This morning a mail carrier was delivering a package across the street. My dog unexpectedly ran across the street, not barking not growling just ran. I was right behind her too. This man screams I’m going to kick your f!&):;! ng dog. Mind you my 7 yr old daughter was with me. I’ve never seen a more miserable unfriendly mail person since he’s come. And we’ve lived in Destrehan over 40 years.

I have lived in Destrehan for the past 40+ years and this post office has had issues for the past decade. The latest issue we have had is waiting on an important 2-day mail delivery from UPS. Apparently, the post office works with them and I have all of my mail deliveries sent to my e-mail. The parcel was dated 08/20 and the tracking number said it was to be delivered 08/22 by 8:00 p.m. When it didn't arrive I went to the Destrehan Post Office to see where it was. I was told that they had it on camera the mail carrier putting it in the mailbox on 08/22. The company who sent it said it was recorded as delivered ON 08/22. On 08/27, five days later, it shows up on my doorstep. The label has the date of arriving as 08/27. This was 2-day airmail and the post office employees told me that they had it on camera that the mail carrier put it in my mailbox. That was a flat out lie because it wouldn't have fit in the mailbox and that is why it was at my doorstep. The parcel clearly shows leaving at 08/20 and the postal employees claim they have it in camera as being delivered in the mailbox 08/22 yet it shows up at my doorstep on 08/27 with a fresh new label. I now know for a fact that these employees are not honest and I have no idea what they were doing with my mail during those five days. Someone needs to look into this post office and either revamp with new honest employees or completely shut them down.

I was waiting patiently for a package to come in. Just because my car wasn't visible, the mail person left a card for me to retrieve the package at the post office. I was home! No one rang my doorbell. So I get the card & go to the post office, just for the clerk to say I have to wait to get the package the next day or day after. The clerks attitude is rude. She is way too comfortable in her position. Get off the phone already! People are waiting!

My husband had a few issues with mailing packages and delivery service. When he called to complain they asked him why doesn't he just go to the post office in St. Rose? Really? How does that help our delivery issues? Why should I change where I do business when they can just hire competent people. Now I do use another post office when I have to go into one but our delivery issues will never be resolved due to poor management.

So the postal clerk that works Saturday's at the Destrehan Post Office is one of the rudest, unprofessional human beings I have ever met. She is abusive to customers, stops business when there is a line to be rude and inappropriate to customers trying to help one another out. When I asked for her supervisors
Name and number she was so incredible verbally abusive abs rude she made impossible for me to mail my package. She "had" and "insisted" on trying to tell me her side ......, I told her she was paid by my taxes and postal fees and I didn't have to listen to her after how she had treated me and another customer. She refused weigh my package and tell me the fee so I could mail my package. I repeatedly interrupted her and said I don't have to listen to you treat me this way, you just need to tell my how much this item is to mail and let me pay. I ended up walking out with my package and she ended up making 3 additional customers wait and feel uncomfortable. Then man thanked me as I left....What a nasty woman. I'm surprised more customers of this office aren't the ones who go postal! She's need to be sent to customer service class and she doesn't deserve a job I the government sector. She should know what it feels like to be treated with such disrespect.
