Received mail from J. Byrne - Mail is currently being forwarded to Flotida and my W. Wildwood mailbox has been removed for that reason. A piece of mail was delivered to J. Byrne because of no mailbox. WHY WAS THAT MAIL NOT FORWARDED???

There was no mail delivered to anyone on my street to and I am a bit upset as I was expecting an important package. I watched my usual truck drive straight down my street and make no stops. Our mail is usually here between 2 and 3:30 but the truck did not even pass by my house until well after 4.

More and more, our carrier is not picking up mail we have placed in our mailbox. It is only a 2-3 second walk to our mailbox from his normal delivery path. I called the post office to ask why. I was told they are short-staffed and that it is only a "common courtesy" for the carrier to pick up mail if he has nothing to deliver. Simply stated, the carrier is not required to pick up our mail from our mailbox. Is g his true? Two successive days now our mail has not been picked. And we have received no mail those two days, which is highly unusual.
