I held out hope that what I’ve heard about truckee mail service was incorrect, unfortunately it’s not. Dismal response, don’t answer phones, quick to say “undeliverable “ when not the case.

We have not received mail since last week. Snow is cleared. Roads are clear.....why no mail? Thank you, N. Ives

These poor downtown Truckee PO employees seem completely under supported. Not enough staff. Usually just one clerk for a long line. Mail and packages piled up behind the wall, late late late. Therefore customer service suffers greatly.

It would be nice if we got our pics of our mail from the informed delivery that we signed up for. Is this place short staffed or lazy? Wtf

There is no way to contact anyone at the post office by phone or by email. I am trying to set up mail delivery to my house in Truckee as I will be moving there soon from the Bay Area. I find it unacceptable that I am going to have to drive 200 miles to have to do this in person. Maybe I should send them a letter addressed to whoever it may concern. Don’t think that would work either.

Kudos to the staff at the Truckee post office. I did not get the young man's name but he went out of his way to contact me about a package that I had not received. He apologized for calling so late but told me exactly where the package was and that I will receive it in the next couple of days. With all the pressure that employees are under this was outstanding service on his part. 12-15-20

Every - literally every- package that USPS handles from Amazon ends up disappearing entirely or I receive orange slip telling me it’s at the actual post office ( I have a PO Box) only to get to post office and learn it’s been sent back to Amazon. Yes, I get to post office by next day, no the shipping address is not wrong. Every package that UPS handles arrives to my door in a couple says without fail. What’s going on ? How do I get my Amazon deliveries?

Why is the lobby at the Truckee Post Office (10050 Bridge St, Truckee, CA 96161) not open early in the morning (your schedule says 24 hours a day!). Not happy that I drove all the way in the early morning to get my mail from the PO Box(COVID-19 Precaution) and while all the lights were on the doors to the lobby were closed and LOCKED! Not Happy.

I have my mail being forwarded as of Oct. 10. I want to make sure there is no mail in my mail box in Truckee after Oct. 10 since I will not be back in Truckee until May 2020. I've been calling 530-587-7158 and no one ever answers the phone. How can I get someone to check my mail box and forward any mail that is there to my new temporary location?

I realize my post office is overworked especially my friend, Susie, who is my hero and always finds my mail when no one else can after I put it on hold because I have to travel several times a month but today was unexplainable to me when Susie was off and as usual no one could find my mail BUT this time I was told the new mail carrier was a nice 'green' carrier who marked my address VACANT!! my question which no one seemed to know is, How did she decide, WITHOUT WARNING OR ALERTING ANYONE ELSE, LIKE MY AWESOME AND BRILLIANT FRIEND, SUSIE, THAT MY HOUSE WAS VACANT!!!??? Other employees who have known me for years would certainly question that decision. My next problem, how can I get my mail returned when it was returned to the senders that my house is VACANT!!?? Does the post office make an effort to alert somehow that it was a mistake?? Is there any possible way I can recover my mail?? I feel helpless because as many times as I fill out at least one hold my mail request, usually one in my mail box and another directly into the post office, I'm pleasantly shocked when I return to pick up my held mail and it's actually there. On the good side, the hard working employees at the desk are very polite and patient, especially, Susie. cheers, gayleen

Employee, "Rada" at the Deerfield PO is extremely rude. Today was over the top RUDE. This is not a 1 off. I have witnessed her poor attitude several times before. Terminate this government employee!

The post office failed again to deliver mail in Glenshire yesterday. After waiting all day for two separate packages which were confirmed by tracking to be “Loaded on truck for delivery.” The tracking detail was later updated to state that delivery could not be made because “USPS could not access my mailbox, driveway, or front door.” That is unmitigated bs. We were on our porch for the period that the stated delivery attempt was made. No postal vehicles at all. Oh yeah, all of my neighbors must have been blocked as well. Failing to make your appointed rounds is one (really bad) thing. Lying about it is another entirely. P.O.B.???

U.S. Postal service in Truckee, CA has deteriorated dramatically. Mail is not being delivered (where is it going?), and when it is being delivered it's being delayed by a week or more. Customers in line at the Bridge Street location are at times 40 or more--many of whom are angry about the poor service being provided. The explanation given is that a new postmaster at the location resulted in many staff quitting and the location is now understaffed. The attitude seems to be that we just have to "grin and bear it." This is no way to run a government agency! Where's the mail?
