Can someone please tell me why I have to purchase a PO BOX in Fries, VA to receive my mail? Some areas of the town receive mail at their homes while others have to purchase a PO BOX. Why is this??

This is one of the worst post offices with which I've ever had the displeasure of dealing. The people whom staff this location are extremely rude, half of the time upon entering the empty post office, one is greeted with a wait. What are you waiting for? You ask? Who knows. . . being in a military household means a lot of moving around the country, and where the vast majority of post offices close at 4:30 or even 5 in some cases, the staff of the Fries Virginia post office feel special enough to leave ten minutes early. But are they actually gone? Well of course they aren't, they like to stand at the glass door at 4:16 and watch as the realization of living in a small town with a poorly ran post office washes over your face as they go on about how they closed over forty seconds ago, you're too late and it would be against the law, punishable by death to accept the package you taped up and lugged to the post office in ninety degree heat with ninety percent humidity. Basically, avoid this location, the post office in Galax is much nicer and staffed with much better people.
