and over, I’m STILL getting peoples mail that doesn’t live here and hasn’t for at least a year! The PostMaster and assistant are pretty much worthless when it comes to helping the customer. It took 3 months for them to fix my mailbox that their mailman “nerd raged” on and broke the flag and the excuse was they had to find one that fit… Home Depot sells them which is right here in town too. But my main issue with these people are they treat you as if you are dumb and then wonder why you are so much more mad or why you are talking the way you are, well maybe do your job and you won’t have that issue! I had less issues in 6+ years in Surry, then I’ve had here in 1 year! There’s a bunch of incompetent people that don’t deserve jobs here and that starts with the top if they can’t get their stuff figured out down there. I don’t understand what’s so hard about not putting mail in a mailbox that doesn’t belong there when I’ve told you that several times and wrote on mail for a year and you still don’t comprehend it for some reason. You must have all rode the short bus that work here (must be a qualification or something). Bunch of imbeciles.

I entered the Ellsworth PO a little before noon today 12/24/20. A postal employee, a 30-ish old man with dark hair, emerged from the back wearing his mask as a sort of beard protector. I asked him if he knew that his mask wasn't in position. He said, "Yes, thank you." I told him that, as worn, it wasn't providing protection and that this is how COVID is spread. He said, "I don't buy that, but thank you." He doesn't have to "buy it', but it is Maine state law. He can go maskless in his own home. However, in the PO, he is a government employee and he is exposing the public to unnecessary risk.
