I have a package I'm waiting on that even after it was obvious by location wasn't going to make it by the 18th, the expected arrival was changed on the 20th for arrival on the 21st. I check the tracking regularly and saw it made it to call yesterday in the early morning and had maid to the mail carriers vehicles and was finally showing out for delivery. So yesterday I waited till just before 5 to go check and regular box mail had been delivered buy the order I have been waiting for had never been scanned by the carrier that it was delivered. I know it was on her vehicle and no clue why she didn't drive an 8th of a mile up the road and put it on the porch buy do know she had it on the route and just chose not to deliver it. This morning the tracking info has changed as of 4:55pm yesterday and is now showing out for delivery on the time-line which is still showing estimated arrival 5/21. But at the end of her route scanned it in as "held at post office" call tx. However when I attempted to contact the post office directly it shows completely closed on Saturday and Sunday. Does this mean I have to pick up my delivery at the post office??? Mind you I've had several boxes much bigger delivered to the porch. This is marked as media mail and is a hard backed book that measures roughly 11" by 8". I'm in from out of town to be with my granny for a few weeks and have had numerous packages delivered here. Why wasn't it delivered yesterday when it had been scanned into the carriers vehicle..which is probably close to the end of her route because normally she arrived around 3:30? And why it came back off her vehicle and status marked held at post office at 4:53 assuming that's when she got back to the post office? Am I going to be required to pick it up Monday? The post office shows closed today so should I assume this is the one place in the county that there is no carrier service on Saturday. I know the updates can be slow to show up buy at 9:30 am one would assume any update that it was AGAIN marked as out for delivery? I have never had this kind of problem in the extremely rural area I live in central Texas. Why are there no operating hours on Saturday? Is it because of the giant pine tree that feel on the back corner months and months ago that has never been dealt with? I realize I'm in the armpit of the entire state over here but seriously!!!!
