As luck would have it, a relative gave me the correct mailing address but the wrong zip code for Yorktown, In. I sent a personal letter via priority mail and tracked it to the USPS office in New Castle, IN. I tried to submit an inquiry on-line but for whatever reason after several attempts the USPS system would not accept my service request on a missing letter. I called the New Castle post office on a Saturday morning and was lucky enough to reach the "very helpful and kind", MS Windy. She checked and found that the mail carrier (Ms Tara), had noticed the mistake and had already put it in another envelope with the correct address/zip and sent it on its way to Yorktown, IN. In this world full of complaints, I want to thank these two ladies for their dedication to their job. I have a feeling the management and the entire team at New Castle, IN USPS take pride in their work and strive to be helpful and kind in their mission to move our letters and packages. signed "Cathy Cloyd, Smiling in Louisiana"
TERRIBLE SERVICE. Sent pkg to family member. Wasn't delivered because there was one car in a 2 car driveway! After 4 days picked up the darn pkg. Lazy, irresponsible.
I don't know why I am even wasting my time other than to vent. Once again I have attempted to place mail in my mail box only to have ity ignored. I went through this not too long ago and ended up calling Indianapolis after I was told by post office in New Castle that it is a courtesy to pick up mail from our mail box. After I got hold of someone in Indianapolis they called New Castle and promptly explained to them it is not a "courtesy" it is their job. Never had trouble till today and I called New Castle and have been on hold now for 20 minutes while they check to see why mail did not run here or if once again they did not extend me a "courtesy" will probably have to call the Indianapolis Post Master again. Sigh
Very frustrated!!!!!! Called the 800 number and a recording said wait time was between 31 and 43 minutes. I waited through all of that and decided to look up the office in New Castle, Indiana for a local number to call. Using my desk phone to call the local number I was surprised that a very nice lady answered the phone before the second ring. I let my cell phone continue to be on hold through that call and someone finally answered at the 800 number after 63 minutes. Needless to say this is very poor service and shows improvement is needed if the customer support line takes and hour just to get to speak to someone.
I ordered a package online and chose 1-3 day shipping with new castle postal service as the delivery service well day 3 came around(7/6/17) and I received an email saying my package had been delivered so i go check my mail to find nothing there so I called the post office and left my info and was told a supervisor would call me back today (7/7/17) Well I wake up at 11am this morning with no missed calls so I called the post office to speak with the supervisor and what a surprise she wasn't in. Feels like they don't care that THEY lost my package. First time I've ever chose them to deliver a package and needless to say ill be sticking with UPS from now on. Still waiting on the call also since someone owes me money and or my package. Seems a bit ridiculous and yes I'm very agrivated about this. Im expected to do my job correctly everyday why does the post office get to ignore problems they created
