I called the post office in Custer, SD just a couple minutes ago to inquire why we had no rural mail service yesterday, January 3rd, 2022. The phone was answered by Payton and from her tone of voice and attitude, it was quite obvious that taking my call was a pain in her butt. First, she suggested that we probably had no mail coming to us yesterday. When I explained to her there was outgoing mail in the box and the red flag was up and that mail is still there and the flag still up today, she asked if the snow is cleared from in front of our box. When I answered in the affirmative, she very curtly replied, "Well, I can't answer that question. I am not your carrier." She asked for our phone number, which I gave her and she told me she would get back to me when she had an answer. There was never an apology offered and I got the feeling she doesn't care to be at her job. She was VERY unprofessional!
