This past Monday, Oct 23rd, I witnessed the most unbelievable confrontation between the postal lady and a customer. The customer was so very polite but frustrated with the argumentative postal lady. She had all the factual proof that she was correct. Her mailbox should not have been locked. She tried calling for over an hour( maybe more) and no one picked up the phone. She showed her log. She showed her the communication that said her fee was not due until spring of 24.She still argued and was rude and unhelpful. The line grew longer and longer. She turned to apologize to us but I told her to keep going., We are with you. Why didn't I video tape it!!! The people skills of the postal lady leave a lot to be desired. THEN IT WAS MY TURN.I asked her a question and she sniped back at me. I handled it. Now I know why so many people go to Canton, Unionville, Simsbury and any place other than Avon's ONE post office.I have been in this town over fifty years and I wonder why nothing is being addressed with this employee. This week I soon found out it has happened multiple times. So, this past week I needed to mail a package and went to Simsbury. I stood there and saw the smiling employees and all the help they graciously gave. This is indeed sad. My package still has NOT been delivered and I paid extra. It Was supposed to arrive THREE DAYS AGO. Can you just imagine what the holiday season will bring?

I have a complaint that I believe all new Avon residents can agree with. There is only one viable entry to get to the PO parking lot, that is from Simsbury Rd. and its ONLY signage is a small short sign "Church Parking". If one manages to find this entry, and sees the PO trucks and pulls right...that is a parking lot for the church with no pass thru to the PO lot. So: no USPS entry sign on Simsbury Rd. PLUS no direction to GO AROUND the PO building to find the parking lot. Can't we get some signage???

I came into this site to get in touch with the post office manager, and actually surprised to see negative reviews. I go often and people are always working hard, helpful and nice! My only negative thought is why I was wanting to get in touch with manager, I would love to spruce up the garden bed are so upkept and overgrown. Looks depressing.

Do you charge $3.00 for address confirmation? Got a email from usps asking for confirmation of my address and tried to charge me $3.00 for confirmation.

For the first time in more than 50 years of mailing letters and packages I encountered a policy that goes against everything I ever experienced with the U.S. postal service. I mailed a small package (a book) to New York City. I paid the Media Mail rate. It was returned to Avon, marked undeliverable. The postal service charged me a second time. The original clerk had not informed me of such a horrendous policy. I paid TWICE for a small package that was undelivered. Neither a clear explanation nor an apology was offered.

horrible!!! hilda was so rude, hung up on me, refused to help, gave me info that was the opposite of what the main usps help number told me. I called back and asked to speak to a manager and she was again rude, refused to let me speak to anyone else and hung up again. hopefully I am somehow able to recover my package but according to this page and yelp this woman is terrible to everyone, why is she still employed???

Postmaster woman was extremely extremely rude. When I first called she picked up loudly said something and then hung up. I called back again, trying to find out the whereabouts of my mail being forwarded and she loudly said "we dont do that" in broken English and said nothing more. This is totally unacceptable behavior when I was simply asking for assistance. I have no idea if my bills and mail will be forwarded.

Avon postmaster was extremely rude to me (even though I was being very polite) when I called to complain about mail at our apartment complex being put in the wrong boxes. This is not a one time thing, has been going on for weeks, and things like W2s have gone missing. She actually hung up on me when I said why I was calling! I own a small business in town that ships daily... maybe time to think about UPS as a carrier!

Why was mail not delivered on Monday, January 26th - before the storm? Never had a pick up or delivery. I understand today, the 27th, due to storm - but don't understand why Jay Court in Avon never saw a USPS truck?
