today I stayed home to get a package and according to the tracking website while my wife and I were sitting on the couch USPS tried to deliver but no-one was home to sign? do they just stand at the door or do they ring the doorbell? the tracking also says they left a notice ( that is not there). seems obvious that it was a nice day and the carrier just pencil wiped a bunch and went home. now what I take a day or two or three off work so I can be here to get it on whatever day they actually do try to deliver it?

I’ve tried for 2 days, several times per day, to reach someone at the post office, and still have not had anyone answer the phone. What’s up with that??

Tried repeatedly to contact this post office...its been ringing with no response and then the call is terminated. This seems to be a reoccurring theme from past complaints. I realize staffing is an issue but someone should be answering these calls. Seth

Yes...they suck. Never answer the phone. I have called about 50 times at different times of the day.

On a regular basis the phone is picked up and almost immediately hung up. Not a good indicator for an essential government office. When I did talk to the PIC lady she was quick to inform me they are understaffed.

Horrible service! Our carrier will not pickup or deliver packages saying it's not his job "honey" to walk the short distance up my driveway! We put a bin out for him, closer to the mailbox and he still did not deliver my package. Now he is just being spiteful!

I'm not one to post reviews, as mistakes are bound to happen. I've let numerous mistakes go unheard regarding my packages AND government official mail that has gotten lost in the midst of unorganized Chaos that is our communities' POST OFFICE. Today I've finally had it with all I can stand - Unfortunately, USPS has changed their protocols and will not deliver to residential addresses here in downtown Ridgefield. Even more unfortunate, My package in transit ended up at the ONLY post office here in Ridgefield. AS of this morning, on 7/15/2021 the latest update from usps tracking services posted my package delivered at 8:51A on 7/12/21 and is ready for pick up. My encounters every time have been with the same darker hair employee - unfortunately, since she was not wearing a name tag I'm unable to name her. Nonetheless, a senior employee with a permanent negative attitude, and without avail never seems to let it be known how much she hates her job and simple human interaction..... I provided her with all the information she would need to be able to locate my package, after 15-20 mins of searching, to no avail. I was sent away and she told me that she would call me if anything surfaced. I asked her if she could try to retrieve my package one more time, by manually scanning the tracking number into the postal system, because surely, they should be keeping some sort of logged information on all mail that passes through here, right? Suddenly the system crashed, and she was then again unable to locate my package, i was sent away and left with only the promise of a phone call if they found it. my 300 package, lost in the depths of Ridgefield post office depth of hell. I decided to research my package tracking info more in depth, at this point I should be on payroll for having to do their job.... AND after I've already gotten home, i have three sources of documents pertaining to my package in question and confirmed that my package is definitely at their facility Upon arriving for the second time at the post office, I was immediately approached by the same employee stating that they had made a mistake... For whatever kind of catawampus protocol they have in place, my package with my name and address has been placed in someone else's box, and they are crossing their fingers that the package has not been retrieved yet. This same employee stated, the assortment of mail was looked up by residential street number and placed in PREVIOUS tenants P.O. box. Luckily, after much frustration they located my package. Sadly, I still have to deal with the facility as it's the only post office reasonably convenient for my address/location. perhaps looking into new protocols for filing mail, keeping digital and written logs for where mail is being place and over all qualified persons to distribute packages and state/ government issues mail to the correct recipient could save someone else this kinda hardship

Terrible service! We get informed delivery by email. Multiple times it will show someone else's mail coming to our box. Many times we do receive other people's mail and ours? Who knows where ours goes. Last Thursday we were to receive 2 DVD's from netflix that did not arrive. It is now Monday and they are still not here. Cannot reach this post office by phone. Thankful that netflix is sending us replacements but this really gets old from a service that we are supposed to be able to rely on. If it was something that happens infrequently we can understand that people make mistakes but this is very frequent and without resolution or recourse. Where do you get these people that you pay union wages to? And not much good a review does when there is no response.

Good luck getting a hold of anyone. Go in person as they don’t answer their phones. Frustrating!

Had an essential errand to Ridgefield PO today. The person behind the counter was not wearing any PPE, talking around the clear plastic shield, no use of sanitizer between customers. I felt very unsafe. Everyone else in line was maintaining social distance and wearing masks and gloves. Incredibly irresponsible behavior from a public employee.

A package was delivered to a secure postal box at the end of our road I cannot open the lock. The key will not go into the lock. Just found out it is medicine and needs to be kept cold. Help us out. Cathy English
