Why do they not answer their phone? It rings and rings and then either someone hangs up or it automatically hangs up. No way to leave a message for them to call you back. I'm trying to find out if PO box 1974 is a valid address for this post office. I've had two items returned and one not returned for the same people. The label put on just says no such number, unable to forward. So, I don't know if the forwarding address is invalid or if the PO Box number is invalid.

We live in County Walk Subdivision and receive our mail delivery by USPS carriers. It is very common for us to receive mail addressed to our neighbors. We then have to be the delivery person. Too frequently the mail we place in out mailbox to be picked up is picked up but the recipient never receive it. The same is true of mail sent to us. We find out that mail was addressed to us but we never received it. We always check our mailbox every afternoon and only put mail to be picked up in the mailbox in the morning. My husband has spoken to employees at the post office in Lake Placid but the situation remains the same. An expensive birthday card I sent two weeks ago never arrived at its intended destination, nor did it come back to our mailbox. Any suggestions other than renting a mailbox and driving seven miles to pick up our mail?

Terrible service!!! On top of that calling for hours and phones busy. I would not be surprised that they leave phone off the hook 🤨

I totally agree..... I have been calling for “hours” and only get a busy signal. I even tried a second number that I got on Google and even that was busy...
