Just wanna post that Allen/allan is a great and kind post office worker, he's been a great help to me sending packages and answers any questions kindly.


I had a left item shipped from Ennis, The Old Ground Hotel to Cabra Castle. It arrived in the distribution center in Knightstown in two days but it is now almost three weeks later and it has still not been delivered and now I am back in the US. I have submitted two forms and an email and I still have not been able to get any answers.


We are new to Knightstown and have been here for several days and have not received any mail. (We had contacted our former post office to forward our mail after our moving dat of 10/31/18 and were told that was all we had to do. Today when we had never received any mail yet (11-7-18) my husband was told by the employee that our mail would not be delivered until we installed a mailbox on a post out by our street. There isn’t another person between our house and the post office that has a mailbox on a post out by the street. We had a check that the post office was holding that was written on the ebvelope 11/7-hold for mounted box on street. If we had not went to check why we weren’t getting mail we would never have known it was there! No way to treat new residents!


We have terrible service including packages delivered to the wrong address, passport delivered to the wrong address, a missing retirement check, and my new medicare card has never been delivered. Today we got a package at our porch and in our mailbox that doesn't belong to us!


I have lived in Charlottesville since 1999 and NEVER had a problem with our mail delivery or pick-up. Since Knightstown Post Office has taken over our area, I had received my neighbors' mail over a dozen times. In the past 3 months that finally stopped. In addition, I have not trusted Knightstown location with my outgoing mail...until March 24, 2017. There are four checks that were not delivered after I placed them in the outside blue drop box for mail, one of which was for Ninestar Connect (our electric). That day, I was going to Albany to see family and was going right by that post office anyway, so I took a chance. NEVER AGAIN! I have no choice of who delivers my mail, but I sure will NOT use this post office for anything that I need to send out. My husband even said something like, it shouldn't be that big of deal. It seems like they've been doing a lot better. This is very disappointing and embarrassing for me, because I've never been late paying anything...until now, so thanks. I even have to pay interest on a credit card, because it's ALWAYS paid in full each month...until now, so thanks for that too. I hope something is done about the work ethic and attention to detail at this location, because the lack of is ridiculous.
