Inconsistent mail pickup if you are a small business. Do not trust them to pick up your mail, even if you fill out the paperwork. Most of the temporary workers are not educated to know what to do. If you live on a smaller route you won't receive mail somedays at all. Even though they state they stay open to call until 5 phones are turned off at 4. Regular mail men do there jobs there is no training for new employee's.

The Paducah, KY Postmaster has left letters demanding we move our mailbox within a few inches of the road for several weeks. I called the local post office and left messages to call me back which never happened. Finally, I got to talk to a lady in the local post office on the phone and was promised a call back from Postmaster Todd Hawks which we never received.
I reported this to USPS through the website and received a call from an employee in the Louisville, KY District office. He listened to my concerns and talked with Postmaster Todd Hawks and promised that Mr. Hawks would call us. He has never called.
Now, as of 2-10-22, our mail delivery has been stopped. AND, when my wife went to the Paducah Post Office Annex to pickup our mail, she was not allowed to pick up the mail, including oversized packages from Amazon that would not have even fit in our mailbox. Is this legal for them to hold our mail hostage?
I am frustrated and upset that our mail is being held and that I have never been able to explain my concerns to Mr. Hawk, since he has refused to call me. Here are the reasons I think we need to be given an exception to the regulations of how close the mailbox should be from the road.
1. I think moving the mailboxes is putting our mail carrier and all 3 families in extreme danger of being hit or killed by a moving vehicle.
2. We live on a county highway with a speed limit of 45 mph and many go much faster. We are also right after the crest of a hill, so a vehicle cannot see a stopped delivery vehicle until they go over the hill making an accident probable.
3. We share a driveway and mailbox stand with 2 neighbors so we have 3 mailboxes together that take longer to fill.
4. We have a gravel pull-off where the mail carrier can get almost completely off the road and away from potential collisions.
5. Our mailboxes have been in this location for over 50 years without incident.
A blanket policy with “no exceptions” for cases like these is dangerous for mail carriers and residents. I would have appreciated a discussion with Mr. Hawks but he has only sent unprofessional and threatening form letters and not responded to any of our attempts to contact him.
We will comply without being heard if not given any other recourse, but are extremely displeased with the unprofessionalism and would like to report this to any and all authorities who can take appropriate action. I would also like to know if they can legally hold our mail even when we go to the post office to pick it up.

Our mail delivery absolutely sucks. We may receive mail once a week, we have received bill AFTER their due date, and there has been NUMEROUS times where we did NOT receive our mail at all. Also, the mailmen/women rarely pick up our mail that we are trying to send. I was outside today mowing our yard, I have 2 letters that need to be sent and they are clipped to our box. The mailman went to all our neighbors house, but not ours. Then went to the end of the street to sit for a bit, then drove by our house without even checking to see if there was any out going mail. This is absolutely ridiculous, we haven't even received our local mail from the courthouse, now we have expired tags that we knew nothing about because we never received our bill from the courthouse.
Love the post office and the mail carriers are beyond expectations!!!!! They work 40+ hours a week and make sure every last package gets delivered to the people in a timely manner!! Great service that the postal service provides and hard working carriers and clerks that don’t get the respect they deserve!
My regular mailman is on vacation the temporary mailman did not pick up my scheduled pick up today 6/29 Monday. He was told to and a card was left in his truck to remind him. I also have a big poster board on my porch. He delivered the mail saw the packages then left. I have packages everyday. I know you are short handed but, there is no excuse in him not bringing his truck to the location 166 Woodward Street Paducah ky 42003
