Postal worker just HIT our mailbox with the delivery vehicle and broke it, then had the audacity to try and just "set it" back on the stand without letting us know. Given every other issue we've had with our postal workers withholding mail, saying they "missed us" when we were home all day, and the lack of resolution from those incidents, I don't don't know that calling is worth my time.
The rural delivery person for the Wamego post office that delivers to St. George, Louisville Road area is a liar and a lazy individual who has repeatedly lied about animal interference because she is too lazy to get out of her vehicle to deliver packages to our farm. She claims that the miniature dachshund and mixed breed dog are "interfering with delivery" when EVERY OTHER DELIVERY PERSON (UPS, FEDEX) can seem to deliver their daily packages without issues. Today she lied and said that the animals interfered with her "attempted" delivery, when they were inside the barn over 100 yards away from her. She never even drove down the driveway, simply threw the mail in the box and drove off. Multiple complaints to the postmaster have gotten no where, as they refuse to listen. If there was an option not to get our mail delivered by this lazy, lying individual, it would certainly be taken.
We have dog food delivered to our house from amazon twice a month! Never has it ever been an issue for them to deliver and leave in on the porch. The most recent delivery I got a notice that the "attempted delivery failed". I had to drive to the Wamego post office and pick it up. I had two 50lb bags of dog food in more larger boxes, mind you I am a smaller woman so carrying those to my car and loading them was very difficult, not once did they offer to help me or give me any assistance at all.
Their reason for not delivering it was "animal out". Mind you, when I found out it was not delivered that day, I called my husband to have him run home and make sure our dogs were still kenneled. They were, therefor the post office was just lazy and didn't want to drop our order off.
Its very frustrating, and inconvenient. If I wanted to have to pick my dog food up I would just buy it from the store, but for my convenience and for my families, we have it delivered. When the post office cant do their jobs, it makes it a little bit harder!
I recently lost a package I called my post office and there were of NO help. I called the Wamego Post office got a hold of a lovely women I believe her name is Shirley and she tracked the package down and had the package sent back to Wamego and notified my nephew that it was in their post office. This packaged contained 2 flags flown at sea for their fathers burial a 20 year Navy Veteran along with photos of the service, the location of the ashes and a heartfelt letter from the Captain on what an honor it was to do this service for one of their own. IT IS IRREPLACEABLE this women went above and beyond I cannot say thank you enough or tell her how grateful I am for her dedication and service.
Deliveries will be left in the middle of the driveway (left in the direct sun, rain, etc) Othertimes, I just get the slip in the mailbox saying “sorry we missed you.” I work from home and am here literally during ALL their delivery hours. Laziest attempts I’ve ever seen.
HORRIBLE service. Carriers smash and damage mail on the regular, refuse to try for signatures on priority mail (just claim nobody is home), drive like the law doesn't apply to them, and are flat rude. The office is no better and has horrible hours (better hope you don't work 9-5 because there is no getting to the PO during hours of operation.)
