I visited the Dumfries PO recently. I was literally disgusted by the disgraceful representation of the American and POW on your flag pole - utterly faded, frayed beyond belief. You’re a Federal building. What a disgrace.
I feel so bad for the mailman that delivers to Shorehaven Apts. Please re-assign him to PO Boxes within the Post Office. He can barely get out of the truck and stand upright more or less put mail into 15 building with 16 apartment in each. Yes, we do have a centralize mailboxes under lock and key with plenty of mailboxes for larger packages. But, this mailman keeps putting "missed slips," in my box when he could put it in a large mailbox or bring it to the door if a signature is required. One day I went downstairs because I was looking for my package. Low and behold the slip was in box, he could make it upstairs and it didn't require a signature. So, I asked him once he finish could he please pass me my package. He did but I could see the look on his face like she caught me. I kindly told him that he could always leave my packages in the larger mailboxes.
We were home. Both my wife and I and this lazy ass mailman leaves a sorry we missed you. This has happened four times. Today, instead of bringing boxes up, he just leaves them at the mailbox leaning.
This is the worst mail service around.
I live in Four Seasons-- generally I feel the USPS does a good job. However, in the past 2-3 months, I find that after putting the mail in my box, the door to the box is not closed. When I get a package of my prescriptions, it is STUFFED in tight that I have a hard time getting it out. I am expecting such a pkg today or tomorrow and I'm afraid that the pkg will be stolen because the mailbox is not SHUT... help
OMG- my postman/person must hate me! I have lived at the same address for 30 plus years-shutterfly envelope arrives bigger then my mail box and gets folded and put inside it thus creaseing the 8x10 or larger print wasting my money- I call the Post Master which agrees if the envelope is two big the correct thing to do would be leave it at the door---but then it happens again---what can I do? this is upsetting!
The mail man who delivers here has serious problems. I have gonet o the dumfries post office to complain about this guy, who at least 2 to 3x's a week, we don't recieve our mail. He leaves slips or little notes in our mailbox saying our mailbox was blocked, so he could'nt leave our mail. If you can leave slips and notes, why can't you leave the mail. Tried to talk to the post master there, but of course, she wasn`t there. So We left a note with our info, for her to call. Think that happened? "NO". So the drama continues.....
I have a problem with a postmaster that delivers our mail at 16215 Taconic Circle, Dumfries, Va. 22025-1528. First is suppose to pick up mail from inside the mailboxes? Two, tired of misplaced mail that is delivered to this address even though we submit it to RETURN TO SENDER, Thirdly, I just had woman that lives in this complex, Stonebridge and this wonderful woman that has lung cancer, one lung, goes to chemotherapy arrived with my mail that was delivered to her. But it CLEARLY READS Julie D. Williams, 16215 Taconic Circle, Dumfries, Va. 22025-1528. What the HELL IS WRONG with this postmaster or mailman. I am so freaking pissed because as hot as it is, she came from chemotherapy to deliver my mail to me. This is not acceptable at all.
driver for our neighborhood (Potomac shores) is rude and will destroy your mail box out of anger. He skips houses all the time, management here must suck since sub drivers even have commented on this guy's attitude.
The stuff is so rude it is unreal that they still have a job here! No customer service skills. It is clear they hate their job and are too unkind to receive employment anywhere else!
On 23 December 2013 Dumfries Postal Clerk Mary Lynn was rude and snide to my wife for no reason. My wife, in a calm and friendly demeanor, began to ask a question about a delivery when Ms. Mary Lynn, in a very rude and belittling manner told my wife "there are no delivery guarantees for priority packages." Had my wife been angry or pushy I would understand it but my wife was neither. As simple, polite response AFTER my wife finished asking the question would have been appropriate. If the pressures of Christmas mailings get to an employee to that degree the employee should be put on a different task than dealing with customers.
