There were at least three instances each of not showing up to pick up packages and of boxes of packages being handled so roughly that they were smashed. I do not know at which point the boxes were treated badly, but at least I want them to make sure to check the pickup and not forget to do.

I got an update from usps stating my package were to be delivered on 6-26-2021, waited all day to tell me my package was delayed due to animal interference? First of all, there are no stray animals in my neighborhood. What I don't understand is, you are right there at the mail box, why didn't you just leave it in the below boxes for bigger packages and leave me the key in my mail box. There was no need for you to get out your truck. Then you tell me it would be back out for delivery Monday. I have heard nothing and today is Tuesday. And I still have not received any update on my package.

THIS POST OFFICE LOCATION SUCKS! I moved to Auburn in 2011 and I dread EVERY TIME I have to deal with this post office! Our locking mailboxes were broken into and there was a note left to contact the local post office for mail delivery options. This morning I have called 6 times. Each time the phone rings and rings and rings then someone picks up the phone and hangs up on me. So since my cats meds were to be delivered yesterday, I just drive to the post office and they tell me they don't have my mail or packages that they will tomorrow. What irritates me is why didn't they answer the phones? Why did I have to waste my time and gas money to drive to the post office to find out they won't have my packages until tomorrow? Why couldn't the notice say that? Why couldn't they answer their phones. The lady in the location was hard to understand her English and talked so quietly she could not be heard. I see other responses where Informed Delivery is recommended. I look at the status of my packages from yesterday and there is NOTHING there. And don't get me started on the round robin you get when you call the 800 number for post office customer service! 10 years here in Auburn and NOT ONCE have I had a good experience in this location! UGH!

We are not getting any boxes delivered to our office address. Even the smallest boxes the carrier is stating "attempted" every time. We are open Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm and he still notes - no access. And weird enough we find a letter in our mailbox that he was there. Our customers get in with no issues. Last time this happened (a few months ago) someone actually called from this Post Office and said our boxes are just stacked - sorry - we will get these to you. I do not understand why this is so difficult. :( As a manufacturer we are waiting for machine parts - this affects our ability to do business.

No one answers the phone and the mail person that services my neighborhood refuses to deliver mail to my house. This needs to be FIXED NOW! I am considering this theft of my mail since the person refuses to put it in my fully accessible mail box that is right next to my front door. WHAT IS THIS PERSONS PROBLEM. Been nothing but a headache to get mail at this address ever since we moved in 2 months ago. FIX THIS ISSUE!!!! I WANT MY MAIL NOW!!!

I would like to find out what time our mail is supposed to be delivered. I know that the US postal service has been put in a bind with all the changes that have happened in the last few months, but our mail never seems like it comes at the same time lately. We live on a busy street, I'm 78 and I don't like that I have to go out to get the mail after dark. Our mailbox is very close to the street and cars go by so fast. We use to get the mail earlier in the afternoon. Can this be changed ?

Hi Patty, and sorry for the late reply. With the increased packages and COVID related absences, multiple carriers have to carry multiple routes. As a result, controlling when the carrier gets to your point on the route is something beyond our control at the moment. Should you get a PO Box, all mail is distributed by 10 am, but with street mail, we do what we can.

I had some questions, and even after asking, I could NOT understand what she was saying. Her English was really bad. You need to improve your customer service AND your communication. I tried to call to ask questtion, then the phone rang and rang, then then was hung up on. No wonder your funding is in trouble

Sorry disgruntled, Informed Delivery is best answered online at usps.com. While I understand it best since I understand it's origin was with what I did 25 years ago, it's often misunderstood, and the equipment we use to verify ID is often on the fritz. Informed Delivery gains us nothing in revenue, and we're not tax funded. If anything, it's inception secondary to the IPV process, but that gets too lengthy to describe here. In any case, I do apologize for your experience. Not everyone we have working for us has English as a first language. They can only speak multiple languages, English being secondary, and not as well as the first. Since most Americans can only master one language, understanding just accents can be challenging, and we often fail at working around it.

Hsieh, the mailman can drop off the mails to the door, but before we get to the expensive solutions, let's try something simple. This a saltwater area, and salt gets into the locks a tiny bit at a time through humidity and rain. Take a spray lubricant like WD-40, with the nozzle, and shoot a bit through the keyhole. Then get a little on your keys. Try jiggling the lock gently at first and it should turn after that. If you don't have WD-40, try any oil without "stuff" in it, INCLUDING, vegetable or even olive oil. It'll be less effective, but the idea is to push the dried salt backwards through the key hole and lubricate the tumblers. 99% of the time, if your keys were working and they suddenly stopped, this is the reason why. If that doesn't work, it involves getting a locksmith involved and it becomes a lot more expensive than a $5 can of WD-40.

I had two packages supposedly delivered while I was at work and came home and only one was here. I don’t even know what is in the other package to even fill the claims form out since I ordered a few different items online so this is frustrating. I don’t even think the postal worker rang the doorbell they just left my package on my porch for all these scavengers that steal stuff all around my neighborhood to take. It’s such a hassle to have to fill out these forms asking all these questions about the packages like we were the ones sending them. I have no clue what the senders address was so how would I even be able to do a claim . The tracking number alone is useless to file a claim . I’m so sick of this.

Let's start with this: 1. Did you get both notifications directly from usps.com or through a third party company like Amazon, eBay, or Etsy? These company's use something called an API that often "smoosh" multiple tracking sources together creating weird results. usps.com only shows the postal service tracking number's results directly. 2. For the postal service, the tracking number is useful for the SENDER to place a claim on any insurance they had on the package. 3. For the packages you do receive, that a close look at the labels. Amazon labels have the terrifying instructions for the couriers that say "Leave If No Response," which means just leave it if nobody answers the door, no matter what. At that point, ringing or knocking becomes meaningless. Some eBay and Etsy labels add "Or current resident," which means that if you accidentally had it shipped to an old address, we're legally required to leave it at your old address anyway. 4. Sometimes doorbells don't go off when you ring them and the carrier can't hear that it didn't work. They only have a moment to ring the bell and leave. I have a Ring doorbell. I see my regular carrier use the doorbell. Sometimes it rings, sometimes it doesn't. In any case, he is pushing it, but doesn't always pushes it square on, or deep enough. Mind you, these aren't excuses. Some of your concerns may be entirely valid. It's just that with these other probabilities, and without the specific tracking numbers, it's impossible to tell what happened. The best way to start an investigation would be to use https://www.usps.com/help/contact-us.htm to contact us using an email form and we can do the legwork for you.

There was a key in my box, come to find out this key wouldn't work for the delivery box that my package was put in. Very dissapointing, as this was a Mothers Day Gift. The post Office was closed and I couldn't get anyone out here to recover my item, I had to wait until the week day. 😢

The time your mail is delivered has nothing to do with how your carrier feels. Mail volume, if they're carrying part of another route, if they prepared part of another route, if it's a substitute carrier; there are many things that effect the time of your mail delivery. If you're regularly not getting any mail at all, you should go down to your post office or use the contact form at usps.com and find out what's going on. However, that sounds like the usual hyperbole.

I thought post carriers would supposed to pick up outgoing mail when noted by a upright mail flag and a note in the mailbox saying large mail in office. Our regular carrier is never a problem, but the substitute needs directions on what a mail carrier does. Saw them at the mailbox, but ignored the flag and didn't come in the office to get the oversized mail and put incoming mail in the box. Really!?

I have used the Tukwila Riverton Heights 98188-9998 mail facility and have had no problems what so ever. Mail delivery times can vary for a wide amount of reasons. Since your post was several months ago, I can only hope it's arrived there since then. As you know, now Auburn locks it's doors overnight because the post office was being vandalized and broken into at night when there were no employees on site. The world is becoming a less nice place, and unfortunately, we're victims as well. However, we are taking aggressive steps to combat these criminal acts.

It would be nice if post carriers could do their jobs and pick up the outgoing mail. Our regular carrier knows this but his replacement/sub seems to just want to hand the tub to you and leave. We are a business and have outgoing mail that needs to go in a timely manner, but apparently, this carrier just can't seem to figure this out. The last time she delivered, I had to tell her how to do her job. This time, she left without picking up the outgoing mail.

My wife mailed a parcel to our daughter in Auburn, WA, from Burlington, WA. The parcel value was $60.00 plus about $8.00 for postage! The parcel arrived in Auburn and was scheduled for delivery! Our daughter never received the parcel! The carrier said she put it in the parcel box and later said she set it on the porch! We have received very little help and no satisfaction from the Auburn Post Office! They obviously have carriers that help their selves to other people's mail, with no repercussions! I have been trying since 9 AM this morning to get through to the Auburn post office. For the first hour and a half all I got was a busy signal, apparently the phones were not even turned on yet. When I finally did get through at about 10:20 AM, all I got was the run-around from one extension to another, all of which had full mail boxes so I couldn't even leave a message. I simply wanted to ask a simple question about the size of the box I need to mail today so that I wouldn't waste a trip down there if it is too big. So much for that. Very LOUSY phone service.

I don't even know how to begin this complaint, I have never, ever had mail delivery service this bad in my 60 years of living! In the past couple of years it has gotten worse and worse. Mail not coming at all, (my flag has been up for two days with postage stamped mail in it); mail coming at 7:00 at night or later sometimes??, Amazon telling me my package has been delivered in mailbox, yet NO package in mailbox? ; we keep getting other people's mail ; (is somebody else getting MY mail??). This is a federal offense and something needs to be done about who the post office is hiring and why they are not responsible about firing people who are not doing their job, especially one as important as picking up and delivering mail in a timely manner!! Auburn post office, after reading all these bad reviews and knowing first hand that they are TRUE, I hold you responsible for not getting better responsible help. There are a lot of good responsible people looking for work. Get it done.

I am so angry I recently went in and they said everything should be ok, well NO ITS NOT! I have been waiting for a picture ID in the mail come to find out the post office returned it to sender and the licencing place shredded it, so now i have to pay a fee for them to re-issue a new one. I have even posted a note on my mail box do not forward mail and they just don't get it! Auburn post office is about the worst experience I have had with any kind face-to-face customer contact. One employee in particular simply hates her job and carries an attitude the minute you walk up to her window. Plus there seems to be zero communication between the office and carriers or the carriers don't care. Our community mailboxes were broken into months ago and mail service was halted. The boxes were fixed and service resumed for about four months. My family put our mail on hold for a vacation and later picked it up to resume service. About a week later mail stopped again. We went down there a second time and was informed that we had not resumed service and when we told them we had we got, "well do you want to resume service now?". After receiving mail for about a week all of a sudden - - no mail. Went down there a third time and was THEN informed that the mail boxes could no longer be locked back up by the carrier. No notice at all on the box - - just stopped service. The lady with the long brown hair and glasses behind the counter couldn't have been any less helpful and was argumentative. Terrible experience.

I live in the Edge View subdivision and it's become fairly common for whoever delivers the mail here to put mail in the wrong mail boxes. Frequently I am returning mail to my neighbors across the street or to the home a couple of streets behind me that has the same house number. It's also not uncommon for me to be at home and have someone in the neighborhood returning my "misplaced" mail to me. Today I was expecting medication for my cat. I checked the tracking number and it said it was delivered to my mail box...no it wasn't! The medication cost $50 and I waited 2 days to get it. I waited on the phone for almost an hour (case# CA 136392623) and advised it would take up to 3 business days to hear back. This is Wednesday, which means I won't hear anything till next week??? Meanwhile my cat does not have his meds and I am forced to either re-order, pay another $50 and HOPE it makes it to the right mail box or wait and see till next week and watch my cat go down hill. Most of the time it does not matter if mail is put in the wrong box..that is...until it does matter. As frequently as this happens in my neighborhood I am hoping that whoever it is that delivers the mail here is advised to start being more careful....because right now..I'm not amused and frankly very frustrated....

Noticed for the past few months, I’ve been receiving mail for people who don’t live on my street. I’d understand if the number was close to mine but it’s happening too often lately that the postman gets it all wrong. It’s concerning that my mail may end up somewhere else. Today I was expecting a package...but I got a package that actually should’ve been delivered to a guy on a different street. USPS.com does not have a complaint form for this type of issue, unless I can’t find it. Please get someone who is meticulous about performing their job efficiently and update the site where we can resolve issues of receiving the wrong mail. Not cool.

It never made it to my apartment ( Amazon showed it was delivered and did reimburse me).On Sunday 7/16/07 Amazon had USPS deliver another package to the same address. I saw the mail truck pull up in front of my apt. and stepped out and closed my apt. door. The apt. #'s are well marked on the front of the entry way and a 4" plastic plate on each door with apt. numbers. I stood outside and the mail lady went to the door across from me knocking on their door( their door is plainly marked with a number 1). I told her the package was for me and she said no it was for the apt. she was knocking on and continued knocking. I had to show her I.D and pointed at my door number and she still would on give it to me. The package was clearly marked with the correct address and apt. number 2. I had to take it out of her hand nd she turned around and walked off. She was not very professional. I am an Amazon Prime member but I will tell them no more Sunday deliveries because the postal carrier is incompetent at the least.

Our USPS driver doesn't knock or ring the doorbell. Instead, he walks up to the door and puts a "we missed you" sticker on the door and goes back to his truck. I know because I've watched him do this on three separate occasions. Today he rang the doorbell and immediately walked away. I know this is true because I watched it happen as our nanny went to answer the door--he literally did not wait for even 5 seconds. Just rang the door bell then immediately walked back to his vehicle. I have reported this type of service failure multiple times and the behavior does not change. This is absolutely unacceptable and MUST CHANGE. Please get your drivers to provide the service they are paid to provide or get a new delivery driver for us.

Same thing happens to me. Never knocks and just leaves the "We missed you" form. I'm forced to go at least 5 times a week because they don't do their job.

If you have a complaint directed toward the auburn post office-don't waste your time. They consider themselves untouchable and will be in complete denial of any mistakes made on thier part

The second time we've put a stop on our mail while we were on vacation and the second time we returned to find that there was no mail delivery to our house the week we're on vacation. How is it that we get mail every day except when we're on vacation? Who do we go to for satisfaction and change? Obama? lol

It's 6:42 pm. The first time I called I was told that the route may have a sub. The second time I called, I was told that I had to deal with it bc there was construction going on and delivery couldn't be made..... so tell me why this same construction has been going on for more than 2 months and this has never happened? Tell me the way my route runs that you don't even go thru the construction zone? You guys need to get it together. This is ridiculous. So I have to wait to get my mail until someone who is not an incompetent idiot does the route I guess.

I recently made an order on amazon, given a tracking number, and patiently awaited delivery. On 9/20/15 I received email notification that the package was delivered. I thought it was odd that the post office would deliver on a sunday, I then checked my mail box and my porch and no package had been left. I then contacted amazon to notify them the package was not delivered and we discussed my refund options. I decided to wait in case, as my amazon rep suggested, that the package might have been marked as "delivered" when it was really just out for delivery. Then on 9/23/15 I called the auburn post office to notify them of the failure to deliver my order. I was met with rudeness and unacceptable behavior. The woman I spoke with assured me that when tracking the package it was deposited at my address. It was apparently beyond her understanding that the auburn office could make a mistake and treated me as if I was a liar. One week later on 9/30/15 my neighbor came to my house to deliver the package. Turns out they had received it. Due to a loss in the family, sorting their mail wasn't exactly a priority for them. The only explanation I could make is that the postal carrier transposed the zip code for the house address. This miss-delivery is problematic as if it had been delivered to other addresses in my neighborhood, I would not have received my order. However, the part of my experience that is most exasperating, is that I was treated as a liar when I notified the post office of THEIR mistake. What cause would I have to lie about not getting a package? I am dismayed at the overall lack of professionalism from this office. Complaints are not handled, and deliveries are spotty. There clearly needs to be greater levels of training in their work force to prevent problems like mine from happening, and should problems continue to arise, learn how to deal with them properly, rather than treating your clients as if they are the mistaken ones.

after waiting in line a long long time to get my package scanned into the system (I prepaid postage online) they wouldnt scan it. intead i was told to leave my prepaid pack on the edge of the counter and someone would pick it up later and put with mail sorting. Just leave my package on counter where any customer can grab it?? come on!! just scan it and toss it behind you like you do for everyone else who buys postage from you! moral of story. dont buy postage online at a discount cuz your package will be treated as a stepchild.

It's 5:55 and I have watched the mail truck drive by 3 times, they still have not dropped off any mail to the whole block, if they can not handle the mail delivery, hire some one that can, there are lots of people who can do this job and want to work. I have never seen such a screwed up postal service in my 67 years of living in this town> It's not that tough folks, my Cat could do this job. !!

It's now 6:55 pm, and tracking says our very important medicine is "out for delivery" as of 10:30am 10/31/2014.Has something happened to our carrier, or is she just late again. She used to come "around" 4:45- 5:15 pm, but last 3 month has been anywhere from 3:00pm -6:30pm. It's has us wondering if our mail has been stolen for the 3rd time.

You need to pay attention to the address when delivering every other day we get someone else's mail and my wife ordered checks that one of your employees delivered to the wrong address and not only was it delivered to the wrong address it was opened by someone along the way, it also had a note on it that said delivered to to the wrong box, auburn has a shitty post office that needs to figure it out

Turn on your phone at 9 a.m. when you are supposed to! "It will be our pleasure to serve you" should be modified to, "When we feel like it, we will turn on our phones and MAYBE we'll help you."

Fix your flipping phone so it stops being answered by the automated system after 9:00 AM it is 9:30 and still going to the stupid automated system that says call back durring normal business hours. Kinda hard to do if your phone system is jacked up.
