I put my mail on vacation hold because I was waiting on some comptroller mail and my EDD replacement checks that didnt arrive well for that month I didnt get not one paper so now Im putting it again with informed mail but i doesnt want to give to me who is useing it STOP YOU POSTAL WORKER
On 11/28/20 I rec my neighbors mail, also rec mail for next street but same street number. I gave back to carrier, he said he just looks at street numbers, well if he does that I'm at 10120 and he delivered a mail forv10122. Very poor service.
My postal services were restricted because a post lady was scared of my dog sniffing her leg! She filed a report that she was ATTACKED and even though the “‘Manager” HEARD WITH HER OWN EARS that both neighbors did not see the woman get attacked but merely sniffed!!! She still refuses to reinstate my services unless I move my mailbox to the end of the driveway.. EVEN BETTER!!! She told me to speak to my neighbors to see what happened and NOT to speak to the mail lady to avoid confrontation yet shows up on my door step to not only WATCH me talk to my neighbors but stand right behind me and listen to the entire conversation... then proceeds to argue with me and refuses to address the fact THERE IS NO SAFETY CONCERN IF THERE WAS NO ATTACK!!
I am a long time citizen of the city of South Gate and am extremely disappointed in the service that I received recently at this post office location. On Mon 3/23 at approximately1030am, I attempted to cash a money order written to my name which I had a valid ID for and I was refused this service. I stood in a line and was told by one representative to go to a line with a different representative to obtain the cash. The female asian representative in approximately her 40s after eyeing me then proceeded to tell me that she didn't have any cash available. Mind you, it was a $50.00 cashier's check. My mom then began speaking Spanish to me confused, and upon hearing this, the representative continued to say "no money, money" but in a very mocking matter. It was hard to believe that an establishment like the US Post office does not have $50 in cash for this transaction nor was there a sign available at the window to communicate this. Additionally,
the person in front of me also received cash from their transaction. It was not what the representative said, but rather how she said it and the obvious manner in which she said it. There is no way around it but she was being prejudice and racist. The Supervisor should have the staff participate in a diversity and inclusion course if they have not already. The customer service they provide should be applied to all, not just based on their prejudice.
Wish the website and reviews would be updated
The majority of the negative reviews are from over a year ago
The customer service is much improved
They now have a Supervisor helping at the counter
They are understaffed at times but the supervisor try's very hard to help
I believe her name is Maria. She helps the customers with whatever she can and is very kind and understanding. ***** 5 stars
I must say this was the worst post office that I have ever been to. The customer service representatives (cashiers) are extremely rude and dishonest. After looking at the USPS website for information about their PO Box services, I noticed this location was a few miles away but it offered the cheapest available box service. The website mentioned that they had PO boxes available in all sizes and listed the associated costs. It also noted what documentation would be needed to open a po box.I went to the location and when I inquired the lady representative immediately stated "none are available" and with an attitude "do you live around here?" While the location is in an almost exclusive hispanic area which I am not there was no reason to assume that I should not or could not patronize that facility or live in the area.I told her the website said otherwise and informed her that USPS website didn't mention a maximum radius to reside from where a box is opened. She refused to take the documentation that I provided and told me that it would be months before I would be able to open a box and that I would need to contact the post office closest too me for them to verify my address. "The mail carrier would have to verify that they've delivered mail to me before"I've had a PO Box before so I knew she was full of it....I left and realized I had a few more items from the list of documents that one could provide so I went back and tried to speak to a male representative. He refused to speak to me. He mentioned that he knew that I was just there, didn't live close to the area (3 miles isn't close i guess) and would not speak to me. He then said that no small boxes are available. In my original conversation the size of a box was never discussed. I tried to ask questions and instead he waved for other customers to come to his register and was completely dismissive. He told me to step away from his area. I didnt understand what was going on as the conversation was calm and I was trying to understand his logic by asking questions.....At all times I was polite but they were disrespectful, dismissive, presumptuous and worst of all dishonest...I wonder if I were Hispanic would I have been treated so poorly. I would NEVER recommend this location. It should be closed but at the very least the staff needs sensitivity and discrimination training!Later in the day I got back online, found another reasonably priced USPS for PO Boxes took the same exact documentation and opened a PO Box without problem. As such, I believe the documentation was not the issue.Representatives from this location exemplify some of the reasons why the post office is failing... Stay Away!
