I wanted my letter to be postmarked today. The rude lady at the Hercules post office said, “we do not do that here. Postmark is done at the Oakland office.” I cannot believe that. Since when did they stop postmarking letters?

I am a 1st grade teacher in West Contra Costa Unified School District who went to mail 22 homework packets to my students. After spending over 4 hours of preparation, copying materials, addressing 22 large envelopes, putting stamps and sealing them, I asked assistance from the two postal workers at the counter to scan and put the remaining amount of postage due of $2.20 to each package. One of the ladies (the one with pigtales) told me that "you can just put 4 more forever stamps on the packages." I turned and told her NO. I asked them if this place was the U.S.Post Office and if there were people in line ? Yes to the post office and no one was in line except me.They told me I was rude. I told them I was tired and they had to scan each one and put the additional postage. I wanted a record. The never asked to help, nor between them they could get these packages stamped. Finally, I laid all the packages on the counter and waited. Maybe I should have delivered my packages myself. Terrrrrrrible experience!
