I feel that the USPS customers in the Lamplighter are being treated like second class citizens judging from the service rendered to them by USPS, if you can call it services. The community mail boxes are not big enough with openings of only 2 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches. Letters, books, packages are jammed into the boxes. Three 8 1/2 x 11 inch books delivered in my box have been ruined. Many packages have to be pried out. Today, a package with medication, three plastic bottles were jammed in so tightly that while extricating them, the packaging tore open. I have photos if needed to show this mess. I know it might take extra time to go to a customer's house--but isn't that what postal carriers do in neighborhoods--go house to house? I also know that our previous postal carrier did just that with packages that couldn't be accommodated in the boxes. I'm not the only customer here at Lamplighter experiencing this problem. If it's too much to ask for packages to be delivered to homes, why not put a special large lock box for packages and leave the key in the receiving customer's box? There must be a solution for this problem. I am notifying every shipper, including Amazon NOT to ship anything to me via USPS. Janet M. Rogerson

I’ve been resident in Oort Orange since 2007 and my experience with USPS staff and management throughout that period is that they are a balanced ,committed and well directed team of professionals from the route delivery drivers to the 32128 facility team on Dunlawton. They are service oriented, polite and accommodating and take the extra effort to be helpful and supportive even when clients turn hostile and abusive. As a community we should take legitimate pride in the good things that work well in our community. Sometimes we let the negatives drown out the supportive voices among us and I know that I speak for many of my neighbors and friends in this community when I say well done USPS team 32128 keep up the exceptional good work and spirit of service and dedication. It is recognized and genuinely appreciated.

My Port Orange Letter Carrier got out of her truck to check that my package was delivered. I couldn't find the package at 1st, but then I did find it behind one of my cement ornaments at the door. I am very thankful to the Letter Carrier because she was so conscientious.

I am not happy with substitute mail carriers. They are not trained properly to deliver mail on these routes. They do not pay attention to the streets and apts as some apts are numbers and some letters, like 1,2,3 or A,B,C. I do not like to receive mail from some other streets. If I wanted to deliver mail. I would apply for a job to do so. They also drive around and around trying to figure out where they are. Sometimes I have to wait a week to 10 days to receive something that I know doesn't take that long, especially in town mailing. Better training and supervision should be addressed. Thank-you

NOT VERY HAPPY with the postal service I do not understand why you were closed yesterday if Publix and Winn Dixie where open and other businesses you should have been open even for a few hours like 800 to 200 by you not being customers friendly all you did was force me to pay my bills and other business on line and forget the post all together since I can remember the post office was always open even in the dead of winter the mail always went through what happened to your saying always delivered I can’t remember the saying but thanks for not nothing. I guess the work force of today is not like the work of yesterday and I hate to see what it is going to be like in the future

Not very happy right now sent a certified letter on 11/29/18 from Port Orange Fl to Boca Raton Fl. That was to be there 12/03/18. Paid the extra fee. But as of yet it has not been received! Called the post office said it had been sent to New Jersey!!! I asked was the zip code wrong he said no! It was needing to be there by 12/05/18

Would you please address mail not going to the correct address? We receive 2-5 pieces of mail weekly that are addressed to a different street and individual. This is a security risk when mail is not delivered to the address that is listed on the package or letter. Please take a few extra moments when sorting and delivering mail to ensure that it is delivered to the correct house, apartment, and/or business address. Thank you

Unbelievable service! Totally incompetent! The ability to read the English language is severely compromised. Leaving instructions on their forms must be the wrong thing to do, and, using the Gregorgian Calendar must also be wrong. Always an excuse :vacation, new guy, etc., except, this is the same fool who has done this twice. Your government at work.

Truck #9940073. Post Office maintenance utility truck is located at his home 3453 Martingale Ct, Port Orange at least half of everyday. Unless he's working nights and using his truck to run errands during the day he isn't working much. There at 10am for a few hours then leaves and comes back in an hour or so and stays for another hour or so, on and on everyday. This is been going on for a long time as I live in the area. Get to work or hide out some where else.
