Bath postal service has improved in the last year or two for requests for special cancels for BIW Shipbuilding events. The cancels document major shipbuilding events and are Naval history for collectors and students as the mail is considered a primary research document.

When I am mailing an envelope, I put it out in my mailbox with the red flag up. Despite that, it is often two to three days before it is picked up. It is my understanding that, if the flag is up, the carrier is supposed to stop. This is a source of frustration and has occasionally caused problems.

Just got notice of a failed delivery on Memorial Day, accusing some blockage preventing delivery. No attempt was made. The PO is closed, so I don't see how the attempt was made without delivery personnel. There is NO "blockage" to my apartment except a slight incline in the driveway. This was a "Monday delivery" through Amazon and now I won't get the item for at least another day: one day too late for it use.

I have a sign on my front door asking that packages be left inside my sun porch. Today a package was left outside my door and placed in a pool of water. This is why I have the sign! Contents of the package was a book. Luckily a friend came by and placed it in our sun porch. Not very happy!

Scheduled a pickup at 7 pm 1/1/21 for pickup on 1/2/21. Mai carrier drives by and doesn’t stop for items. Not the first time.

The person who posted before me must feel horrible with that giant stick up their butt. However, in regards to Bath postal service being the worst in the United States, I'm guessing they haven't traveled far. In reality, Bath postal service is adequate. Nothing incredible, but certainly not incompetent at doing their jobs. 80% of the time, for me and several people I know, they get it right.

That's your experience. Don't discredit someone's experience because you don't share it.

bath maine is absolutely the worst post office in all 50 states of these united. unbelievable! if you want mail delivered, have it delivered by some other service. bath maine post office can't even do their basic fundamental job of simply delivering mail 4 blocks from the damned post office itself! proud-without-cause, incompetent, worthless public employees!
